your_o happiness_n have_v not_o in_o these_o thing_n although_o you_o be_v rich_a and_o witty_a and_o beautiful_a etc._n etc._n these_o be_v indeed_o great_a thing_n but_o these_o make_v not_o the_o a_o false_a conceit_n that_o he_o be_v already_o in_o the_o state_n of_o happiness_n but_o of_o these_o thing_n i_o have_v speak_v enough_o for_o the_o present_a 2._o use_v of_o reprehension_n of_o as_o we_o have_v something_o here_o for_o the_o rectify_v of_o our_o judgement_n in_o the_o point_n of_o happiness_n so_o in_o the_o second_o place_n this_o afford_v matter_n pregnant_a enough_o of_o reproof_n &_o reprehension_n to_o reprove_v the_o practice_n of_o many_o man_n in_o the_o world_n i_o will_v first_o name_v the_o practice_n and_o then_o a_o little_a unmask_v the_o pretence_n by_o which_o man_n think_v they_o have_v a_o nook_n to_o run_v out_o at_o and_o think_v that_o this_o truth_n do_v not_o touch_v they_o with_o any_o just_a reproof_n man_n the_o practice_n of_o worldly_a man_n 1._o the_o practice_n of_o worldly_a man_n it_o be_v clear_a enough_o that_o all_o worldly_a man_n that_o be_v make_v up_o of_o dirt_n and_o who_o carry_v about_o they_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o estimation_n of_o the_o conjunction_n of_o that_o thing_n which_o he_o seek_v after_o with_o his_o happiness_n happiness_n be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o a_o man_n aim_n he_o will_v not_o mind_v over_o that_o be_v less_o than_o immortality_n can_v be_v a_o happiness_n for_o a_o man_n now_o there_o will_v be_v no_o defect_n in_o the_o length_n god_n be_v infinite_a and_o immortal_a i_o shall_v touch_v it_o a_o little_a more_o particular_a anon_o but_o i_o say_v god_n be_v immortal_a and_o without_o doubt_n can_v convey_v that_o happiness_n which_o a_o man_n nature_n require_v and_o there_o be_v right_a intrinsical_v in_o these_o three_o respect_n and_o these_o be_v the_o intrinsical_a character_n of_o the_o sincerity_n of_o obedience_n 2._o there_o be_v extrinsicall_a cognisance_n cognisance_n cognisance_n by_o which_o a_o man_n may_v be_v know_v to_o the_o world_n to_o be_v sincere_a for_o by_o this_o only_a his_o own_o spirit_n and_o that_o spirit_n which_o search_v the_o spirit_n can_v judge_v of_o his_o sincerity_n and_o so_o whether_o he_o do_v the_o thing_n which_o he_o do_v aright_o or_o no_o but_o now_o man_n can_v imagine_v of_o other_o by_o these_o mark_n for_o be_v conscientious_a not_o only_o in_o some_o general_a way_n in_o a_o certain_a stage_n like_o a_o post-horse_n but_o when_o god_n put_v he_o on_o particular_a relation_n and_o duty_n he_o be_v conscious_a in_o general_a and_o in_o particular_a duty_n too_o in_o all_o the_o particular_a relation_n god_n have_v put_v he_o in_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o first_o caracteristicall_a cognisance_n viz._n universality_n constant_n perpetuity_n constant_n the_o second_o characteristical_a cognizance_n follow_v and_o that_o be_v constant_a perpetuity_n when_o a_o man_n keep_v a_o not_o like_o a_o man_n that_o take_v up_o resolution_n and_o have_v many_o good_a intent_n but_o be_v like_o a_o deceitful_a bow_n or_o the_o morning_n dew_n and_o so_o start_v aside_o and_o all_o vanish_v away_o have_v no_o root_n in_o the_o soul_n at_o all_o or_o have_v not_o root_n enough_o as_o christ_n speak_v in_o the_o parable_n they_o have_v not_o any_o virtual_a station_n or_o bottom_n and_o so_o be_v like_o grass_n on_o the_o house_n top_n and_o therefore_o bring_v no_o crop_n come_v to_o no_o perfection_n there_o may_v be_v some_o affection_n dart_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o
