now_o we_o enjoy_v those_o treasure_n by_o prayer_n which_o by_o faith_n we_o do_v before_o but_o only_o behold_v in_o the_o gospel_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n now_o how_o necessary_a and_o profitable_a this_o exercise_n of_o prayer_n be_v it_o appear_v in_o that_o the_o lord_n himself_o witness_v our_o whole_a salvation_n to_o consist_v in_o the_o call_n upon_o his_o name_n whereby_o he_o be_v whole_o present_a with_o we_o namely_o by_o his_o providence_n and_o fatherly_a care_n by_o the_o which_o he_o watch_v over_o we_o by_o his_o power_n by_o the_o which_o he_o sustain_v and_o &_o enter_v into_o communication_n with_o he_o &_o thereupon_o when_o he_o promise_v to_o hear_v all_o those_o that_o call_v upon_o he_o he_o make_v a_o restraint_n &_o say_v that_o call_v upon_o he_o in_o truth_n see_v therefore_o the_o chief_a duty_n of_o prayer_n consist_v in_o the_o heart_n we_o must_v with_o our_o whole_a heart_n pour_v out_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n the_o searcher_n of_o groan_n unto_o the_o lord_n 86._o that_o he_o will_v link_v our_o heart_n fast_o unto_o he_o and_o not_o suffer_v we_o to_o beledde_v away_o from_o he_o by_o the_o vain_a suggestion_n of_o satan_n therefore_o lay_v aside_o all_o malice_n envy_n wrath_n grudge_n contention_n wrangle_v dissimulation_n all_o guileful_a crafty_a and_o subtle_a deal_n and_o with_o a_o single_a heart_n do_v to_o strength_n and_o ableness_n to_o do_v thy_o righteous_a will._n grant_v that_o i_o may_v ever_o desire_v &_o will_n that_o which_o be_v most_o please_a and_o acceptable_a to_o thy_o will._n thy_o will_v be_v my_o will_n and_o my_o will_n be_v always_o to_o follow_v thy_o will._n let_v there_o be_v ever_o in_o i_o one_o will_v and_o one_o desire_v with_o thou_o and_o let_v i_o never_o desire_v to_o will_n or_o not_o to_o will_v but_o as_o thou_o will_v grant_v i_o that_o above_o all_o thing_n i_o may_v rest_v in_o thou_o and_o full_o quiet_a and_o pacify_v my_o heart_n in_o thou_o for_o with_o the_o whole_a lust_n thereof_o that_o it_o may_v be_v obedient_a both_o in_o will_n mind_n and_o member_n to_o do_v thy_o holy_a will._n assist_v i_o with_o thy_o grace_n oh_o lord_n that_o i_o may_v be_v strengthen_v in_o the_o inward_a man_n 9_o and_o be_v arm_v with_o thy_o holy_a armour_n which_o be_v the_o brest-place_n of_o righteousness_n the_o shield_n of_o of_o faith_n the_o hope_n worthy_a through_o christ_n to_o receive_v the_o crown_n of_o life_n which_o thou_o have_v promise_v to_o all_o they_o that_o love_v thou_o give_v i_o grace_v that_o i_o may_v esteem_v all_o thing_n in_o this_o world_n as_o they_o be_v transitory_a &_o soon_o vanish_v away_o and_o myself_o also_o with_o they_o draw_v towards_o my_o end_n for_o nothing_o under_o the_o sun_n may_v long_o abide_v which_o may_v draw_v i_o from_o the_o love_n of_o eternal_a thing_n and_o for_o all_o worldly_a comfort_n give_v i_o the_o sweet_a comfort_n of_o thy_o holy_a spirit_n for_o thou_o lord_n be_v my_o joy_n my_o hope_n my_o crown_n and_o my_o glory_n bless_a be_v they_o that_o for_o the_o love_n of_o thou_o set_v not_o by_o the_o pleasure_n of_o this_o world_n but_o crucify_v the_o flesh_n and_o the_o lust_n thereof_o so_o that_o in_o a_o clean_a &_o pure_a conscience_n they_o may_v offer_v their_o prayer_n unto_o thou_o and_o be_v accept_v to_o have_v company_n with_o thou_o together_o with_o thy_o angel_n &_o heavenly_a spirit_n oh_o everlasting_a light_n send_v down_o the_o beam_n of_o thy_o brightness_n &_o lighten_v the_o inward_a part_n of_o my_o heart_n open_v my_o heart_n that_o i_o may_v behold_v thy_o law_n and_o teach_v i_o to_o walk_v in_o thy_o commandment_n behold_v my_o weakness_n oh_o lord_n and_o consider_v my_o frailness_n best_a know_v unto_o thou_o fain_o will_v i_o cleaâ—e_v fast_o to_o heavenly_a thing_n but_o worldly_a affection_n and_o tentation_n pluck_v i_o back_o they_o daily_o rebel_v and_o suffer_v not_o my_o soul_n to_o live_v in_o rest_n which_o although_o they_o draw_v i_o not_o away_o to_o consent_v yet_o nevertheless_o their_o assault_n be_v very_o grievous_a unto_o i_o oh_o what_o a_o life_n may_v this_o be_v call_v where_o no_o trouble_n nor_o misery_n lack_v where_o every_o place_n be_v full_a of_o snare_n of_o mortal_a enemy_n for_o one_o trouble_n or_o tentation_n overpass_o a_o other_o come_v by_o and_o by_o and_o the_o first_o conflict_n yet_o during_o a_o new_a battle_n sudden_o arise_v tedious_a it_o be_v to_o i_o to_o live_v in_o such_o battle_n but_o i_o perceive_v such_o conflict_n be_v not_o unprofitable_a for_o i_o while_o i_o know_v myself_o and_o my_o infirmity_n the_o better_a and_o be_o thereby_o compel_v to_o seek_v help_n at_o thy_o hand_n it_o be_v good_a for_o i_o oh_o lord_n that_o thou_o have_v thus_o exercise_v and_o humble_v i_o that_o i_o may_v learn_v to_o dread_v thy_o secret_a and_o terrible_a judgement_n which_o scourge_v every_o child_n that_o thou_o receive_v which_o bring_v down_o to_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n and_o bring_v back_o again_o i_o yield_v thou_o thank_n therefore_o that_o thou_o have_v not_o
