there_o in_o heaven_n or_o earth_n that_o be_v able_a to_o work_v they_o in_o you_o there_o be_v none_o but_o jesus_n christ_n and_o unless_o you_o have_v he_o to_o be_v in_o you_o you_o can_v have_v any_o of_o these_o thing_n wrought_v in_o you_o but_o will_v a_o poor_a soul_n say_v i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o reach_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n therefore_o all_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n in_o such_o a_o case_n may_v support_v his_o soul_n but_o do_v not_o lead_v a_o man_n in_o such_o a_o case_n to_o see_v his_o faith_n or_o any_o other_o qualification_n therein_o to_o satisfy_v himself_o but_o if_o i_o will_v help_v and_o comfort_v such_o a_o soul_n i_o will_v declare_v to_o he_o what_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v for_o we_o in_o christ_n i_o will_v show_v he_o all_o the_o treasure_n of_o the_o rich_a grace_n of_o christ_n i_o will_v set_v in_o order_n before_o he_o how_o he_o love_v free_o without_o any_o desert_n in_o we_o i_o will_v tell_v he_o how_o free_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n do_v invite_v man_n to_o come_v to_o he_o that_o have_v neither_o money_n nor_o money_n worth_a and_o if_o the_o lord_n take_v delight_n to_o do_v he_o good_a which_o god_n have_v wrought_v for_o we_o and_o what_o goodness_n of_o god_n be_v reserve_v to_o every_o poor_a servant_n of_o he_o and_o what_o be_v the_o riches_n of_o his_o glorious_a inheritance_n in_o his_o saint_n and_o what_o be_v the_o exceed_a greatness_n of_o his_o power_n to_o usward_o who_o believe_v even_o that_o mighty_a power_n which_o he_o do_v put_v forth_o to_o bring_v we_o to_o sanctification_n our_o calling_n be_v to_o be_v exercise_v in_o they_o all_o until_o at_o length_n all_o their_o enemy_n be_v subdue_v and_o death_n at_o length_n swallow_v up_o in_o victory_n this_o the_o apostle_n pray_v for_o that_o their_o eye_n may_v be_v open_v to_o behold_v all_o these_o mystery_n and_o thus_o do_v the_o holy_a ghost_n clear_v up_o our_o understanding_n and_o the_o for_o we_o but_o how_o do_v the_o holy_a ghost_n work_v these_o thing_n quest_n indeed_o they_o be_v unconceivable_a mystery_n better_o feel_v then_o tell_v the_o spirit_n do_v reveal_v himself_o partly_o in_o witness_v unto_o our_o spiritual_a estate_n answ_n and_o partly_o by_o reveal_v all_o other_o counsel_n of_o his_o truth_n needful_a for_o we_o to_o know_v in_o this_o our_o age_n and_o time_n wherein_o any_o christian_a man_n
teach_v and_o none_o like_o he_o 1_o joh._n 2.20_o 27._o you_o have_v a_o unction_n from_o the_o holy_a one_o and_o you_o know_v all_o thing_n etc._n etc._n and_o in_o this_o respect_n every_o christian_n be_v a_o seal_a one_o of_o god_n more_o or_o less_o when_o as_o the_o angel_n be_v send_v to_o set_v the_o seal_n of_o god_n upon_o his_o servant_n revel_v 7.2_o 3._o he_o do_v not_o thy_o sanctification_n be_v in_o truth_n unless_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n do_v clear_a up_o these_o thing_n unto_o thy_o soul_n though_o thou_o have_v many_o promise_n before_o thou_o yet_o unless_o the_o lord_n by_o his_o spirit_n apply_v they_o thou_o can_v not_o see_v thy_o right_n in_o they_o but_o be_v not_o that_o my_o sin_n object_n it_o be_v your_o sin_n answ_n but_o it_o be_v such_o a_o sin_n as_o the_o power_n of_o the_o creature_n can_v help_v you_o out_o of_o for_o unless_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v to_o discover_v jesus_n christ_n unto_o you_o and_o your_o faith_n in_o he_o earnest_n for_o answer_v answ_n he_o be_v call_v a_o earnest_n in_o two_o respect_n 1._o first_o as_o he_o bind_v the_o bargain_n between_o god_n and_o the_o soul_n he_o do_v confirm_v all_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n to_o we_o and_o fasten_v they_o upon_o our_o heart_n and_o settle_v our_o heart_n with_o a_o unmovable_a faith_n god_n have_v give_v we_o his_o spirit_n do_v give_v we_o all_o in_o he_o for_o he_o bind_v our_o union_n with_o christ_n and_o our_o relation_n to_o the_o father_n the_o covenant_n of_o god_n grace_n unto_o we_o and_o we_o unto_o it_o the_o gospel_n to_o we_o and_o we_o unto_o the_o gospel_n 2._o second_o he_o be_v a_o earnest_n as_o he_o be_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o payment_n if_o a_o man_n give_v a_o pledge_n he_o mean_v to_o take_v his_o pledge_n again_o but_o if_o he_o give_v money_n in_o earnest_n he_o mean_v not_o to_o take_v that_o again_o for_o it_o be_v part_n of_o the_o payment_n and_o the_o whole_a be_v but_o a_o great_a payment_n of_o the_o same_o kind_n so_o in_o like_a manner_n what_o be_v all_o our_o inheritance_n sure_o a_o fullness_n of_o the_o fruition_n of_o god_n the_o father_n and_o of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o of_o the_o bless_a spirit_n of_o god_n this_o be_v all_o our_o inheritance_n that_o we_o look_v for_o in_o another_o world_n eph._n 1.14_o he_o be_v the_o earnest_n of_o our_o inheritance_n until_o the_o redemption_n of_o the_o purchase_a possession_n unto_o the_o praise_n of_o his_o glory_n here_o we_o have_v but_o a_o little_a portion_n of_o the_o spirit_n a_o little_a earnest-peny_n but_o this_o little_a portion_n be_v a_o assurance_n unto_o we_o that_o he_o will_v make_v it_o up_o until_o we_o be_v able_a to_o receive_v no_o more_o now_o for_o application_n of_o this_o point_n use_v 1_o let_v it_o first_o teach_v we_o how_o to_o speak_v of_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o spirit_n all_o those_o that_o desire_v to_o speak_v the_o language_n of_o canaan_n no_o man_n have_v part_n in_o christ_n but_o he_o have_v the_o seal_n of_o the_o spirit_n also_o for_o if_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v not_o give_v thou_o christ_n in_o this_o or_o that_o promise_n thou_o can_v never_o
