〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d whereby_o to_o judge_v the_o case_n which_o my_o text_n here_o present_v for_o he_o that_o have_v suffer_v in_o the_o flesh_n have_v cease_v from_o sin_n the_o word_n make_v a_o single_a proposition_n and_o therefore_o can_v well_o be_v take_v asunder_o nor_o indeed_o need_v they_o the_o term_n be_v very_o well_o understand_v the_o subject_a every_o one_o be_v willing_a to_o assume_v to_o himself_o no_o one_o i_o believe_v that_o hear_v i_o but_o will_v say_v he_o have_v suffer_v in_o the_o flesh._n therefore_o we_o have_v no_o more_o to_o do_v but_o to_o see_v whether_o the_o other_o term_n agree_v as_o universal_o which_o certain_o it_o must_v if_o our_o proposition_n here_o hold_v good_a if_o he_o that_o have_v suffer_v in_o the_o flesh_n have_v cease_v from_o sin_n therefore_o in_o order_n to_o this_o i_o shall_v offer_v at_o three_o thing_n first_o discourse_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o proposition_n in_o general_n and_o see_v if_o we_o can_v discern_v how_o necessary_a and_o how_o effectual_a this_o instrument_n of_o reformation_n be_v whether_o it_o be_v such_o as_o may_v build_v a_o confidence_n of_o assert_v that_o he_o who_o have_v suffer_v have_v cease_v from_o sin_n second_o because_o discourse_v in_o general_n be_v not_o so_o practical_a and_o useful_a i_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o discover_v in_o particular_a by_o what_o artifice_n of_o method_n the_o flesh_n engage_v man_n into_o course_n of_o sin_n and_o how_o it_o work_v they_o up_o to_o the_o height_n of_o it_o and_o then_o see_v how_o suffering_n blast_v that_o method_n and_o make_v the_o art_n of_o the_o flesh_n either_o unpracticable_a or_o too_o weak_a three_o i_o will_v attempt_v to_o view_v our_o own_o concern_v in_o all_o this_o propose_v to_o consideration_n whether_o this_o method_n have_v have_v this_o effect_n on_o we_o or_o whether_o indeed_o it_o be_v as_o easy_a to_o confute_v god_n word_n as_o to_o break_v his_o commandment_n and_o contrive_v that_o his_o truth_n shall_v no_o more_o stand_v than_o his_o will_n do_v but_o notwithstanding_o scripture_n bold_a affirmation_n here_o yet_o they_o that_o have_v suffer_v have_v not_o cease_v from_o sin_n and_o if_o so_o then_o to_o propose_v the_o danger_n and_o infer_v christ_n application_n that_o at_o least_o we_o begin_v to_o cease_v and_o sin_n no_o more_o lest_o a_o worse_a earth_n not_o spring_n with_o garden_n any_o more_o but_o bring_v forth_o thorn_n and_o brier_n that_o may_v scratch_v and_o tear_v man_n in_o the_o pursuit_n of_o thing_n below_o which_o if_o the_o soul_n shall_v cleave_v and_o cling_v unto_o the_o earth_n may_v gore_v and_o stab_v it_o in_o the_o embrace_n nothing_o but_o suffering_n will_v do_v we_o good_a the_o earth_n be_v most_o accurse_v
