perseverance_n of_o believer_n in_o their_o faith_n yea_o it_o be_v no_o way_n likely_a that_o he_o will_v have_v pray_v for_o it_o as_o he_o do_v i_o mean_v with_o so_o much_o seriousness_n and_o affectionatenesse_n of_o spirit_n if_o god_n have_v absolute_o decree_v the_o give_v of_o it_o unto_o they_o whether_o he_o have_v pray_v for_o it_o or_o no._n therefore_o 3._o and_o last_o concern_v his_o pray_n for_o peter_n that_o his_o faith_n may_v not_o fail_v which_o be_v all_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o minor_a proposition_n i_o answer_v 1._o that_o from_o hence_o it_o apparent_o follow_v that_o therefore_o peter_n faith_n 30._o §._o 30._o be_v in_o danger_n of_o fail_v or_o may_v have_v fail_v have_v not_o christ_n intercede_v for_o he_o and_o consequent_o that_o god_n have_v not_o all_o if_o not_o more_o than_o all_o that_o christ_n pray_v for_o on_o the_o behalf_n of_o peter_n faith_n and_o the_o lord_n say_v simon_n simon_n behold_v satan_n have_v desire_v to_o have_v you_o and_o of_o second_o cause_n sufficient_a to_o produce_v it_o may_v very_o possible_o come_v to_o pass_v where_o no_o decree_n of_o god_n to_o the_o contrary_n obstruct_v the_o possibility_n now_o our_o adversary_n themselves_o acknowledge_v that_o the_o faith_n of_o true_a believer_n be_v in_o itself_o faileable_a and_o in_o respect_n of_o several_a cause_n destructive_a to_o it_o may_v perish_v 4._o nor_o be_v it_o so_o clear_a from_o the_o tenor_n of_o christ_n prayer_n intimate_v by_o he_o 31._o §._o 31._o that_o he_o pray_v against_o the_o total_a fail_v of_o peter_n faith_n under_o the_o say_a temptation_n much_o less_o against_o the_o final_a fail_v of_o it_o afterward_o but_o most_o likely_a it_o be_v that_o what_o he_o pray_v for_o be_v only_o this_o that_o peter_n yield_v to_o the_o tentation_n or_o his_o be_v overcome_v by_o it_o may_v not_o extinguish_v his_o faith_n upon_o any_o such_o term_n but_o that_o he_o may_v and_o shall_v eftsoons_a recover_v it_o by_o repentance_n if_o this_o be_v that_o which_o christ_n pray_v for_o on_o his_o behalf_n then_o may_v his_o faith_n fail_v total_o under_o the_o temptation_n as_o ambrose_n among_o the_o father_n conceive_v that_o it_o do_v notwithstanding_o christ_n prayer_n though_o not_o final_o and_o that_o peter_n faith_n do_v indeed_o fail_v total_o by_o the_o force_n of_o the_o temptation_n seem_v very_o probable_a at_o least_o from_o those_o word_n of_o christ_n to_o he_o when_o thou_o be_v convert_v strengthen_v etc._n etc._n man_n be_v not_o say_v to_o be_v convert_v a_o gradu_fw-la ad_fw-la
