hence_o scripture_n most_o clear_a in_o their_o expression_n by_o reason_n of_o other_o scripture_n as_o seem_o clear_a that_o express_v the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o this_o clearness_n become_v very_o ambiguous_a and_o that_o in_o some_o necessary_a point_n of_o faith_n as_o appear_v in_o those_o many_o controversy_n concern_v their_o sense_n some_o of_o which_o contest_v doubtless_o be_v in_o very_o necessary_a point_n and_o matter_n of_o faith_n to_o know_v therefore_o among_o these_o which_o be_v the_o true_a sense_n as_o suppose_v in_o the_o controversy_n about_o the_o sacred_a trinity_n grace_n and_o free_a will_n justification_n etc._n etc._n upon_o which_o first_o know_v i_o must_v ground_v my_o faith_n i_o be_o no_o way_n help_v by_o know_v that_o the_o writing_n be_v god_n word_n here_o therefore_o though_o the_o scripture_n for_o the_o word_n shall_v not_o yet_o my_o faith_n for_o their_o sense_n will_v have_v a_o dependence_n upon_o and_o repair_v unto_o universal_a tradition_n and_o wherever_o the_o sense_n be_v doubtful_a to_o i_o as_o the_o scripture_n may_v be_v doubtful_a to_o one_o where_o perspicuous_a to_o another_o the_o chief_a certainty_n i_o can_v have_v for_o that_o sense_n which_o my_o faith_n ought_v to_o embrace_v will_v be_v from_o the_o universal_a church-tradition_n now_o concern_v this_o universal_a tradition_n therefore_o on_o which_o tradition_n as_o the_o final_a assurer_n of_o the_o scripture_n or_o of_o the_o church_n infallibility_n the_o act_n of_o faith_n must_v rest_v let_v it_o be_v grant_v 1._o first_o without_o dispute_v whether_o it_o be_v absolute_o infallible_a because_o it_o be_v needle_n to_o the_o state_v of_o our_o business_n that_o there_o be_v in_o it_o certainty_n upon_o or_o assurance_n book_n thereof_o depend_v on_o the_o certainty_n of_o tradition_n and_o indeed_o it_o be_v impious_a to_o affirm_v that_o we_o have_v not_o a_o sufficient_o sure_a ground_n of_o that_o knowledge_n of_o good_a and_o evil_n upon_o which_o our_o eternal_a happi_n nes_z be_v to_o be_v acquire_v or_o misery_n sustain_v or_o that_o god_n have_v not_o leave_v a_o undoubtable_a evidence_n of_o those_o truth_n whereby_o we_o be_v to_o direct_v our_o life_n to_o that_o end_n for_o which_o he_o have_v create_v we_o but_o this_o can_v be_v assign_v no_o other_o at_o least_o to_o most_o man_n than_o tradition_n therefore_o it_o be_v the_o interest_n of_o all_o christian_n as_o well_o those_o who_o submit_v themselves_o only_o to_o the_o scripture_n as_o those_o who_o submit_v also_o to_o the_o church_n unanimous_o to_o maintain_v a_o sufficient_a certainty_n therein_o lest_o whilst_o the_o ground_n of_o our_o faith_n ascend_v not_o to_o a_o mathematical_a or_o sensible_a demonstration_n that_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n have_v appoint_v a_o select_a company_n of_o man_n successive_o in_o all_o age_n to_o be_v the_o guardian_n conserver_n divulger_n thereof_o to_o the_o world_n saviour_n as_o this_o opinion_n make_v he_o enjoin_v only_o subscription_n to_o the_o church_n in_o fundamental_o who_o see_v not_o that_o it_o be_v as_o necessary_a that_o our_o saviour_n shall_v god_n even_o every_o part_n and_o parcel_n of_o god_n word_n be_v the_o object_n and_o so_o many_o point_n or_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n i._n e._n be_v not_o to_o be_v deny_v but_o believe_v and_o assent_v to_o immediate_o when_o ever_o we_o know_v they_o or_o when_o ever_o they_o be_v sufficient_o propose_v to_o we_o that_o we_o may_v know_v they_o to_o be_v god_n word_n among_o these_o
