heretofore_o as_o they_o have_v their_o interest_n in_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n we_o be_v now_o to_o speak_v of_o they_o as_o they_o have_v interest_n in_o the_o lord_n supper_n and_o for_o to_o furnish_v this_o text_n so_o far_o forth_o as_o it_o make_v for_o our_o present_a purpose_n the_o person_n here_o speak_v of_o as_o you_o see_v be_v set_v forth_o in_o general_a term_n many_o but_o luke_n in_o his_o two_o and_o twenty_o chapter_n and_o the_o twenty_o verse_n report_v this_o say_n of_o our_o saviour_n as_o be_v speak_v with_o particular_a reference_n and_o application_n to_o the_o disciple_n the_o person_n only_o then_o present_a at_o this_o business_n this_o be_v the_o new_a testament_n in_o my_o blood_n shed_v for_o you_o matthew_n say_v for_o many_o luke_n for_o you_o of_o mathew_n meaning_n here_o when_o he_o say_v for_o many_o but_o the_o particular_a administration_n of_o this_o sacrament_n at_o that_o time_n when_o it_o be_v first_o institute_v be_v peculiar_a to_o the_o disciple_n only_o as_o they_o only_o then_o receive_v it_o and_o that_o be_v some_o part_n of_o luke_n meaning_n when_o he_o say_v for_o you_o but_o yet_o further_o also_o wheresoever_o this_o sacrament_n shall_v be_v thus_o in_o use_n and_o thus_o administer_v it_o must_v be_v do_v in_o a_o assembly_n many_o must_v be_v present_a at_o it_o and_o that_o be_v the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o other_o side_n he_o see_v that_o those_o which_o be_v true_a church_n indeed_o will_v be_v call_v into_o question_n about_o their_o state_n by_o their_o enemy_n slander_v they_o and_o traduce_v they_o as_o false_a church_n and_o therefore_o he_o will_v have_v some_o absolute_a pattern_n of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n to_o be_v find_v in_o scripture_n whereby_o true_a believer_n may_v justify_v themselves_o and_o their_o own_o stand_n and_o convince_v all_o false_a church_n whatsoever_o as_o a_o straight_a rule_n show_v both_o the_o crookedness_n of_o that_o which_o be_v crooked_a and_o the_o straightness_n of_o that_o which_o be_v straight_o so_o a_o true_a pattern_n of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n serve_v as_o well_o to_o discover_v the_o falsehood_n of_o a_o false_a church_n as_o to_o confirm_v the_o truth_n of_o a_o true_a the_o lord_n know_v that_o many_o christian_n will_v be_v much_o offend_v at_o the_o manifold_a difference_n that_o from_o time_n to_o time_n will_v arise_v among_o professor_n touch_v the_o state_n of_o a_o church_n and_o so_o stand_v in_o a_o mamere_a not_o know_v what_o church_n to_o join_v themselves_o unto_o and_o therefore_o for_o their_o sake_n he_o think_v it_o fit_a and_o needful_a that_o such_o a_o pattern_n shall_v be_v set_v before_o we_o as_o that_o we_o may_v be_v resolve_v which_o church_n we_o may_v safe_o and_o bold_o enter_v into_o and_o stand_v in_o communion_n withal_o and_o howsoever_o this_o also_o may_v be_v and_o be_v sufficient_o teach_v in_o the_o scripture_n by_o certain_a precept_n rule_n and_o
