dunghill_n of_o hell_n from_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o satisfy_v not_o yourselves_o in_o this_o that_o you_o do_v not_o live_v in_o such_o filthy_a abominable_a lust_n as_o other_o do_v but_o if_o you_o have_v foul_a earthy_a heart_n you_o may_v be_v cast_v upon_o the_o dunghill_n as_o well_o as_o those_o that_o have_v live_v most_o notorious_o wicked_a and_o therefore_o take_v heed_n of_o earthly-mindednesse_a you_o will_v say_v by_o all_o these_o particular_n that_o you_o have_v discover_v to_o we_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o evil_n and_o danger_n in_o earthly_a mindedness_n well_o the_o lord_n keep_v we_o from_o earthly-mindednesse_a but_o you_o will_v say_v we_o hope_v that_o we_o be_v not_o those_o earthly-minded_n man_n that_o be_v here_o speak_v to_o though_o we_o do_v follow_v our_o business_n and_o calling_n we_o must_v mind_v what_o god_n set_v we_o about_o but_o we_o hope_v we_o be_v not_o of_o these_o earthly-minded_n man_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o here_o in_o this_o scripture_n now_o beside_o what_o we_o speak_v too_o in_o the_o open_n what_o it_o be_v that_o may_v show_v as_o in_o a_o glass_n the_o heart_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n i_o shall_v enlarge_v my_o meditation_n on_o this_o subject_n by_o open_v some_o few_o convincement_n further_o to_o convince_v man_n and_o woman_n that_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o earthly-mindednesse_a in_o they_o and_o for_o preparation_n i_o will_v lay_v down_o this_o first_o that_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n may_v be_v earthly_a mind_v and_o yet_o little_o think_v of_o it_o themselves_o not_o know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o yea_o and_o it_o may_v be_v even_o perisheternal_o through_o their_o earthly-mindednesse_a and_o not_o know_v of_o it_o themselves_o six_o thing_n may_v be_v wrought_v in_o a_o man_n and_o yet_o earthly_a mind_v 1._o a_o man_n may_v have_v his_o judgement_n convince_v that_o there_o be_v a_o vanity_n in_o all_o thing_n in_o this_o world_n and_o yet_o be_v a_o earthly-minded_n man_n for_o all_o this_o many_o think_v they_o be_v not_o earthly-minded_n why_o because_o they_o be_v convince_v that_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v vanity_n come_v and_o speak_v to_o they_o about_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n and_o they_o will_v acknowledge_v there_o be_v a_o vanity_n in_o all_o these_o thing_n that_o they_o be_v vanity_n of_o vanity_n all_o be_v vanity_n 2._o a_o man_n may_v have_v some_o kind_n of_o contentment_n in_o his_o estate_n and_o yet_o have_v a_o earthly_a mind_n at_o the_o 33._o of_o gen._n 9_o verse_n esau_n that_o be_v one_o of_o the_o earth_n yet_o he_o say_v he_o have_v enough_o yet_o certain_o one_o of_o a_o earthly_a spirit_n and_o his_o portion_n be_v in_o the_o earth_n how_o many_o of_o you_o come_v so_o far_o as_o esau_n do_v to_o say_v for_o your_o estate_n you_o have_v enough_o oh_o it_o be_v a_o shame_n for_o those_o that_o be_v professor_n of_o religion_n and_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v of_o the_o seed_n of_o jacob_n and_o yet_o they_o can_v never_o say_v they_o have_v enough_o when_o as_o a_o esau_n can_v say_v he_o have_v enough_o i_o have_v enough_o my_o brother_n 3_o man_n and_o woman_n may_v speak_v very_o great_a word_n about_o the_o vanity_n of_o all_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n when_o you_o come_v to_o discourse_v you_o may_v i_o say_v discourse_n much_o about_o they_o and_o yet_o have_v a_o very_a earthly_a spirit_n 4._o a_o man_n may_v be_v free_a from_o get_v any_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n by_o false_a way_n by_o deceit_n by_o injustice_n etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o be_v earthly_a for_o all_o that_o 5._o through_o some_o predominate_a lust_n some_o other_o way_n a_o man_n may_v seem_v to_o despise_v some_o earthly_a thing_n as_o many_o man_n that_o have_v a_o lust_n of_o ambition_n will_v seem_v to_o despise_v money_n that_o have_v a_o lust_n to_o show_v themselves_o to_o be_v generous_a and_o those_o that_o have_v a_o lust_n of_o sensuality_n will_v seem_v to_o despise_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n many_o a_o man_n through_o one_o lust_n will_v seem_v as_o if_o he_o will_v hate_v the_o other_o though_o the_o truth_n be_v he_o do_v not_o hate_v it_o as_o a_o sin_n but_o for_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o his_o heart_n be_v against_o it_o not_o i_o say_v from_o the_o dislike_n of_o it_o as_o a_o sin_n against_o god_n but_o because_o it_o be_v opposite_a to_o some_o other_o lust_n that_o he_o have_v as_o your_o prodigal_n your_o young_a spendthrift_n they_o will_v speak_v against_o covetousness_n as_o if_o they_o hate_v that_o sin_n whereas_o the_o truth_n be_v no_o wicked_a man_n hate_v any_o sin_n any_o further_a than_o one_o sin_n cross_v another_o so_o much_o he_o may_v hate_v it_o but_o not_o as_o a_o sin_n in_o the_o 13._o of_o isa_n 17._o behold_v say_v the_o text_n i_o will_v stir_v up_o the_o mede_n against_o they_o which_o shall_v not_o regard_v silver_n and_o as_o for_o gold_n they_o shall_v not_o delight_v in_o there_o be_v a_o market_n for_o pearl_n for_o those_o thing_n that_o may_v enrich_v you_o to_o all_o eternity_n now_o there_o be_v one_o man_n he_o bestow_v the_o strength_n of_o his_o thought_n and_o heart_n about_o those_o thing_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v blessing_n of_o god_n in_o the_o high_a heaven_n to_o all_o eternity_n for_o and_o the_o other_o man_n bestow_v his_o thought_n and_o heart_n but_o upon_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o lade_v himself_o with_o thick_a clay_n as_o the_o scripture_n phrase_n be_v and_o now_o at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n when_o it_o shall_v appear_v here_o be_v a_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o shall_v be_v to_o all_o eternity_n bless_v that_o shall_v join_v with_o angel_n and_o saint_n in_o the_o high_a heaven_n to_o magnify_v the_o free_a what_o they_o will_v but_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v that_o those_o just_n that_o be_v cause_v by_o earthly-mindednesse_a be_v foolish_a lust_n five_o that_o be_v folly_n for_o a_o man_n to_o do_v that_o that_o he_o must_v undo_v again_o now_o especial_o those_o earthly-minded_n man_n that_o have_v this_o earthliness_n so_o to_o prevail_v with_o they_o as_o to_o get_v any_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n by_o false_a way_n they_o must_v certain_o undo_v all_o they_o have_v do_v you_o have_v get_v so_o much_o of_o the_o earth_n in_o some_o cunning_a cheat_a way_n and_o you_o bless_v yourselves_o that_o you_o have_v find_v out_o such_o a_o mystery_n of_o iniquity_n this_o be_v a_o foolish_a lust_n foolish_a why_o it_o must_v be_v do_v again_o either_o you_o must_v be_v eternal_o damn_v or_o else_o you_o must_v restore_v as_o zacheus_n do_v if_o you_o be_v able_a though_o it_o be_v to_o the_o impoverish_n of_o yourselves_o yet_o it_o must_v out_o again_o all_o the_o sorrow_n and_o repentance_n that_o can_v be_v will_v not_o be_v sufficient_a thou_o can_v not_o be_v pardon_v upon_o all_o thy_o sorrow_n and_o repentance_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o restore_v if_o thou_o be_v able_a what_o thou_o have_v ill_o get_v i_o do_v not_o know_v that_o there_o be_v ever_o any_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n upon_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n but_o hold_v this_o that_o it_o be_v of_o absolute_a necessity_n to_o salvation_n to_o restore_v and_o this_o one_o reason_n can_v but_o satisfy_v any_o man_n conscience_n that_o a_o man_n can_v true_o repent_v of_o a_o sin_n and_o yet_o wilful_o to_o continue_v in_o it_o now_o except_o you_o do_v restore_v you_o do_v wilful_o continue_v in_o it_o for_o why_o you_o do_v not_o only_o wrong_v the_o man_n the_o first_o hour_n but_o so_o long_o as_o you_o keep_v any_o thing_n that_o be_v he_o you_o do_v wrong_v he_o and_o if_o you_o be_v able_a to_o restore_v and_o do_v not_o because_o you_o be_v loath_a to_o part_v with_o so_o much_o money_n or_o so_o many_o good_n you_o do_v wilful_o continue_v in_o the_o sin_n now_o no_o man_n or_o woman_n can_v true_o repent_v of_o a_o sin_n and_o yet_o wilful_o persist_v in_o that_o sin_n what_o a_o foolish_a lust_n be_v this_o for_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n to_o go_v and_o get_v the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o he_o must_v undo_v all_o again_o though_o it_o be_v to_o his_o shame_n oh_o consider_v what_o a_o folly_n it_o be_v you_o deceitful_a servant_n that_o spend_v away_o that_o upon_o your_o lust_n that_o you_o cheat_v and_o cozen_v your_o master_n of_o afterward_o when_o you_o come_v to_o set_v up_o for_o yourselves_o you_o must_v restore_v what_o you_o have_v purloin_v and_o it_o may_v be_v a_o great_a part_n of_o your_o estate_n must_v be_v repay_v in_o way_n of_o restitution_n it_o must_v be_v do_v there_o be_v no_o gainsaying_n of_o it_o and_o therefore_o what_o a_o foolish_a lust_n it_o be_v to_o be_v set_v upon_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n so_o as_o to_o get_v they_o in_o a_o earthly_a way_n 6._o and_o then_o foolish_a observe_v this_o one_o note_n by_o earthly-mindednesse_a they_o do_v lose_v the_o comfort_n of_o earthly_a thing_n before_o they_o have_v they_o i_o make_v it_o out_o thus_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o have_v cark_n thought_n about_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o it_o may_v be_v by_o their_o inordinate_a thought_n and_o care_n and_o affection_n after_o some_o earthly_a thing_n they_o contract_v much_o guiltiness_n upon_o their_o own_o spirit_n yet_o after_o this_o perhaps_o god_n do_v give_v they_o that_o earthly_a thing_n now_o when_o they_o have_v get_v it_o if_o they_o have_v any_o light_n in_o their_o conscience_n their_o convince_a conscience_n will_v then_o reflect_v thus_o upon_o they_o i_o have_v get_v this_o indeed_o oh_o but_o have_v i_o it_o with_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n i_o have_v it_o in_o my_o costody_n but_o i_o get_v it_o dear_o it_o cost_v i_o such_o thought_n and_o care_n and_o affection_n before_o i_o have_v it_o and_o now_o i_o have_v it_o i_o can_v say_v it_o come_v out_o of_o god_n love_n i_o rather_o fear_v that_o god_n have_v give_v it_o i_o in_o his_o wrath_n because_o i_o get_v it_o in_o such_o a_o way_n now_o all_o the_o comfort_n be_v go_v and_o lose_v whereas_o have_v it_o come_v in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n
