transcendency_n that_o be_v in_o the_o doctrine_n and_o providence_n both_o be_v do_v for_o the_o transcendency_n of_o these_o doctrine_n and_o providence_n as_o have_v be_v already_o show_v exciting_a the_o faith_n and_o patience_n of_o some_o do_v far_o their_o salvation_n and_o as_o they_o be_v stumbling-block_n in_o the_o way_n of_o other_o they_o occasion_n the_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n of_o other_o these_o transcendent_a doctrine_n and_o providence_n must_v be_v consider_v as_o stumbling-block_n that_o god_n put_v in_o their_o way_n not_o that_o there_o be_v any_o evil_n in_o god_n put_v they_o in_o the_o way_n but_o the_o evil_n be_v only_o from_o the_o indisposition_n of_o the_o corrupt_a heart_n of_o man_n for_o the_o clear_a understanding_n which_o we_o must_v consider_v that_o there_o be_v certain_o such_o a_o decree_n as_o that_o of_o the_o election_n of_o some_o particular_a person_n unto_o glory_n which_o do_v necessary_o infer_v the_o dereliction_n of_o other_o the_o leave_v they_o in_o a_o state_n of_o sin_n and_o misery_n some_o being_n elect_v according_a to_o the_o foreknowledge_n of_o god_n the_o father_n shall_v through_o the_o sanctification_n of_o the_o spirit_n unto_o obedience_n and_o the_o sprinkle_n of_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n obtain_v salvation_n with_o eternal_a glory_n but_o other_o there_o be_v even_o ungodly_a man_n who_o turn_v the_o grace_n of_o our_o god_n into_o lasciviousness_n and_o who_o be_v of_o old_a ordain_v unto_o condemnation_n the_o salvation_n of_o some_o the_o damnation_n of_o other_o be_v acknowledge_v by_o all_o to_o be_v certain_a as_o to_o the_o event_n and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o event_n in_o time_n but_o what_o be_v foreknow_v of_o god_n from_o eternity_n be_v not_o deny_v by_o any_o that_o believe_v god_n to_o be_v god_n and_o that_o these_o event_n can_v be_v without_o a_o providence_n of_o god_n be_v most_o manifest_a it_o be_v true_a god_n have_v a_o great_a influence_n on_o the_o elect_n than_o on_o other_o for_o god_n do_v not_o only_o support_v their_o power_n and_o faculty_n and_o by_o a_o physical_a efficience_n enable_v they_o to_o perform_v what_o be_v natural_a in_o their_o moral_a action_n but_o moreover_o god_n do_v by_o his_o mighty_a power_n in_o infinite_a wisdom_n sweet_o determine_v the_o elect_a to_o the_o do_v what_o be_v moral_o good_a and_o save_o gracious_a god_n do_v not_o so_o much_o in_o such_o action_n as_o be_v sinful_a and_o vicious_a the_o moral_a vitiosity_n or_o obliquity_n that_o be_v in_o a_o sinful_a action_n be_v not_o of_o god_n though_o what_o be_v natural_a in_o a_o sinful_a action_n have_v its_o origin_n and_o rise_v from_o god_n yet_o what_o be_v moral_a and_o vicious_a be_v not_o from_o god_n god_n do_v not_o physical_o and_o invincible_o determine_v any_o man_n to_o what_o be_v sinful_a in_o any_o action_n the_o sinfulness_n of_o a_o action_n have_v no_o high_o be_v than_o a_o creature_n for_o its_o author_n however_o though_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o damn_a be_v without_o a_o divine_a physical_a predetermination_n yet_o not_o without_o a_o divine_a providence_n there_o be_v no_o event_n without_o a_o providence_n of_o god_n as_o all_o event_n be_v according_a to_o the_o foreknowledge_n of_o god_n so_o they_o be_v by_o his_o providence_n the_o destruction_n of_o pharaoh_n in_o the_o red_a sea_n according_a to_o the_o foreknowledge_n of_o god_n and_o the_o hardness_n of_o his_o heart_n that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o ruin_n be_v by_o god_n providence_n this_o providence_n be_v somewhat_o more_o than_o a_o mere_a unconcerned_a permission_n and_o yet_o much_o less_o than_o a_o physical_a predetermination_n it_o fall_v short_a of_o this_o latter_a because_o god_n have_v no_o physical_a influence_n on_o the_o sinfulness_n of_o our_o action_n and_o it_o be_v more_o than_o the_o former_a for_o the_o wisdom_n and_o power_n of_o god_n be_v marvellous_o exercise_v in_o do_v very_o much_o towards_o the_o bring_v the_o event_n to_o pass_v and_o that_o by_o lay_v stumble_a block_n in_o the_o way_n of_o the_o non-elect_a which_o stumble_v block_n in_o our_o way_n may_v occasion_v our_o sin_n and_o ruin_n but_o not_o cause_v it_o so_o that_o although_o the_o lord_n do_v lay_v stone_n of_o stumble_v in_o our_o way_n which_o occasion_n our_o sin_n yet_o he_o can_v be_v say_v to_o be_v the_o cause_n or_o author_n of_o our_o sin_n no_o one_o be_v the_o cause_n or_o author_n of_o another_o sin_n but_o he_o who_o do_v either_o physical_o or_o moral_o contribute_v to_o the_o commission_n of_o sin_n but_o though_o god_n lay_v stone_n of_o stumble_v before_o the_o sinner_n yet_o he_o do_v not_o in_o do_v so_o either_o moral_o by_o persuasion_n draw_v or_o physical_o by_o impression_n drive_v he_o to_o the_o sin_n the_o stumble_a block_n be_v before_o he_o and_o from_o it_o the_o sinner_n take_v occasion_n to_o sin_n against_o the_o lord_n though_o such_o be_v the_o infinite_a knowledge_n and_o wisdom_n of_o god_n that_o he_o foreknow_v that_o such_o a_o block_n in_o the_o sinner_n way_n will_v occasion_v his_o sin_n and_o notwithstanding_o put_v it_o in_o his_o way_n yet_o he_o be_v not_o therefore_o the_o author_n of_o his_o sin_n because_o god_n do_v not_o hereby_o either_o physical_o or_o moral_o move_v the_o sinner_n to_o the_o sin_n for_o the_o sinner_n have_v a_o natural_a power_n to_o withstand_v it_o it_o be_v his_o wilfulness_n and_o sin_n he_o do_v not_o that_o god_n do_v lay_v stone_n of_o stumble_v before_o we_o be_v evident_a enough_o to_o any_o who_o will_v consult_v the_o sacred_a scripture_n in_o ezekiel_n 3.20_o it_o be_v say_v that_o god_n do_v lay_v a_o stumble_a block_n before_o the_o man_n who_o be_v external_o righteous_a and_o he_o turn_v from_o his_o righteousness_n unto_o sin_n and_o die_v in_o his_o iniquity_n this_o will_v appear_v more_o convince_o in_o the_o instance_n i_o will_v give_v concern_v it_o the_o discovery_n that_o be_v make_v of_o god_n gracious_a design_n towards_o we_o be_v about_o such_o matter_n as_o do_v amuse_v we_o whoever_o will_v
