can_v be_v no_o promise_n make_v to_o thou_o but_o it_o must_v be_v concern_v something_o which_o be_v good_a and_o convenient_a for_o thou_o otherwise_o it_o be_v rather_o a_o threaten_a then_o a_o promise_n o_o if_o all_o our_o prayer_n and_o desire_n be_v thus_o limit_v and_o do_v carry_v alongst_o with_o they_o this_o proviso_n we_o will_v not_o be_v so_o peremptory_a in_o our_o request_n nor_o so_o impatient_a under_o a_o repulse_n nor_o so_o ready_a to_o call_v in_o question_n god_n love_n and_o care_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o promise_n when_o in_o mercy_n he_o refuse_v to_o profitable_a to_o we_o and_o that_o not_o only_o respective_o and_o in_o reference_n to_o such_o a_o end_n but_o also_o absolute_o and_o of_o itself_o at_o least_o negative_o and_o permissive_o and_o thus_o it_o must_v not_o be_v evil_a either_o moral_o or_o physical_o it_o must_v not_o of_o itself_o be_v either_o dishonourable_a to_o god_n and_o contrary_a to_o his_o law_n or_o afflictive_a and_o bitter_a to_o we_o but_o as_o to_o what_o be_v thus_o good_a thou_o be_v not_o straighten_a either_o by_o the_o promise_n or_o the_o nature_n of_o this_o performance_n we_o have_v both_o conjoin_v to_o these_o good_a thing_n and_o mercy_n which_o be_v the_o matter_n of_o prayer_n it_o will_v be_v observe_v 1._o that_o these_o be_v either_o temporal_a belong_v to_o our_o bodily_a and_o perish_a being_n in_o this_o world_n or_o spiritual_a which_o do_v end_n do_v for_o even_o these_o temporal_a thing_n have_v a_o remote_a tendency_n and_o shall_v by_o we_o be_v refer_v to_o such_o a_o noble_a end_n more_o immediate_o concern_v the_o soul_n and_o our_o everlasting_a be_v and_o happiness_n 2._o both_o spiritual_a and_o temporal_a mercy_n may_v be_v subdivide_v for_o some_o of_o they_o be_v more_o some_o less_o necessary_a for_o obtain_v the_o aforesaid_a end_n as_o among_o spiritual_n some_o be_v necessary_a for_o our_o be_v and_o spiritual_a life_n other_o only_o for_o our_o great_a comfort_n vigour_n and_o activity_n in_o do_v so_o among_o temporal_n some_o be_v necessary_a for_o our_o bodily_a be_v and_o life_n other_o only_o for_o the_o comfort_n better_a
