particular_a church_n much_o more_o a_o christian_n country_n nation_n or_o kingdom_n can_v but_o contain_v in_o it_o many_o particular_a church_n all_o which_o although_o they_o have_v their_o proper_a ruler_n or_o teacher_n and_o order_n as_o free_a church_n have_v yet_o they_o have_v also_o a_o common_a government_n and_o law_n proceed_v from_o the_o civil_a power_n to_o the_o obedience_n whereof_o they_o be_v all_o bind_v for_o in_o public_a church_n the_o civil_a power_n have_v the_o great_a sway_n in_o govern_v by_o the_o which_o be_v one_o the_o whole_a church_n and_o every_o from_o the_o safety_n of_o the_o people_n of_o state_n and_o commonwealthe_n the_o ground_n square_a and_o end_n of_o all_o good_a policy_n carry_v with_o it_o such_o a_o fair_a show_n of_o equity_n and_o necessity_n that_o like_a unto_o a_o violent_a stream_n it_o have_v carry_v many_o headlong_a in_o heat_n to_o condemn_v and_o reject_v utter_o these_o absolute_a monarchy_n as_o tyrannical_a and_o barbarous_a kind_n of_o government_n pernicious_a to_o man_n yea_o altogether_o unlawful_a and_o unmeete_a for_o the_o church_n of_o god_n but_o we_o ought_v not_o to_o suffer_v ourselves_o to_o they_o have_v suffer_v they_o to_o set_v uppe_o idolatry_n which_o be_v a_o evident_a proof_n of_o this_o point_n for_o if_o it_o have_v be_v lawful_a to_o resist_v in_o any_o case_n then_o sure_o in_o the_o maintenance_n of_o the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n and_o of_o his_o glory_n but_o hereof_o there_o be_v a_o great_a question_n make_v for_o although_o this_o king_n have_v power_n in_o civil_a matter_n to_o do_v not_o only_o right_a &_o justice_n without_o the_o help_n of_o any_o other_o power_n but_o also_o wrong_a without_o resistance_n shall_v we_o therefore_o give_v unto_o he_o this_o power_n in_o the_o cause_n of_o religion_n that_o he_o may_v deface_v the_o worship_n of_o god_n at_o his_o pleasure_n it_o may_v seem_v much_o better_a that_o not_o only_a king_n shall_v be_v appoint_v by_o god_n to_o be_v the_o last_o period_n of_o it_o or_o rather_o of_o the_o outward_a and_o worldly_a show_n of_o it_o christ._n for_o in_o truth_n it_o stand_v yet_o in_o christ_n and_o shall_v stand_v till_o that_o christ_n give_v up_o all_o his_o power_n of_o government_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o father_n for_o if_o we_o set_v aside_o the_o defection_n of_o the_o ten_o tribe_n which_o be_v near_o to_o the_o begin_n of_o this_o kingdom_n and_o be_v do_v by_o the_o special_a work_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v find_v that_o this_o kingdom_n be_v so_o firm_o establish_v that_o the_o people_n never_o offer_v to_o make_v any_o alteration_n of_o the_o estate_n for_o in_o that_o they_o go_v about_o to_o make_v absalon_n king_n they_o be_v persuade_v that_o they_o do_v king_n 17.41_o yet_o these_o samaritan_n be_v not_o a_o church_n for_o they_o do_v only_o in_o their_o mind_n slavish_o fear_v god_n but_o all_o their_o outward_a worship_n be_v do_v unto_o idol_n sect._n 11._o of_o a_o church_n corrupt_v in_o doctrine_n now_o we_o be_v to_o inquire_v how_o far_o a_o people_n may_v be_v corrupt_a in_o doctrine_n and_o yet_o remain_v a_o church_n whereunto_o particular_a church_n and_o therefore_o if_o it_o please_v the_o civil_a ruler_n to_o call_v any_o who_o do_v perform_v some_o ordinary_a ministry_n in_o some_o particular_a church_n to_o this_o office_n of_o overseeing_a many_o church_n he_o do_v nothing_o but_o that_o which_o be_v agreeable_a to_o reason_n and_o warrantable_a by_o the_o word_n of_o god._n for_o man_n have_v take_v upon_o
