themselves_o through_o with_o many_o sorrow_n it_o be_v hard_a for_o a_o man_n to_o go_v through_o thorn_n and_o not_o to_o pierce_v himself_o he_o may_v be_v in_o the_o outside_n of_o they_o and_o not_o pierce_v himself_o so_o though_o a_o man_n be_v busy_a in_o the_o world_n he_o may_v keep_v himself_o from_o prick_v but_o if_o he_o be_v over_o head_n and_o ear_n in_o the_o world_n he_o will_v be_v prick_v as_o the_o sheep_n that_o be_v get_v into_o the_o thorn_n will_v lose_v part_n of_o her_o fleece_n so_o god_n people_n will_v lose_v part_n of_o their_o good_a among_o the_o world_n last_o many_o venomous_a creature_n as_o 6._o snake_n and_o toad_n and_o the_o like_a be_v creep_v and_o crawl_v in_o the_o thorn_n so_o many_o venomous_a lust_n be_v hide_v by_o riches_n a_o outward_a glorious_a estate_n do_v hide_v many_o filthy_a lust_n these_o argument_n may_v for_o ever_o teach_v we_o to_o look_v upon_o these_o thing_n as_o very_o mean_a and_o low_a four_o if_o suffering_n and_o reproach_n for_o christ_n be_v 4._o great_a riches_n than_o all_o the_o riches_n in_o the_o world_n o_o how_o be_v they_o mistake_v how_o be_v they_o delude_v that_o look_n upon_o these_o thing_n as_o the_o great_a evil_n that_o be_v so_o shy_a of_o suffering_n and_o reproach_n for_o christ_n as_o that_o they_o will_v lose_v the_o great_a riches_n rather_o than_o they_o will_v be_v enrich_v by_o they_o rather_o than_o they_o will_v endure_v they_o when_o as_o they_o be_v so_o great_a a_o good_a as_o first_o be_v not_o peace_n of_o conscience_n a_o rich_a jewel_n more_o than_o all_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o world_n and_o yet_o how_o many_o be_v there_o that_o will_v lose_v the_o rich_a jewel_n of_o peace_n of_o conscience_n rather_o than_o endure_v reproach_n rather_o than_o be_v enrich_v by_o reproach_n though_o they_o be_v convince_v in_o their_o conscience_n such_o way_n be_v according_a to_o god_n mind_n that_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v they_o such_o thing_n ought_v to_o be_v do_v and_o such_o thing_n ought_v to_o be_v leave_v undo_v yet_o rather_o than_o they_o will_v endure_v reproach_n they_o be_v content_a to_o part_v with_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o conscience_n second_o be_v not_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n a_o rich_a jewel_n a_o precious_a
happiness_n at_o all_o but_o beside_o it_o have_v a_o kind_n of_o infinite_a capacity_n whereby_o it_o be_v make_v capable_a of_o the_o high_a happiness_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o capacity_n of_o object_n of_o it_o but_o truth_n in_o general_a take_v truth_n in_o the_o utmost_a latitude_n of_o it_o in_o the_o universality_n of_o it_o that_o be_v the_o object_n of_o man_n understanding_n and_o therefore_o the_o understanding_n be_v infinite_a because_o it_o be_v not_o satisfy_v in_o this_o or_o that_o particular_a but_o truth_n in_o the_o utmost_a extent_n and_o for_o the_o object_n of_o the_o will_n it_o be_v good_a in_o the_o general_n it_o be_v not_o this_o or_o that_o particular_a good_a but_o good_a in_o the_o universality_n of_o its_o nature_n and_o therefore_o till_o it_o come_v to_o enjoy_v god_n that_o do_v eminent_o contain_v all_o good_a in_o he_o it_o can_v never_o come_v to_o have_v full_a satisfaction_n and_o here_o observe_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o capacity_n of_o man_n nature_n and_o the_o capacity_n of_o other_o creature_n as_o for_o other_o creature_n their_o faculty_n can_v extend_v no_o further_o than_o some_o particular_a good_a and_o they_o be_v limit_v within_o the_o narrow_a bound_n of_o their_o own_o nature_n and_o therefore_o if_o so_o be_v the_o eye_n have_v colour_n it_o go_v no_o further_o and_o if_o the_o ear_n have_v sound_a it_o go_v no_o further_o and_o so_o taste_v it_o go_v no_o further_a than_o some_o particular_a good_a but_o the_o intelligent_a soul_n the_o rational_a soul_n go_v beyond_o all_o particular_n now_o god_n have_v make_v man_n nature_n of_o such_o a_o capacity_n for_o good_a and_o happiness_n certain_o god_n intend_v great_a thing_n for_o the_o child_n of_o man_n other_o manner_n of_o thing_n than_o there_o be_v in_o this_o world_n and_o if_o for_o any_o sure_o for_o the_o righteous_a three_o sure_o there_o be_v a_o reward_n because_o it_o be_v the_o 3._o great_a design_n that_o god_n have_v in_o the_o make_n of_o the_o world_n in_o all_o his_o work_n to_o lift_v up_o and_o advance_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o mercy_n and_o grace_n now_o if_o this_o be_v god_n great_a design_n to_o advance_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o infinite_a mercy_n then_o certain_o there_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o glorious_a condition_n for_o some_o of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n for_o that_o be_v not_o yet_o do_v though_o there_o be_v something_o of_o god_n mercy_n manifest_v that_o we_o have_v cause_n to_o admire_v at_o yet_o certain_o god_n do_v not_o reveal_v that_o in_o the_o world_n whereby_o he_o shall_v attain_v to_o the_o great_a design_n of_o lift_v up_o of_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o great_a name_n four_o the_o chief_a of_o the_o deep_a infinite_a counsel_n of_o god_n and_o the_o work_n of_o his_o wisdom_n that_o have_v be_v 4._o from_o all_o eternity_n have_v be_v and_o be_v yet_o exercise_v about_o this_o especial_o namely_o to_o bring_v mankind_n to_o his_o sin_n yea_o deliver_v not_o only_o from_o the_o sin_n that_o we_o have_v but_o from_o the_o very_a savour_n of_o sin_n and_o from_o all_o the_o remainder_n of_o sin_n a_o man_n may_v be_v deliver_v out_o of_o prison_n but_o he_o may_v smell_v of_o the_o prison_n man_n may_v be_v heal_v of_o a_o wound_n and_o yet_o have_v a_o scar_n remain_v so_o it_o be_v with_o god_n people_n here_o they_o be_v deliver_v from_o the_o guilt_n and_o power_n of_o their_o sin_n but_o they_o smell_v of_o their_o prison_n garment_n and_o there_o be_v some_o scar_n upon_o they_o but_o all_o the_o smell_n and_o scar_n of_o our_o sin_n shall_v be_v take_v from_o we_o yea_o deliver_v from_o the_o very_a possibility_n of_o sin_n to_o be_v in_o a_o estate_n without_o sin_n be_v a_o bless_a estate_n but_o to_o be_v in_o a_o estate_n wherein_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o possibility_n to_o sin_n that_o be_v a_o bless_a condition_n indeed_o it_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o misery_n that_o a_o godly_a man_n count_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o not_o only_o that_o he_o do_v sin_n but_o that_o he_o may_v sin_v that_o he_o have_v a_o possibility_n to_o sin_n but_o to_o be_v free_a from_o that_o that_o be_v a_o bless_a condition_n and_o this_o be_v the_o happiness_n of_o god_n himself_o that_o there_o be_v no_o possibility_n that_o he_o shall_v do_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o least_o degree_n to_o sin_n and_o as_o they_o be_v deliver_v from_o sin_n so_o from_o sorrow_n for_o that_o be_v the_o immediate_a consequent_a of_o sin_n all_o tear_n shall_v be_v wipe_v from_o their_o eye_n and_o as_o from_o moral_a evil_n so_o from_o natural_a evil_n from_o external_a and_o internal_a evil_n from_o all_o weakness_n of_o part_n and_o from_o all_o pain_n and_o sickness_n and_o deformity_n from_o all_o labour_n all_o encumbrance_n here_o in_o the_o world_n free_v from_o the_o company_n and_o madness_n and_o opposition_n and_o tyranny_n and_o injustice_n of_o wicked_a man_n they_o shall_v be_v above_o satan_n
