thing_n the_o scripture_n contain_v i_o answer_v there_o be_v not_o one_o line_n or_o syllable_n in_o the_o whole_a book_n of_o god_n that_o give_v the_o least_o ground_n for_o despair_n nay_o there_o be_v the_o most_o support_a comfort_n a_o poor_a fearful_a tremble_v soul_n can_v desire_v come_v unto_o i_o all_o that_o be_v weary_a and_o heavy_a lade_v and_o i_o will_v give_v you_o rest_n come_v unto_o i_o and_o i_o will_v in_o no_o wise_a cast_v you_o out_o return_v unto_o the_o lord_n and_o he_o will_v abundant_o pardon_v isaiah_n 55.7_o ay_o even_o i_o be_o he_o that_o blot_v out_o and_o which_o be_v sufficient_a to_o salvation_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v first_o god_n may_v well_o expect_v a_o more_o plentiful_a measure_n of_o the_o word_n to_o dwell_v in_o minister_n because_o it_o be_v not_o only_o their_o general_n but_o particular_a call_n to_o peruse_v and_o study_v it_o there_o be_v therefore_o a_o twofold_a fullness_n a_o fullness_n of_o the_o private_a christian_a and_o a_o fullness_n of_o the_o treasurer_n or_o steward_n to_o who_o charge_n the_o oracle_n of_o god_n be_v commit_v and_o who_o be_v to_o communicate_v knowledge_n to_o the_o people_n this_o be_v the_o minister_n office_n it_o be_v his_o duty_n especial_o to_o abound_v and_o be_v enrich_v in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o scripture_n but_o second_o wherefore_o must_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n dwell_v so_o rich_o in_o minister_n be_v it_o for_o themselves_o only_o or_o be_v it_o to_o instruct_v their_o flock_n what_o and_o can_v it_o be_v necessary_a for_o they_o to_o teach_v and_o yet_o answer_v by_o a_o conscientious_a practice_n may_v suffice_v for_o our_o salvation_n but_o for_o we_o we_o have_v line_n upon_o line_n and_o precept_n upon_o precept_n for_o we_o to_o satisfy_v ourselves_o with_o a_o few_o of_o the_o common_a principle_n slight_v the_o rest_n as_o nice_a and_o unnecessary_a point_n for_o we_o to_o neglect_v knowledge_n argue_v defect_n of_o grace_n for_o wheresoever_o true_a grace_n be_v there_o will_v be_v a_o most_o earnest_a endeavour_n to_o grow_v daily_o in_o both_o and_o yet_o multitude_n every_o where_o even_o of_o those_o who_o abhor_v grosser_n sin_n as_o swear_v drunkenness_n and_o the_o like_a yet_o take_v up_o with_o a_o few_o notion_n of_o religion_n that_o all_o be_v sinner_n and_o all_o must_v perish_v unless_o christ_n save_v they_o etc._n etc._n this_o they_o know_v as_o soon_o as_o they_o know_v any_o thing_n and_o more_o than_o this_o they_o will_v not_o know_v they_o will_v not_o trouble_v their_o head_n with_o any_o far_a discovery_n nor_o look_v deep_a into_o the_o mystery_n of_o godliness_n content_v themselves_o that_o they_o have_v as_o they_o think_v knowledge_n enough_o to_o bring_v they_o to_o heaven_n let_v i_o tell_v they_o that_o though_o where_o there_o be_v not_o mean_n of_o knowledge_n a_o little_a may_v suffice_v for_o salvation_n yet_o where_o god_n do_v afford_v plentiful_a mean_n the_o knowledge_n of_o these_o very_a thing_n become_v necessary_a to_o they_o which_o other_o may_v safe_o be_v ignorant_a of_o this_o be_v in_o answer_n to_o the_o four_o objection_n five_o some_o to_o show_v how_o this_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v say_v to_o come_v this_o word_n come_v imply_v that_o we_o pray_v for_o a_o kingdom_n that_o be_v yet_o in_o its_o progress_n and_o have_v not_o yet_o attain_v the_o high_a pitch_n of_o that_o perfection_n which_o be_v expect_v and_o desire_v for_o that_o which_o be_v yet_o to_o come_v be_v not_o as_o yet_o arrive_v to_o that_o state_n in_o which_o it_o be_v to_o be_v and_o therefore_o we_o do_v not_o so_o proper_o pray_v that_o the_o universal_a kingdom_n of_o god_n shall_v come_v for_o his_o dominion_n over_o the_o creature_n be_v actual_o the_o same_o and_o shall_v be_v so_o for_o ever_o but_o more_o especial_o we_o pray_v that_o the_o peculiar_a kingdom_n of_o god_n shall_v come_v and_o that_o as_o to_o both_o part_n of_o deliver_v we_o from_o evil_a this_o may_v instruct_v we_o that_o the_o best_a security_n against_o sin_n be_v to_o be_v secure_v against_o temptation_n unto_o sin_n for_o though_o it_o be_v no_o seem_v instead_o of_o subdue_a of_o sin_n to_o strengthen_v they_o six_o many_o be_v discourage_v from_o study_v the_o scripture_n because_o their_o memory_n be_v so_o treacherous_a and_o unfaithful_a they_o can_v retain_v nothing_o when_o they_o have_v read_v the_o scripture_n and_o will_v recollect_v what_o they_o have_v read_v they_o can_v give_v no_o account_n of_o it_o either_o to_o
