sign_n bread_n and_o wine_n the_o substance_n or_o thing_n signify_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n of_o both_o which_o the_o regenerate_a communicate_v but_o the_o unregenerate_a although_o acknowledge_v the_o common_a faith_n they_o of_o bread_n and_o wine_n the_o sign_n only_o and_o this_o be_v plain_o prove_v by_o the_o apostle_n by_o the_o instance_n he_o give_v to_o the_o corinthian_n 1_o cor._n 10._o 1_o 2_o 3_o 4_o 5._o the_o multitude_n as_o well_o as_o the_o faithful_a they_o pass_v through_o the_o sea_n they_o have_v equal_a benefit_n of_o the_o cool_a moist_a cloud_n in_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o day_n and_o of_o the_o light_n hot_a burn_a pillar_n in_o the_o dark_a cold_a night_n and_o sustain_v both_o with_o the_o same_o manna_n angel_n food_n and_o yet_o none_o do_v communicate_v of_o the_o spiritual_a substance_n the_o rock_n and_o truth_n but_o such_o as_o be_v spiritual_a and_o thereby_o can_v by_o faith_n eat_v christ_n flesh_n and_o drink_v his_o blood_n and_o all_o the_o regenerate_a and_o true_o faithful_a do_v so_o but_o with_o may_v of_o they_o say_v the_o apostle_n that_o be_v with_o the_o carnal_a impenitent_a provoke_a unbelieving_a part_n god_n be_v not_o well_o please_v but_o overthrow_v they_o in_o the_o wilderness_n notwithstanding_o their_o outward_a fellowship_n and_o communion_n with_o the_o faithful_a in_o the_o outward_a external_a shadow_n and_o the_o apostle_n by_o way_n of_o comparison_n seem_v to_o make_v the_o church_n of_o corinth_n and_o the_o church_n of_o the_o jew_n in_o the_o wilderness_n to_o agree_v in_o the_o like_a participation_n with_o those_o that_o communicate_v as_o in_o the_o thing_n communicate_v both_o for_o the_o quality_n of_o person_n and_o distinction_n of_o ordinance_n and_o if_o it_o be_v not_o so_o as_o you_o will_v suppose_v than_o his_o exhortation_n be_v in_o vain_a neither_o be_v you_o idolater_n as_o some_o of_o they_o neither_o fornicator_n nor_o tempter_n nor_o murmurer_n etc._n etc._n and_o if_o faulty_a and_o unregenerate_a christian_n ought_v not_o upon_o any_o term_n to_o comunicate_v than_o the_o apostle_n in_o chap._n 11._o will_v have_v forbid_v they_o communion_n whereas_o he_o use_v only_a admonition_n and_o therefore_o as_o for_o the_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a christian_n the_o spiritual_a part_n of_o the_o sacrament_n be_v peculiar_a so_o the_o external_a and_o common_a part_n be_v for_o such_o christian_n as_o be_v but_o outward_a and_o common_a and_o ordain_v for_o they_o as_o for_o the_o saint_n as_o before_o have_v be_v show_v his_o second_o supposition_n if_o unregenerate_a man_n come_v to_o communicate_v in_o the_o sacrament_n they_o intrude_v and_o thrust_v themselves_o to_o that_o which_o god_n call_v they_o not_o to_o and_o so_o therein_o do_v that_o which_o they_o ought_v not_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v sin_n to_o such_o to_o come_v for_o so_o much_o seem_v to_o be_v imply_v by_o the_o apostle_n in_o say_v they_o discern_v not_o the_o lord_n body_n and_o so_o it_o prove_v to_o be_v punishment_n instead_o of_o nourishment_n and_o it_o may_v be_v say_v to_o they_o as_o to_o the_o guest_n that_o bid_v not_o on_o the_o wedding_n garment_n friend_n how_o come_v thou_o in_o hither_o and_o their_o intrusion_n to_o the_o lord_n table_n be_v like_o the_o false_a apostle_n and_o prophet_n thrust_v themselves_o into_o all_o the_o administration_n of_o the_o gospel_n my_o defence_n to_o your_o second_o supposition_n the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o supposition_n be_v a_o inference_n of_o the_o former_a by_o consequence_n be_v answer_v already_o and_o whereas_o you_o say_v it_o be_v a_o intrusion_n in_o the_o unregenerate_a and_o so_o a_o sin_n in_o they_o to_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n you_o must_v show_v the_o inhibition_n for_o otherwise_o the_o text_n be_v plain_a where_o there_o be_v no_o law_n there_o be_v no_o transgression_n second_o you_o instance_n the_o unclothe_v man_n come_a to_o the_o feast_n in_o the_o gospel_n i_o pray_v consider_v he_o be_v not_o condemn_v for_o come_v to_o the_o feast_n but_o for_o be_v there_o without_o a_o wedding_n garment_n for_o the_o feast_n be_v all_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n which_o christ_n have_v purchase_v and_o free_o vouchsafe_v for_o all_o man_n to_o communicate_v in_o for_o their_o salvation_n the_o come_n to_o the_o feast_n be_v the_o free_a liberty_n that_o all_o believer_n have_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o these_o ordinance_n and_o to_o be_v feed_v and_o clad_v with_o the_o bless_a spiritual_a benefit_n thereof_o be_v to_o enjoy_v the_o blessing_n and_o salvation_n that_o come_v by_o these_o mean_n ordain_v of_o god_n for_o that_o end_n but_o to_o enjoy_v the_o administration_n thereof_o and_o not_o
