the_o inconvenience_n of_o toleration_n or_o a_o answer_n to_o a_o late_a book_n entitle_v a_o proposition_n make_v to_o the_o king_n and_o parliament_n for_o the_o safety_n and_o happiness_n of_o the_o king_n and_o kingdom_n in_o those_o day_n there_o be_v no_o king_n in_o israel_n but_o every_o man_n do_v that_o which_o be_v right_a in_o his_o own_o eye_n judge_n 17._o 6._o london_n print_v for_o w._n garret_n 1667._o inconvenience_n of_o toleration_n etc._n etc._n liberty_n of_o conscience_n be_v a_o thing_n which_o have_v often_o make_v a_o very_a great_a noise_n in_o the_o world_n and_o be_v at_o the_o first_o view_n a_o thing_n high_o plausible_a but_o although_o it_o look_v huge_o pretty_a in_o the_o notion_n yet_o it_o be_v always_o find_v strange_o wild_a and_o of_o conscience_n be_v either_o absolute_a and_o universal_a or_o limit_v and_o restrain_v if_o universal_a and_o absolute_a it_o lay_v we_o open_a to_o all_o the_o folly_n and_o frenzy_n imaginable_a to_o all_o those_o heresy_n which_o the_o scripture_n call_v damnable_a and_o be_v a_o public_a invitation_n to_o all_o sort_n of_o strong_a delusion_n and_o the_o believe_v of_o lie_n which_o st._n limit_n and_o restraint_n set_v upon_o it_o if_o it_o be_v ask_v will_v you_o force_v man_n to_o go_v against_o their_o conscience_n i_o answer_v that_o conscience_n may_v be_v such_o that_o man_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v suffer_v to_o act_v according_a to_o they_o the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o of_o sear_v conscience_n reprobate_a mind_n and_o those_o who_o very_a mind_n and_o conscience_n be_v defile_v so_o that_o conscience_n alone_o be_v no_o sufficient_a justification_n conscience_n have_v its_o rule_n may_v swerve_v and_o aught_o very_o well_o to_o be_v look_v to_o i_o know_v that_o no_o man_n ought_v to_o act_v against_o his_o mind_n or_o persuasion_n but_o i_o know_v withal_o that_o there_o ought_v great_a care_n to_o be_v take_v what_o mind_n and_o persuasion_n man_n be_v of_o thus_o much_o i_o think_v fit_a to_o premize_v because_o that_o the_o cause_n be_v think_v sufficient_o plead_v as_o soon_o as_o ever_o it_o can_v be_v allege_v this_o be_v our_o conscience_n for_o i_o can_v not_o i_o thought_n pass_v by_o this_o observation_n because_o it_o be_v one_o sad_a instance_n that_o the_o puritan_n spirit_n have_v not_o at_o all_o alter_v his_o old_a way_n of_o act_v
