to_o prove_v scripture_n the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o have_v all_o to_o do_v when_o he_o have_v end_v for_o if_o i_o shall_v grant_v that_o he_o call_v his_o ministry_n or_o that_o of_o and_o from_o which_o he_o minister_v the_o word_n yet_o that_o do_v not_o prove_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o word_n because_o the_o life_n and_o spirit_n of_o his_o ministry_n be_v not_o contain_v in_o the_o scripture_n or_o if_o i_o shall_v acknowledge_v the_o gospel_n to_o be_v the_o word_n yet_o that_o do_v not_o prove_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o word_n for_o the_o gospel_n be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v rom._n 1.16_o and_o so_o be_v not_o the_o scripture_n and_o the_o gospel_n be_v everlasting_a but_o the_o scripture_n be_v not_o so_o but_o j.n._n will_v make_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o word_n the_o gospel_n the_o ministry_n and_o all_o and_o jumble_v all_o together_o and_o then_o say_v the_o apostle_n call_v it_o so_o when_o the_o apostle_n say_v no_o such_o thing_n but_o speak_v of_o his_o ministry_n and_o of_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n and_o of_o the_o word_n which_o endure_v forever_o which_o by_o the_o gospel_n the_o power_n be_v preach_v unto_o they_o 1_o pet._n 1.25_o and_o as_o to_o that_o question_n what_o word_n of_o god_n be_v this_o that_o he_o have_v not_o handle_v deceitful_o answ_n i_o in_o the_o beast_n and_o false_a prophet_n that_o carry_v the_o whore_n have_v always_o drink_v and_o many_o faithful_a martyr_n of_o jesus_n in_o time_n past_a have_v seal_v their_o testimony_n against_o this_o false_a church_n of_o apostate_n christian_n in_o which_o this_o antichristian_a spirit_n rule_v even_o with_o their_o very_a life_n though_o they_o do_v not_o see_v nor_o understand_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v now_o see_v and_o understand_v by_o many_o yet_o bless_v be_v the_o lord_n they_o be_v by_o his_o power_n and_o spirit_n so_o furnish_v and_o sustain_v and_o so_o fill_v with_o love_n to_o god_n and_o his_o cause_n and_o with_o zeal_n against_o the_o false_a church_n and_o her_o antichristian_a imposition_n and_o idolatry_n that_o they_o love_v not_o their_o life_n unto_o death_n but_o lay_v down_o their_o life_n with_o cheerfulness_n as_o a_o testimony_n against_o they_o and_o so_o through_o faith_n have_v obtain_v a_o good_a report_n among_o by_o which_o we_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o world_n and_o its_o way_n and_o work_n of_o darkness_n and_o by_o which_o we_o be_v raise_v up_o to_o be_v faithful_a and_o true_a witness_n for_o god_n and_o against_o the_o tradition_n of_o man_n by_o which_o they_o have_v make_v void_a god_n commandment_n i_o say_v in_o this_o spirit_n we_o do_v sympathize_v and_o partake_v with_o you_o both_o in_o he_o that_o so_o the_o witness_n of_o god_n in_o all_o conscience_n be_v answer_v by_o you_o both_o in_o life_n conversation_n and_o doctrine_n you_o may_v be_v a_o good_a savour_n unto_o god_n both_o s._n in_o his_o epistle_n dedicatory_a have_v make_v such_o a_o great_a noise_n about_o miracle_n wrought_v by_o a_o roman_n catholic_n priest_n in_o and_o about_o london_n and_o westminster_n yet_o when_o he_o come_v to_o prove_v that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v powerful_a in_o miracle_n than_o he_o do_v just_a as_o much_o as_o nothing_o but_o take_v a_o easy_a way_n to_o get_v out_o from_o that_o thing_n which_o seem_o he_o undertake_v to_o go_v through_o with_o by_o refer_v of_o we_o for_o a_o witness_n of_o his_o affirmation_n to_o nostre_fw-fr dame_n de_fw-fr loretto_n nostre_fw-fr dame_n de_fw-fr montague_n nostre_fw-fr dame_n de_fw-fr hall_n and_o to_o the_o whole_a world_n etc._n etc._n now_o what_o a_o pitiful_a proof_n or_o witness_n be_v this_o which_o a._n s._n direct_v we_o to_o for_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v the_o whole_a world_n lie_v in_o wickedness_n 1_o john_n 5.19_o and_o wonder_n after_o the_o beast_n by_o who_o lie_v miracle_n be_v wrought_v rev._n 13.3_o so_o that_o the_o miracle_n which_o the_o world_n bear_v witness_n to_o be_v lie_v miracle_n for_o the_o world_n know_v not_o christ_n nor_o his_o church_n 1_o joh._n 3.1_o by_o who_o true_a miracle_n be_v wrought_v for_o when_o christ_n wrought_v miracle_n among_o the_o world_n they_o do_v not_o bear_v witness_n to_o he_o but_o say_v he_o do_v it_o by_o the_o prince_n of_o devil_n they_o signify_v nothing_o as_o to_o our_o satisfaction_n in_o this_o particular_a because_o they_o be_v altogether_o unknown_a to_o we_o neither_o can_v we_o attain_v to_o a_o certain_a knowledge_n of_o they_o if_o we_o will_v for_o the_o information_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v to_o we_o no_o satisfaction_n so_o as_o i_o say_v before_o that_o a._n s._n for_o matter_n of_o prove_v his_o affirmation_n have_v do_v just_a as_o much_o as_o nothing_o only_o make_v a_o show_n like_o a_o cloud_n without_o rain_n but_o methinks_v if_o there_o be_v so_o many_o miracle_n wrought_v daily_o by_o a_o roman_a priest_n about_o london_n etc._n etc._n as_o a._n s._n seem_v to_o make_v a_o noise_n of_o he_o shall_v have_v instance_a some_o of_o they_o particular_o for_o our_o satisfaction_n but_o see_v he_o have_v not_o instance_a any_o we_o have_v just_a cause_n to_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v none_o at_o all_o nine_o so_o to_o proceed_v to_o the_o nine_o part_n of_o a._n s._n his_o first_o argument_n viz._n out_o of_o the_o true_a church_n none_o can_v be_v save_v i_o answer_v that_o thing_n i_o do_v not_o at_o all_o deny_v for_o all_o that_o be_v save_v be_v of_o the_o true_a church_n but_o that_o none_o can_v be_v save_v out_o of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n that_o i_o do_v deny_v for_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v not_o the_o true_a church_n but_o the_o whore_n that_o drink_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o saint_n as_o afore-proved_n therefore_o out_o of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n people_n may_v be_v save_v wherefore_o let_v all_o who_o expect_v or_o desire_v salvation_n make_v haste_n out_o of_o this_o great_a city_n babylon_n and_o run_v for_o your_o life_n towards_o jerusalem_n the_o holy_a city_n the_o true_a church_n the_o lamb_n wife_n not_o in_o their_o own_o account_n as_o he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o as_o a_o blasphemer_n and_o the_o apostle_n be_v persecute_v as_o spreader_n of_o heresy_n and_o shedder_n of_o sedition_n and_o not_o as_o saint_n and_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o their_o adversary_n account_v act_v 24.5_o and_o thus_o the_o murder_a persecute_v spirit_n have_v in_o all_o age_n as_o at_o this_o day_n seek_v to_o shelter_v itself_o but_o this_o cover_n must_v now_o be_v rip_v off_o for_o the_o power_n of_o god_n be_v arisen_a that_o rend_v the_o vail_n of_o darkness_n and_o the_o day_n be_v dawn_v that_o make_v all_o thing_n manifest_v 2._o and_o further_o if_o they_o be_v heretic_n etc._n etc._n who_o blood_n the_o church_n of_o rome_n drink_v yet_o that_o do_v not_o argue_v that_o she_o be_v the_o true_a church_n but_o the_o contrary_a for_o the_o true_a church_n do_v never_o drink_v the_o blood_n of_o heretic_n nor_o persecute_v any_o because_o they_o be_v heretic_n but_o believe_v nor_o yet_o because_o after_o they_o believe_v they_o make_v shipwreck_n of_o faith_n but_o labour_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o love_n and_o meekness_n to_o restore_v they_o and_o to_o convince_v they_o by_o sound_a doctrine_n but_o if_o they_o refuse_v to_o receive_v admonition_n or_o to_o submit_v to_o the_o church_n after_o due_a admonition_n give_v than_o they_o let_v they_o receive_v the_o punishment_n aforesaid_a and_o refuse_v to_o have_v fellowship_n with_o they_o and_o this_o be_v the_o great_a punishment_n that_o ever_o the_o true_a church_n inflict_v upon_o any_o though_o they_o be_v rebellious_a and_o this_o be_v the_o way_n to_o make_v true_a believer_n of_o people_n which_o force_n and_o compulsion_n by_o penal_a law_n will_v never_o do_v though_o its_o true_a compulsive_a law_n may_v make_v many_o of_o they_o hypocrite_n who_o fear_v man_n more_o than_o god_n but_o they_o who_o fear_v not_o man_n that_o can_v kill_v the_o body_n and_o can_v do_v no_o more_o but_o fear_v the_o lord_n god_n almighty_a above_o all_o such_o will_v not_o bow_v to_o the_o compulsive_a law_n of_o man_n which_o violate_v the_o righteous_a law_n of_o god_n in_o their_o own_o heart_n no_o more_o than_o shadrach_n meshach_n and_o abednego_n will_v bow_v to_o the_o image_n that_o nebuchadnezar_n set_v up_o though_o for_o their_o steadfastness_n they_o suffer_v the_o pang_n of_o death_n as_o many_o of_o their_o predecessor_n
what_o he_o shall_v preach_v and_o the_o person_n distinct_o to_o who_o he_o shall_v preach_v and_o give_v they_o instruction_n in_o the_o 5_o verse_n that_o they_o shall_v walk_v to_o the_o doctrine_n or_o teach_v answerable_o and_o the_o reason_n he_o give_v be_v this_o lest_o the_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v blaspheme_v so_o that_o the_o doctrine_n he_o give_v in_o charge_n to_o name_n they_o who_o keep_v the_o word_n deny_v not_o as_o before_o show_v for_o if_o they_o shall_v not_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o word_n which_o they_o teach_v the_o ignorant_a that_o be_v without_o or_o they_o that_o watch_v for_o iniquity_n may_v be_v ready_a to_o judge_v that_o there_o be_v a_o difficiency_n in_o the_o word_n by_o which_o they_o be_v teach_v or_o in_o the_o name_n which_o they_o profess_v and_o walk_v in_o and_o so_o be_v encourage_v to_o slight_v and_o speak_v evil_a of_o the_o same_o and_o thereby_o the_o word_n by_o which_o they_o be_v teach_v may_v be_v blaspheme_v through_o their_o not_o walk_v according_o to_o the_o doctrine_n thereof_o who_o make_v a_o profession_n of_o it_o so_o that_o the_o apostle_n in_o say_v lest_o the_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v blaspheme_v do_v not_o at_o all_o call_v the_o doctrine_n the_o word_n nor_o do_v this_o in_o the_o least_o serve_v to_o prove_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v proper_o call_v the_o word_n of_o god_n although_o thereupon_o j._n n._n thus_o conclude_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o evident_a than_o this_o glorious_a and_o save_a truth_n that_o the_o scripture_n or_o two_o testament_n etc._n etc._n be_v proper_o and_o principal_o call_v the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o what_o the_o scripture_n offer_v by_o he_o with_o his_o argument_n thereupon_o which_o i_o have_v before_o state_v and_o answer_v do_v make_v for_o his_o purpose_n i_o shall_v leave_v to_o the_o true_o judicious_a and_o impartial_a reader_n to_o judge_v the_o next_o thing_n say_v j.n._n i_o shall_v insist_v upon_o be_v the_o reason_n for_o the_o confirmation_n of_o this_o point_n or_o gracious_a truth_n that_o i_o have_v assert_v etc._n etc._n and_o i_o shall_v labour_v to_o show_v that_o all_o those_o place_n that_o i_o have_v bring_v to_o prove_v scripture_n to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n will_v stand_v firm_a etc._n etc._n answ_n all_o the_o scripture_n which_o he_o have_v bring_v i_o have_v already_o before_o examine_v and_o explain_v and_o i_o can_v but_o look_v upon_o it_o as_o superfluous_a to_o go_v twice_o over_o with_o one_o work_n as_o j._n n._n have_v do_v for_o that_o which_o be_v unsound_a or_o not_o right_a in_o the_o ground_n bottom_n or_o foundation_n can_v never_o be_v make_v sound_n or_o right_o by_o repetition_n but_o the_o subject_a before_o state_v by_o j.n._n be_v unsound_a and_o not_o true_a as_o before_o prove_v and_o therefore_o can_v never_o be_v make_v sound_n and_o true_a by_o repetition_n for_o which_o cause_n as_o also_o upon_o consideration_n that_o this_o same_o subject_a have_v be_v already_o oft_o state_v and_o answer_v to_o by_o several_a of_o we_o as_o be_v notorious_o evident_a by_o several_a book_n now_o in_o print_n i_o look_v upon_o it_o as_o i_o say_v before_o superfluous_a to_o go_v over_o with_o the_o repetition_n of_o j._n n._n it_o be_v chief_o but_o a_o repetition_n of_o the_o above_o site_v scripture_n paraphaise_v upon_o once_o more_o by_o he_o which_o i_o have_v before_o examine_v and_o speak_v to_o and_o therefore_o shall_v omit_v take_v further_a notice_n thereof_o at_o this_o time_n and_o proceed_v to_o his_o next_o subject_n or_o assertion_n in_o the_o 22th_o and_o 23th_o page_n of_o his_o book_n where_o he_o speak_v as_o follow_v concern_v scripture_n be_v a_o perfect_a rule_n for_o the_o apostle_n
will_n follow_v deny_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n without_o this_o say_v he_o we_o know_v not_o that_o there_o be_v any_o god_n or_o christ_n etc._n etc._n neither_o do_v we_o know_v what_o god_n count_v unclean_a or_o what_o he_o count_v holy_a etc._n etc._n answ_n if_o by_o what_o god_n count_v unclean_a and_o what_o holy_a he_o mean_v the_o thing_n appertain_v to_o the_o be_v to_o be_v subject_a to_o some_o call_n of_o it_o by_o one_o name_n and_o some_o another_o but_o while_o they_o acknowledge_v the_o thing_n it_o be_v sufficient_a to_o signify_v that_o if_o the_o scripture_n be_v not_o in_o be_v yet_o people_n may_v know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o god_n and_o they_o be_v not_o only_o in_o the_o capacity_n that_o the_o gentile_n be_v who_o know_v and_o confess_v that_o there_o be_v a_o god_n and_o show_v forth_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n write_v in_o their_o heart_n but_o also_o in_o the_o capacity_n that_o the_o father_n of_o old_a be_v who_o do_v not_o only_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o god_n but_o know_v the_o only_a true_a god_n and_o be_v the_o acceptable_a worshipper_n of_o he_o before_o scripture_n be_v write_v and_o these_o thing_n i_o and_o strength_n in_o the_o inward_a part_n by_o its_o own_o operation_n for_o the_o beget_n of_o faith_n in_o and_o concern_v itself_o in_o all_o that_o hear_v and_o receive_v it_o this_o i_o say_v be_v not_o to_o be_v shun_v but_o adhere_v unto_o by_o all_o as_o unto_o the_o author_n of_o true_a faith_n see_v faith_n come_v by_o hear_v and_o hear_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o
