marvelous_a plain_n and_o express_v that_o they_o may_v be_v one_o in_o we_o true_a it_o be_v they_o shall_v be_v and_o those_o that_o have_v the_o same_o spirit_n of_o love_n as_o the_o same_o soul_n in_o many_o member_n they_o will_v be_v of_o one_o and_o the_o same_o affection_n each_o to_o other_o but_o that_o christ_n now_o pray_v for_o which_o presuppose_v this_o and_o be_v indeed_o the_o foundation_n thereof_o be_v namely_o that_o they_o be_v one_o in_o we_o and_o then_o they_o will_v be_v at_o unity_n one_o with_o another_o yea_o the_o very_a manner_n of_o speech_n lay_v down_o by_o way_n of_o comparison_n and_o resemblance_n seem_v to_o be_v add_v as_o a_o further_a clear_n and_o interpretation_n of_o that_o which_o go_v before_o that_o which_o be_v propound_v there_o in_o the_o general_n here_o come_v more_o full_o to_o be_v explicate_v as_o though_o our_o saviour_n have_v say_v when_o i_o pray_v that_o all_o believer_n may_v be_v one_o my_o meaning_n may_v thus_o be_v conceive_v and_o my_o intendment_n right_o understand_v by_o this_o resemblance_n as_o i_o be_o in_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n in_o i_o the_o scope_n of_o my_o prayer_n be_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v one_o in_o we_o after_o their_o manner_n again_o when_o our_o saviour_n set_v down_o the_o order_n how_o he_o will_v have_v this_o unity_n attain_v and_o preserve_v the_o speak_v full_a verse_n 23._o i_o in_o they_o and_o thou_o in_o i_o and_o so_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v perfect_a into_o one_o q._n d._n if_o they_o all_o be_v in_o i_o as_o i_o be_o in_o thou_o then_o be_v they_o in_o unity_n and_o thou_o be_v in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o they_o then_o be_v they_o perfect_v in_o this_o unity_n as_o they_o be_v one_o in_o i_o and_o so_o in_o thou_o by_o spiritual_a dependence_n to_o receive_v all_o so_o i_o be_o one_o in_o they_o and_o thou_o in_o i_o by_o spiritual_a influence_n and_o we_o communicate_v all_o unto_o they_o 2._o the_o second_o reason_n be_v out_o of_o verse_n 22._o where_o the_o glory_n which_o christ_n have_v receive_v and_o give_v to_o his_o servant_n be_v make_v a_o mean_n to_o obtain_v this_o unity_n the_o glory_n which_o thou_o have_v give_v to_o i_o i_o give_v to_o they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v one_o as_o we_o whence_o it_o follow_v by_o undeniable_a evidence_n this_o unity_n be_v one_o stayr_a and_o degree_n beyond_o the_o glory_n itself_o which_o the_o saint_n receive_v for_o it_o be_v a_o rule-case_n in_o reason_n the_o end_n be_v more_o excellent_a and_o of_o great_a worth_n and_o goodness_n than_o the_o mean_v appoint_v for_o the_o end_n unity_n of_o affection_n among_o the_o saint_n be_v part_n of_o that_o glory_n or_o a_o ingredient_n which_o make_v up_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o saint_n but_o this_o unity_n be_v the_o end_n of_o that_o glory_n and_o so_o more_o excellent_a therefore_o something_o beyond_o that_o or_o any_o ingredient_n in_o it_o 2._o i_o answer_v affirmative_o in_o a_o word_n the_o unity_n here_o mean_v be_v the_o unity_n of_o that_o spiritual_a relation_n which_o they_o have_v to_o christ_n and_o in_o he_o to_o god_n the_o father_n not_o the_o unity_n of_o affection_n or_o charity_n which_o they_o have_v one_o to_o another_o and_o one_o between_o another_o that_o which_o be_v more_o excellent_a than_o this_o unity_n of_o affection_n as_o be_v the_o end_n unto_o that_o be_v ordain_v unto_o that_o as_o the_o end_n that_o must_v be_v something_o beyond_o it_o so_o this_o unity_n be_v that_o which_o be_v proper_o bound_v by_o the_o word_n of_o the_o text_n and_o intendment_n of_o the_o place_n upon_o christ_n and_o the_o father_n in_o he_o that_o unity_n be_v not_o the_o unity_n of_o affection_n but_o of_o relation_n but_o this_o unity_n by_o the_o express_a testimony_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o text_n be_v bound_v upon_o the_o father_n in_o christ_n that_o they_o may_v be_v one_o in_o we_o therefore_o the_o unity_n here_o intend_v be_v that_o of_o relation_n not_o of_o affection_n we_o have_v now_o gain_v the_o first_o what_o kind_n of_o unity_n this_o be_v we_o be_v now_o to_o inquire_v wherein_o this_o consist_v or_o how_o it_o may_v be_v discern_v the_o explication_n of_o this_o will_v be_v the_o interpretation_n of_o the_o word_n of_o the_o text_n which_o follow_v which_o be_v apply_v as_o far_o as_o yet_o i_o can_v conceive_v by_o the_o most_o sad_a consideration_n unto_o this_o very_a purpose_n now_o in_o hand_n for_o when_o our_o saviour_n have_v pray_v that_o they_o may_v be_v one_o that_o they_o may_v aright_o understand_v it_o and_o so_o the_o exceed_a love_n of_o christ_n who_o do_v not_o seek_v nor_o so_o obtain_v for_o he_o be_v ever_o hear_v in_o what_o he_o ask_v any_o mean_a or_o ordinary_a blessing_n or_o common_a courtesy_n for_o they_o for_o their_o present_a comfort_n and_o refresh_n but_o the_o choice_a mercy_n a_o blessing_n of_o incomparable_a worth_n and_o surpass_a excellency_n that_o i_o say_v they_o may_v understand_v this_o and_o receive_v suitable_a comfort_n for_o it_o he_o add_v by_o way_n of_o explication_n what_o he_o mean_v with_o as_o much_o plainness_n as_o such_o a_o spiritual_a
