and_o precept_n as_o appear_v in_o deut._n 6._o 13._o thou_o shall_v fear_v the_o lord_n thy_o 13._o deut._n 6._o 13._o god_n and_o serve_v he_o and_o shall_v swear_v by_o his_o name_n yea_o the_o apostle_n testify_v upon_o necessity_n a_o oath_n to_o be_v a_o very_a good_a thing_n a_o oath_n say_v he_o for_o confirmation_n 16._o hebr._n 6._o 16._o be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o strife_n thus_o by_o conceit_a exposition_n will_v this_o sect_n of_o people_n bring_v christ_n to_o abrogate_v his_o father_n law_n and_o derogate_v from_o his_o father_n glory_n scripture_n a_o proud_a spirit_n perjury_n and_o false_a swear_v by_o the_o name_n of_o god_n but_o also_o all_o rash_a and_o ordinary_a swear_v in_o our_o common_a talk_n whether_o by_o the_o name_n of_o god_n or_o any_o of_o his_o creature_n because_o swear_v amiss_o by_o they_o redound_v to_o his_o dishonour_n he_o therefore_o here_o forbid_v all_o needless_a and_o superfluous_a scripture_n all_o needless_a swear_n be_v much_o forbid_v in_o the_o scripture_n oath_n in_o our_o ordinary_a communication_n and_o as_o these_o do_v err_v not_o know_v nor_o understand_v the_o scripture_n so_o do_v many_o other_o as_o namely_o the_o carnal_a caviller_n that_o join_v himself_o with_o the_o public_a assembly_n partake_v of_o the_o same_o word_n and_o sacrament_n with_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n but_o this_o man_n will_v have_v one_o line_n to_o be_v sufficient_a unto_o salvation_n for_o he_o find_v it_o write_v in_o the_o scripture_n that_o nothing_o john_n 3._o 36._o natural_a man_n will_v have_v all_o but_o they_o will_v do_v nothing_o he_o which_o believe_v in_o the_o son_n have_v everlasting_a life_n but_o if_o this_o man_n read_v forward_o he_o shall_v see_v and_o find_v that_o he_o which_o obey_v not_o the_o son_n shall_v not_o see_v life_n such_o will_n like_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n but_o they_o can_v well_o brook_v the_o doctrine_n of_o repentance_n but_o if_o they_o attend_v or_o listen_v to_o hear_v they_o shall_v hear_v christ_n to_o be_v as_o rigorous_a as_o his_o father_n both_o in_o summon_v all_o man_n 5._o mark_v 1._o 15._o luke_n 13._o 5._o to_o repent_v as_o also_o in_o threaten_a woe_n against_o impenitent_n the_o apostle_n as_o they_o preach_v faith_n so_o they_o preach_v sanctification_n 38._o act_n 2._o 38._o and_o amendment_n of_o life_n for_o it_o be_v the_o absolute_a will_n
