whereby_o they_o be_v free_v out_o of_o the_o spiritual_a captivity_n of_o satan_n choose_v out_o of_o the_o world_n and_o make_v god_n church_n and_o peculiar_a people_n the_o second_o be_v true_a consolation_n wrought_v in_o their_o heart_n by_o the_o glad_a tiding_n of_o the_o gospel_n make_v effectual_a by_o the_o inward_a work_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n both_o which_o be_v contain_v and_o second_o the_o benefit_n promise_v the_o context_n in_o these_o word_n therefore_o behold_v this_o may_v seem_v a_o strange_a kind_n of_o consequence_n for_o in_o the_o former_a verse_n he_o have_v set_v down_o their_o obstinacy_n in_o their_o gross_a idolatry_n and_o that_o they_o be_v so_o whole_o devote_a to_o their_o idol_n that_o they_o have_v quite_o forget_v the_o true_a god_n and_o now_o he_o present_o infer_v hereupon_o that_o therefore_o he_o will_v allure_v she_o and_o speak_v comfortable_o unto_o she_o but_o howsoever_o this_o may_v seem_v but_o a_o bad_a inference_n if_o we_o regard_v their_o sin_n upon_o the_o recital_n whereof_o it_o shall_v rather_o have_v follow_v that_o therefore_o they_o shall_v have_v such_o punishment_n inflict_v upon_o they_o as_o their_o sin_n have_v deserve_v yet_o it_o have_v good_a dependence_n if_o we_o respect_v god_n infinite_a mercy_n and_o his_o eternal_a purpose_n whereby_o he_o have_v of_o his_o free_a grace_n and_o wonderful_a mercy_n of_o god_n far_o above_o all_o humane_a conceit_n and_o therefore_o not_o light_o and_o negligent_o to_o be_v pass_v over_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o note_n of_o attention_n be_v add_v therefore_o behold_v that_o we_o may_v more_o careful_o observe_v and_o observe_v praise_n and_o magnify_v this_o unspeakable_a goodness_n of_o god_n who_o by_o our_o sin_n be_v move_v which_o make_v they_o infamous_a throughout_o the_o world_n of_o the_o latter_a we_o have_v a_o example_n in_o solomon_n who_o be_v unmeasurable_o addict_v to_o the_o sin_n of_o uncleanness_n and_o therefore_o give_v over_o of_o god_n to_o his_o own_o lust_n be_v seduce_v by_o his_o strange_a wife_n to_o commit_v also_o with_o they_o spiritual_a whoredom_n with_o their_o idol_n the_o use_n of_o the_o general_a doctrine_n be_v that_o we_o careful_o take_v another_o that_o it_o be_v a_o most_o dangerous_a punishment_n when_o god_n punish_v one_o sin_n with_o another_o heed_n lest_o we_o secure_o lie_v under_o that_o heavy_a punishment_n whereby_o god_n punish_v one_o sin_n with_o another_o otherwise_o we_o may_v easy_o deceive_v ourselves_o and_o think_v our_o state_n happy_a when_o that_o we_o have_v grievous_o offend_v if_o we_o have_v no_o sensible_a punishment_n lay_v upon_o we_o for_o our_o sin_n in_o which_o we_o lie_v without_o repentance_n let_v we_o observe_v if_o the_o suffer_v we_o to_o go_v on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o perdition_n but_o if_o we_o no_o soon_o resolve_v upon_o some_o wicked_a design_n but_o straight_o we_o be_v either_o cross_v in_o it_o or_o afterward_o afflict_v that_o we_o can_v proceed_v in_o it_o as_o we_o purpose_v sure_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o the_o lord_n have_v a_o care_n of_o we_o in_o that_o he_o hold_v we_o back_o from_o oftentimes_o neither_o consider_v who_o have_v set_v this_o hedge_n in_o our_o way_n nor_o for_o what_o cause_n but_o be_v ready_a to_o ascribe_v our_o affliction_n to_o chance_n and_o fortune_n to_o their_o punishment_n to_o be_v their_o sin_n they_o may_v labour_v to_o take_v they_o away_o by_o true_a repentance_n and_o know_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v the_o author_n of_o they_o they_o may_v humble_v themselves_o under_o his_o hand_n and_o implore_v mercy_n and_o forgiveness_n three_o we_o may_v here_o learn_v that_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o god_n elect_v to_o perish_v for_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v they_o to_o go_v on_o in_o sin_n to_o their_o perdition_n yea_o though_o they_o will_v desire_v and_o resolve_v to_o live_v in_o wickedness_n the_o lord_n will_v find_v mean_n to_o pull_v they_o out_o of_o it_o for_o his_o will_n be_v above_o their_o will_n his_o eternal_a purpose_n and_o decree_n which_o be_v unchangeable_a cause_v a_o change_n in_o their_o wicked_a in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n commandment_n and_o to_o keep_v we_o from_o leap_v over_o into_o the_o pleasant_a pasture_n of_o sin_n and_o wickedness_n where_o we_o shall_v but_o be_v fat_v to_o the_o wisdom_n against_o their_o folly_n nor_o suffer_v their_o stubborn_a will_n to_o cross_v my_o will_n and_o eternal_a counsel_n but_o i_o will_v now_o begin_v to_o take_v care_n of_o they_o see_v they_o will_v take_v no_o care_n of_o themselves_o and_o because_o they_o have_v nothing_o profit_v by_o all_o my_o threaten_n and_o punishment_n i_o will_v mollify_v their_o hard_a heart_n and_o
