be_v still_o open_a to_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o motion_n of_o further_a grace_n and_o so_o you_o will_v have_v abundant_a advantage_n both_o for_o the_o exercise_n and_o increase_v of_o the_o grace_n which_o you_o have_v receive_v the_o earthly_a mind_a have_v their_o heart_n lock_v up_o against_o all_o that_o can_v be_v say_v to_o they_o never_o can_v the_o spirit_n or_o his_o minister_n make_v a_o motion_n to_o they_o for_o their_o good_a but_o some_o worldly_a interest_n or_o other_o do_v contradict_v it_o and_o rise_v up_o against_o it_o but_o what_o have_v you_o to_o stop_v your_o ear_n when_o the_o world_n be_v dead_a the_o word_n than_o will_v have_v free_a access_n to_o your_o heart_n when_o the_o spirit_n come_v your_o thought_n be_v ready_a your_o affection_n be_v at_o hand_n and_o all_o be_v in_o a_o posture_n to_o entertain_v he_o and_o attend_v he_o and_o so_o the_o work_n go_v on_o and_o prosper_v but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o the_o worldly_a mind_n the_o thought_n be_v all_o from_o home_n the_o affection_n be_v abroad_o and_o out_o of_o the_o way_n and_o there_o be_v nothing_o for_o his_o entertainment_n but_o all_o in_o a_o posture_n to_o resist_v he_o and_o gainsay_v he_o o_o what_o work_n will_v the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n make_v in_o the_o world_n if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o worldly_a principle_n within_o to_o believer_n and_o dead_a to_o the_o world_n the_o case_n be_v otherwise_o death_n be_v not_o near_o so_o dreadful_a to_o they_o as_o it_o be_v to_o other_o except_z as_o the_o quality_n of_o some_o therein_o 2._o yet_o so_o as_o that_o their_o glory_v must_v be_v principal_o in_o christ_n and_o their_o own_o mortification_n must_v be_v glory_v in_o but_o as_o the_o fruit_n of_o his_o cross._n for_o the_o first_o part_n it_o must_v be_v understand_v with_o these_o necessary_a limitation_n 1._o as_o glory_v signify_v a_o self-ascribing_a and_o proud_a conceit_n of_o our_o own_o mortification_n and_o be_v contrary_a to_o christian_a self-denial_n and_o humility_n and_o glory_v in_o god_n so_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n of_o it_o and_o abhor_v it_o 2._o as_o glory_v signify_v any_o outward_a expression_n of_o this_o inward_a pride_n either_o by_o word_n or_o deed_n we_o must_v also_o avoid_v it_o with_o abhorrence_n 3._o so_o must_v we_o also_o do_v by_o all_o unseasonable_a offensive_a ostentation_n which_o may_v seem_v to_o other_o to_o savour_v of_o pride_n though_o indeed_o it_o proceed_v from_o a_o better_a cause_n 4._o but_o as_o glory_v signify_v the_o apprehension_n of_o the_o good_a of_o the_o thing_n and_o our_o benefit_n by_o it_o and_o the_o due_a affection_n of_o content_a and_o joy_n and_o exultation_n of_o mind_n that_o follow_v the_o blessedness_n of_o a_o mortify_v state_n and_o can_v see_v little_a in_o any_o thing_n but_o sensible_a fruition_n and_o rejoice_n when_o you_o be_v low_a in_o affliction_n and_o grieve_v for_o your_o corruption_n and_o fill_v the_o ear_n of_o god_n and_o man_n with_o your_o complaint_n though_o you_o have_v not_o then_o the_o joyful_a sense_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n yet_o i_o think_v you_o may_v easy_o perceive_v your_o mortification_n and_o will_v that_o afford_v you_o no_o refresh_n do_v you_o not_o feel_v that_o you_o be_v crucify_a to_o the_o world_n and_o your_o desire_n
