powerful_a persuasion_n and_o hear_v of_o everlasting_a life_n or_o death_n as_o a_o thing_n of_o nothing_o if_o you_o have_v not_o therefore_o great_a seriousness_n and_o fervency_n and_o work_a matter_n and_o fitness_n of_o expression_n what_o good_a can_v you_o expect_v and_o when_o all_o be_v do_v the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n must_v do_v the_o work_n but_o as_o god_n and_o man_n do_v use_v to_o choose_v instrument_n most_o suitable_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o agent_n work_n or_o end_n so_o here_o the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n life_n and_o holiness_n do_v not_o use_v to_o work_v by_o never_o hear_v it_o before_o and_o that_o know_v not_o that_o infant_n have_v any_o original_a sin_n and_o of_o those_o that_o know_v the_o history_n of_o the_o gospel_n how_o few_o be_v they_o that_o know_v the_o nature_n of_o that_o faith_n repentance_n and_o holiness_n that_o it_o require_v or_o at_o least_o that_o know_v their_o own_o heart_n but_o most_o of_o they_o have_v a_o ungrounded_a affiance_n in_o christ_n trust_v that_o he_o will_v pardon_v justify_v and_o save_v they_o while_o the_o world_n have_v their_o heart_n and_o they_o live_v to_o the_o flesh_n and_o this_o assiance_n know_v not_o what_o we_o say_v but_o in_o private_a we_o can_v take_v our_o work_n gradatim_o and_o take_v our_o hearer_n with_o we_o as_o we_o go_v and_o by_o question_n and_o their_o answer_n we_o can_v see_v how_o far_o they_o go_v with_o we_o and_o what_o we_o have_v next_o to_o do_v in_o public_a by_o length_n and_o speak_v alone_o we_o lose_v their_o attention_n but_o when_o they_o be_v interlocutor_n we_o can_v easy_o cause_v they_o to_o attend_v beside_o that_o we_o can_v as_o be_v abovesaid_a better_a answer_n their_o objection_n and_o engage_v they_o by_o promise_n before_o we_o leave_v they_o which_o in_o public_a we_o can_v do_v i_o conclude_v therefore_o that_o public_a preach_n will_v not_o be_v sufficient_a for_o though_o it_o may_v be_v a_o effectual_a mean_n to_o
