zeal_n for_o the_o moral_a law_n do_v hand_n over_o head_n urge_v and_o press_v the_o same_o as_o the_o rule_n of_o saint_n never_o consider_v how_o or_o in_o what_o sense_n the_o same_o remain_v a_o rule_n and_o by_o so_o do_v they_o bring_v the_o glorious_a son_n of_o zion_n the_o freeborn_a saint_n of_o the_o gospel_n under_o the_o power_n and_o command_n of_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n ere_o they_o be_v aware_a who_o mistake_n be_v correct_v by_o distinguish_v of_o command_n as_o they_o be_v moses_n and_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o sense_n the_o law_n be_v not_o a_o saint_n rule_n and_o it_o be_v dangerous_a so_o to_o make_v it_o in_o the_o latter_a it_o be_v and_o it_o be_v sweet_a and_o comfortable_a so_o to_o receive_v it_o therefore_o you_o that_o be_v saint_n and_o believer_n hence_o learn_v two_o thing_n i_o not_o to_o reject_v the_o moral_a law_n as_o a_o rule_n to_o order_v your_o life_n and_o conversation_n by_o but_o with_o love_n delight_n and_o cheerfulness_n approve_v of_o embrace_v and_o obey_v the_o same_o 2_o not_o to_o take_v the_o moral_a law_n for_o your_o rule_n as_o it_o come_v out_o of_o moses_n his_o hand_n for_o than_o you_o bring_v yourselves_o under_o the_o power_n of_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n and_o your_o soul_n will_v be_v continual_o fill_v with_o terror_n fear_n and_o tremble_a cover_v over_o with_o darkness_n lie_v in_o these_o person_n although_o there_o be_v somewhat_o of_o the_o gospel_n at_o the_o bottom_n yet_o may_v there_o be_v much_o of_o the_o law_n at_o the_o top_n much_o doubt_v darkness_n fear_n terror_n etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o they_o may_v be_v true_a saint_n and_o gospel-walkers_a as_o the_o gospel_n be_v at_o the_o bottom_n of_o their_o action_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n at_o the_o bottom_n though_o darkness_n fear_n terror_n etc._n etc._n at_o the_o top_n 2_o there_o be_v other_o who_o be_v not_o only_o free_v from_o condemnation_n but_o enjoy_v and_o believe_v this_o their_o freedom_n and_o know_v that_o the_o law_n their_o former_a husband_n have_v now_o nothing_o to_o do_v with_o they_o but_o they_o be_v only_o under_o the_o command_n of_o christ_n who_o be_v their_o king_n lawgiver_n and_o husband_n their_o walk_n be_v a_o pure_a gospel-walke_a i.e._n there_o be_v not_o that_o darkness_n doubt_v fear_n self-love_n in_o their_o walk_n as_o in_o the_o walk_v of_o the_o other_o but_o their_o action_n do_v spring_n from_o pure_a love_n to_o god_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n love_v to_o their_o neighbour_n etc._n etc._n now_o the_o thing_n that_o i_o have_v before_o speak_v of_o as_o touch_v gospel-walking_a do_v chief_o relate_v to_o these_o latter_a sort_n of_o person_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o open_n of_o this_o truth_n the_o application_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o it_o the_o whole_a walk_n of_o a_o gospel-saint_n so_o far_o as_o he_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o gospel_n be_v direct_v by_o the_o spirit_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v of_o all_o other_o the_o most_o excellent_a walk_v this_o gospel-walk_a it_o excel_v a_o pure_a natural_a walk_n or_o a_o legal_a walk_n in_o a_o pure_a natural_a walk_n there_o the_o principle_n be_v natural_a light_n &_o natural_a conscience_n in_o a_o legal_a walk_n there_o the_o principle_n be_v fear_n and_o apprehension_n of_o wrath_n but_o now_o in_o a_o gospel-walk_a the_o principle_n be_v the_o spirit_n now_o by_o how_o much_o the_o principle_n be_v more_o excellent_a by_o so_o much_o the_o action_n duty_n the_o walk_n be_v more_o excellent_a as_o let_v a_o man_n have_v two_o servant_n one_o serve_v he_o out_o of_o love_n and_o from_o a_o principle_n of_o ingenuity_n because_o he_o have_v receive_v some_o favour_n from_o the_o hand_n of_o his_o master_n the_o other_o serve_v he_o for_o fear_n or_o in_o hope_n to_o receive_v somewhat_o from_o his_o master_n he_o do_v the_o most_o excellent_a service_n that_o serve_v he_o out_o of_o love_n and_o from_o ingenuity_n because_o the_o principle_n be_v most_o excellent_a whence_o that_o he_o do_v arise_v gospel_n obedience_n be_v excellent_a obedience_n there_o be_v a_o stamp_n of_o divine_a excellency_n upon_o that_o which_o be_v upon_o no_o other_o obedience_n in_o the_o world_n and_o the_o more_o any_o christian_n come_v to_o this_o to_o walk_v and_o to_o obey_v according_a to_o the_o gopel_n the_o more_o excellent_a christian_a he_o be_v a_o pure_a gospel-walking_a it_o be_v the_o high_a sublimest_n the_o most_o excellent_a walk_v on_o this_o side_n the_o walk_n of_o glorify_a saint_n in_o heaven_n which_o shall_v be_v a_o mighty_a encouragement_n to_o we_o all_o to_o press_v after_o this_o gospel-walk_a use_v 2._o this_o show_v we_o why_o there_o be_v such_o a_o mystery_n in_o gospel-walking_a that_o a_o mere_a natural_a man_n can_v conceive_v what_o manner_n of_o walk_v a_o gospel-walk_a be_v why_o because_o gospel-walking_a be_v a_o walk_n after_o the_o spirit_n the_o natural_a man_n say_v the_o apostle_n perceive_v not_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o spirit_n neither_o can_v he_o know_v they_o because_o they_o be_v spiritual_o discern_v though_o a_o natural_a man_n have_v knowledge_n and_o insight_n into_o the_o thing_n of_o nature_n and_o the_o thing_n of_o morality_n because_o these_o be_v within_o the_o sphere_n of_o his_o reason_n and_o natural_a understanding_n and_o also_o
into_o the_o thing_n of_o he_o gospel_n in_o a_o notional_a way_n as_o he_o take_v up_o these_o thing_n by_o relation_n of_o other_o and_o believe_v and_o give_v credit_n to_o those_o principle_n which_o from_o relation_n he_o have_v receive_v he_o be_v able_a by_o his_o part_n and_o reason_n and_o natural_a understanding_n to_o deduce_v and_o infer_v from_o these_o other_o principle_n and_o conclusion_n whereby_o in_o a_o notional_a way_n he_o may_v by_o mere_a part_n of_o nature_n attain_v to_o a_o competent_a measure_n of_o gospel-knowledge_n yet_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o they_o be_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o spirit_n i.e._n thing_n make_v out_o to_o he_o not_o by_o relation_n of_o other_o but_o by_o the_o inward_a revelation_n inspiration_n and_o teach_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v mystery_n to_o he_o they_o be_v thing_n out_o of_o his_o sphere_n which_o his_o reason_n and_o natural_a understanding_n can_v reach_v and_o therefore_o he_o be_v blind_a in_o these_o thing_n a_o blind_a man_n we_o know_v can_v guess_v at_o thing_n when_o he_o have_v they_o declare_v to_o he_o by_o relation_n of_o other_o which_o have_v their_o sight_n and_o see_v those_o thing_n but_o though_o he_o guess_v at_o they_o yet_o he_o can_v pass_v a_o right_a judgement_n upon_o they_o his_o conception_n be_v dark_a and_o cloudy_a various_a and_o too_o and_o fro_o and_o not_o those_o clear_a and_o steadfast_a conception_n which_o another_o man_n which_o have_v his_o sight_n and_o see_v and_o behold_v these_o thing_n have_v of_o they_o so_o a_o natural_a man_n when_o he_o hear_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o spirit_n discover_v to_o he_o by_o another_o which_o see_v and_o enjoy_v these_o thing_n he_o though_o he_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n yet_o by_o his_o reason_n and_o part_n he_o can_v divine_a and_o guess_v at_o these_o thing_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o clear_a and_o certain_a conception_n he_o have_v they_o not_o so_o all_o these_o thing_n never_o do_v it_o because_o these_o be_v thing_n alienate_v from_o their_o generation_n so_o take_v a_o natural_a man_n he_o be_v altogether_o unable_a to_o pass_v a_o right_a judgement_n upon_o the_o action_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n which_o they_o do_v as_o lead_v and_o guide_v by_o the_o spirit_n because_o these_o be_v thing_n altogether_o alienate_v from_o that_o which_o he_o in_o a_o natural_a way_n do_v feel_v know_v or_o experiment_n in_o himself_o yea_o shall_v one_o natural_a man_n be_v able_a to_o pass_v a_o right_a judgement_n upon_o the_o action_n of_o a_o spiritual_a man_n yet_o can_v he_o not_o make_v other_o capable_a thereof_o because_o the_o judgement_n of_o spiritual_a thing_n be_v a_o thing_n alienate_v from_o their_o generation_n therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n how_o they_o will_v hold_v but_o he_o himself_o be_v judge_v of_o no_o man_n that_o be_v no_o man_n which_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n be_v able_a to_o judge_v of_o he_o his_o action_n principle_n etc._n etc._n wherein_o he_o be_v guide_v by_o the_o spirit_n the_o walk_n and_o action_n of_o the_o spiritual_a man_n be_v a_o mystery_n and_o riddle_n to_o other_o man_n whereas_o their_o way_n action_n by_o will_v we_o judge_v of_o man_n will_v we_o judge_v of_o action_n what_o in_o deed_n or_o in_o truth_n they_o be_v the_o judge_n of_o they_o by_o what_o there_o be_v of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o one_o or_o the_o other_o 1_o for_o person_n the_o great_a difference_n all_o along_o the_o new_a testament_n betwixt_o saint_n and_o sinner_n be_v this_o and_o only_o this_o one_o have_v a_o spirit_n the_o other_o not_o saint_n have_v a_o spirit_n sinner_n have_v not_o the_o spirit_n we_o have_v the_o spirit_n say_v paul_n and_o again_o if_o any_o man_n have_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n he_o be_v none_o of_o he_o he_o make_v the_o great_a business_n of_o judge_a person_n whether_o they_o be_v right_a or_o wrong_n sincere_a or_o hypocrite_n sound_v or_o rot_v to_o lie_v in_o this_o the_o have_v or_o not_o have_v of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o primitive_a time_n when_o christian_n come_v together_o they_o use_v to_o ask_v one_o another_o have_v you_o receive_v the_o spirit_n they_o do_v not_o judge_v of_o man_n as_o we_o do_v now_o such_o a_o man_n be_v a_o good_a man_n he_o pray_v hear_v etc._n etc._n no_o but_o have_v the_o spirit_n there_o be_v a_o hundred_o thing_n which_o man_n look_v upon_o and_o call_v godliness_n which_o indeed_o be_v no_o part_n of_o it_o for_o a_o man_n to_o pray_v and_o perform_v some_o moral_a duty_n which_o natural_a conscience_n may_v compel_v a_o man_n unto_o this_o do_v not_o make_v a_o man_n a_o godly_a man_n but_o this_o be_v that_o which_o make_v a_o man_n a_o godly_a man_n indeed_o and_o distinguish_v he_o peter_n but_o peter_n come_v from_o the_o spirit_n and_o judasses_n not_o his_o be_v a_o gospel-act_n and_o not_o the_o other_o it_o be_v not_o the_o outward_a walk_n but_o the_o inward_a principle_n that_o make_v the_o difference_n of_o walk_v use_v 4._o then_o hence_o let_v we_o learn_v not_o to_o put_v too_o much_o in_o any_o outward_a form_n i_o be_o not_o of_o their_o mind_n who_o be_v against_o all_o form_n for_o out_o ward_v form_n there_o be_v as_o well_o as_o duty_n of_o christ_n own_o institution_n but_o this_o i_o say_v since_o gospel-walking_a be_v walk_v after_o the_o the_o spirit_n and_o follow_v of_o it_o saint_n have_v the_o spirit_n promise_v to_o teach_v and_o lead_v they_o but_o they_o do_v not_o follow_v their_o leader_n and_o hence_o grow_v all_o those_o mistake_n and_o error_n that_o be_v in_o believer_n from_o their_o not_o follow_v their_o leader_n have_v we_o but_o so_o much_o heavenly_a wisdom_n and_o grace_n as_o observe_v the_o go_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o to_o follow_v he_o in_o his_o own_o way_n or_o path_n we_o shall_v not_o miss_v the_o will_n of_o god_n so_o frequent_o as_o we_o do_v seldom_o do_v a_o saint_n mistake_v but_o he_o shall_v find_v if_o he_o do_v but_o look_v back_o where_o his_o mistake_n begin_v that_o there_o he_o do_v cease_v to_o follow_v his_o leader_n either_o he_o do_v turn_v aside_o to_o pride_n curiosity_n or_o somewhat_o which_o he_o shall_v not_o have_v do_v and_o there_o the_o spirit_n which_o before_o sensible_o go_v along_o with_o he_o leave_v he_o so_o that_o he_o go_v about_o grope_v after_o that_o truth_n which_o before_o he_o see_v by_o another_o inward_a secret_a light_n only_o by_o the_o light_n of_o his_o own_o reason_n and_o natural_a understanding_n so_o that_o sometime_o a_o soul_n which_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o spirit_n can_v say_v here_o and_o here_o i_o leave_v to_o follow_v my_o leader_n and_o ever_o since_o i_o have_v be_v in_o the_o dark_a whilst_o i_o go_v along_o humble_o seek_v after_o truth_n and_o the_o will_n of_o god_n as_o god_n shall_v make_v out_o the_o same_o to_o i_o i_o see_v thingsclear_a and_o with_o much_o evidence_n and_o inward_a thy_o spirit_n grow_v not_o hence_o by_o degree_n to_o a_o affectation_n of_o novelty_n or_o new_a thing_n many_o there_o be_v who_o first_o take_v delight_n to_o pry_v into_o dark_a and_o curious_a question_n and_o when_o they_o have_v go_v on_o thus_o a_o while_n there_o be_v nothing_o will_v please_v they_o but_o new_a thing_n and_o curious_a thing_n they_o grow_v out_o of_o love_n with_o old_a truth_n and_o spiritual_a heart_n matter_n these_o be_v fetch_v by_o and_o it_o must_v be_v some_o fine_a new_a tickle_a question_n that_o be_v fit_a matter_n only_o for_o their_o thought_n and_o meditation_n and_o as_o for_o all_o thing_n else_o they_o account_v they_o but_o low_a thing_n and_o those_o that_o hold_v they_o and_o press_v they_o man_n of_o low_a light_n and_o of_o a_o low_a form_n as_o they_o say_v i_o be_o almost_o confident_a of_o if_o that_o most_o of_o the_o error_n this_o day_n broach_v or_o on_o foot_n in_o england_n or_o elsewhere_o do_v grow_v out_o of_o this_o root_n viz._n a_o neglect_n of_o exercise_v the_o heart_n about_o spiritual_a thing_n and_o a_o desire_n to_o be_v always_o pry_v into_o dark_a thing_n from_o whence_o by_o degree_n there_o creep_v into_o the_o soul_n a_o love_n of_o novelty_n and_o new_a matter_n which_o no_o soon_o be_v in_o any_o but_o the_o heart_n be_v as_o prone_a and_o apt_a to_o suck_v in_o error_n as_o a_o sponge_n water_n and_o of_o all_o spirit_n in_o search_v after_o truth_n i_o shall_v desire_v the_o lord_n to_o keep_v i_o from_o this_o a_o spirit_n delight_v itself_o in_o and_o affect_v novelty_n and_o new_a thing_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o point_n with_o the_o application_n i_o shall_v leave_v to_o the_o next_o opportunity_n the_o second_o sermon_n on_o 1_o tim._n 6.11_o fellow_n after_o righteousness_n godliness_n etc._n etc._n the_o last_o opportunity_n i_o have_v in_o this_o place_n i_o tell_v you_o that_o the_o apostle_n give_v these_o word_n as_o a_o direction_n to_o his_o scholar_n timothy_n and_o in_o he_o to_o all_o believer_n how_o to_o escape_v the_o dangerous_a error_n and_o evil_n that_o then_o be_v or_o at_o any_o time_n shall_v be_v abroad_o the_o direction_n that_o the_o only_a and_o special_a way_n for_o a_o saint_n to_o be_v deliver_v from_o the_o error_n and_o evil_n of_o the_o time_n he_o live_v in_o be_v to_o have_v his_o heart_n as_o much_o as_o may_v be_v take_v up_o with_o and_o his_o spirit_n exercise_v about_o high_a and_o spiritual_a thing_n i_o prove_v it_o then_o unto_o you_o and_o also_o show_v you_o what_o i_o do_v mean_a by_o spiritual_a thing_n i_o now_o proceed_v to_o the_o reason_n why_o the_o exercise_v the_o heart_n about_o spiritual_a thing_n be_v such_o a_o preservative_n against_o the_o error_n and_o evil_n of_o the_o time_n we_o live_v in_o reas_n 1._o because_o such_o a_o heart_n as_o be_v exercise_v about_o spiritual_a thing_n find_v not_o leisure_n to_o run_v out_o after_o those_o poor_a low_a thing_n which_o other_o trifle_v away_o their_o time_n and_o lose_v themselves_o about_o many_o there_o be_v in_o the_o world_n of_o who_o it_o may_v be_v say_v as_o pharaoh_n once_o say_v of_o the_o israelite_n you_o be_v idle_a you_o be_v idle_a who_o be_v very_a idler_n and_o do_v nothing_o at_o all_o in_o spiritual_n by_o reason_n whereof_o their_o heart_n have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o leisure_n which_o because_o they_o will_v be_v do_v and_o find_v nothing_o to_o take_v too_o they_o busy_a themselves_o just_a as_o child_n and_o boy_n do_v when_o they_o be_v idle_a about_o this_o toy_n and_o the_o other_o such_o a_o querk_n and_o such_o a_o query_n their_o time_n and_o thought_n be_v busy_v about_o and_o they_o be_v continual_o fancy_v and_o invent_v new_a notion_n and_o chimera_n and_o this_o bear_v the_o bell_n and_o be_v all_o in_o request_n to_o day_n and_o this_o to_o morrow_n and_o thus_o they_o strange_o lose_v themselves_o run_v from_o one_o fancy_n unto_o another_o till_o in_o the_o end_n they_o have_v outrun_v reason_n religion_n and_o all_o whereas_o now_o a_o saint_n which_o have_v his_o heart_n exercise_v about_o spiritual_a thing_n be_v like_o a_o man_n which_o be_v in_o great_a deal_n and_o trade_n which_o have_v many_o weighty_a affair_n under_o his_o hand_n together_o and_o be_v by_o reason_n hereof_o so_o full_a of_o employment_n that_o he_o can_v find_v time_n to_o beat_v his_o brain_n about_o this_o querk_n and_o the_o other_o query_n all_o the_o time_n that_o he_o have_v be_v little_a enough_o and_o too_o little_a to_o follow_v so_o as_o that_o he_o may_v not_o be_v a_o loose_a of_o his_o great_a employment_n he_o find_v that_o have_v he_o two_o day_n whereas_o he_o have_v but_o one_o time_n will_v be_v too_o little_a for_o he_o to_o busy_v himself_o how_o he_o may_v enjoy_v more_o communion_n with_o god_n understand_v more_o of_o the_o great_a mystery_n of_o godliness_n get_v his_o heart_n more_o mortify_v his_o grace_n more_o quicken_v etc._n etc._n though_o he_o shall_v allow_v other_o thing_n no_o time_n at_o all_o because_o to_o a_o heart_n that_o be_v exercise_v about_o spiritual_a thing_n other_o thing_n be_v dry_a and_o empty_a such_o a_o heart_n neither_o find_v relish_n in_o they_o nor_o satisfaction_n from_o they_o a_o spiritual_a heart_n delight_v in_o thing_n and_o relish_v they_o as_o they_o be_v spiritual_a that_o which_o much_o relish_v a_o carnal_a heart_n be_v very_o dis-relishing_a to_o the_o spiritual_a man_n as_o take_v a_o carnal_a ear_n that_o love_v to_o hear_v thing_n where_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o curiosity_n and_o of_o the_o varnish_n of_o humane_a wit_n and_o wisdom_n but_o now_o take_v a_o spiritual_a ear_n that_o delight_v to_o hear_v such_o thing_n as_o have_v in_o they_o evidence_n and_o demonstration_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o power_n and_o find_v a_o dis-relishing_a of_o other_o thing_n so_o take_v a_o carnal_a eye_n that_o delight_v to_o behold_v such_o thing_n as_o please_v the_o natural_a sense_n and_o delight_v the_o fancy_n but_o now_o a_o spiritual_a soul_n that_o delight_v to_o behold_v such_o thing_n as_o may_v elevate_v the_o soul_n and_o raise_v the_o affection_n more_o towards_o heaven_n so_o take_v a_o carnal_a heart_n that_o be_v well_o please_v when_o it_o be_v exercise_v about_o toy_n this_o vain_a needless_a question_n and_o the_o other_o but_o now_o a_o spiritual_a heart_n that_o can_v take_v no_o comfortable_a relish_n in_o thing_n of_o this_o nature_n but_o they_o be_v dry_a and_o empty_a unto_o it_o and_o therefore_o it_o shun_v and_o avoyd_v they_o and_o so_o escape_v the_o danger_n that_o come_v by_o they_o 3_o because_o such_o a_o heart_n as_o be_v exercise_v in_o and_o take_v up_o with_o spiritual_a thing_n life_n as_o i_o may_v say_v in_o another_o world_n whither_o these_o vapour_n which_o make_v the_o brain_n of_o many_o man_n giddy_a and_o their_o conversation_n unsteadfast_a do_v not_o ascend_v he_o live_v in_o the_o heavenly_a world_n and_o be_v
truth_n of_o the_o scripture_n may_v plead_v the_o number_n and_o worth_n of_o its_o patron_n and_o friend_n this_o may_v let_v we_o learn_v to_o give_v honour_n to_o who_o honour_n be_v due_a and_o reverence_n and_o respect_n to_o holy_a man_n and_o to_o their_o holiness_n so_o far_o as_o the_o same_o be_v due_a but_o let_v the_o ability_n or_o holiness_n of_o no_o man_n or_o man_n be_v the_o standard_n of_o our_o principle_n for_o it_o be_v not_o any_o thing_n within_o but_o the_o bless_a word_n without_o that_o be_v the_o only_a sure_a foundation_n to_o truth_n bottom_n to_o our_o the_o old_a covenant_n have_v pass_v upon_o they_o they_o have_v repent_v and_o mourn_v and_o be_v humble_v and_o be_v reform_v etc._n etc._n true_o all_o this_o a_o man_n may_v be_v and_o yet_o as_o christ_n say_v a_o publican_n and_o harlot_n may_v get_v into_o heaven_n before_o he_o all_o this_o if_o there_o be_v no_o more_o do_v not_o evidence_n a_o dram_n of_o grace_n for_o all_o this_o may_v be_v by_o the_o old_a covenant_n which_o be_v not_o a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n nor_o do_v convey_v grace_n the_o old_a covenant_n as_o i_o shall_v show_v hereafter_o can_v do_v glorious_a thing_n it_o can_v make_v a_o man_n work_v till_o he_o sweat_v again_o so_o reform_v as_o that_o one_o will_v think_v that_o man_n which_o the_o other_o day_n be_v a_o notorious_a sinner_n be_v become_v a_o the_o positive_a the_o question_n now_o be_v quest_n what_o kind_n of_o covenant_n be_v this_o old_a covenant_n ans_fw-fr the_o most_o proper_a name_n that_o can_v be_v give_v to_o it_o to_o express_v its_o nature_n be_v to_o style_v it_o a_o conditional_a covenant_n a_o name_n that_o suit_n excellent_o well_o with_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o old_a and_o do_v also_o better_a than_o any_o other_o distinguish_v it_o from_o the_o new_a which_o according_a to_o name_n and_o nature_n both_o be_v a_o covenant_n absolute_a and_o inconditional_a as_o shall_v the_o lord_n assist_v be_v make_v appear_v when_o we_o come_v to_o treat_v of_o the_o new_a covenant_n if_o you_o ask_v i_o wherein_o or_o in_o what_o thing_n do_v this_o conditionality_n of_o the_o old_a covenant_n appear_v i_o answer_v in_o the_o whole_a of_o it_o whatsoever_o the_o old_a covenant_n hold_v forth_o or_o give_v to_o those_o under_o it_o it_o hold_v forth_o and_o give_v in_o a_o conditional_a way_n the_o old_a covenant_n be_v rich_a have_v its_o hand_n full_a or_o mercy_n and_o blessing_n but_o will_v give_v forth_o none_o but_o upon_o condition_n as_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o new_a covenant_n so_o great_a but_o that_o covenant_n give_v it_o forth_o free_o so_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o old_a covenant_n so_o small_a which_o it_o will_v part_v with_o or_o let_v go_v without_o the_o performance_n of_o some_o condition_n by_o he_o who_o will_v enjoy_v its_o gift_n this_o will_v better_o appear_v if_o we_o consider_v how_o that_o this_o old_a covenant_n have_v two_o great_a gift_n to_o bestow_v 1_o a_o gift_n of_o blessing_n which_o it_o give_v forth_o upon_o condition_n of_o exact_a and_o perfect_a obedience_n to_o all_o those_o thing_n that_o those_o under_o the_o same_o do_v by_o virtue_n either_o of_o moral_a or_o judicial_a precept_n stand_v oblige_v to_o perform_v 2_o a_o gift_n of_o grace_n by_o which_o in_o case_n their_o blessing_n through_o disobedience_n either_o to_o any_o of_o the_o moral_a or_o judicial_a command_n shall_v become_v forfeit_a or_o lose_v and_o themselves_o bring_v under_o the_o contrary_a curse_n they_o may_v again_o recover_v their_o blessing_n and_o be_v deliver_v from_o the_o curse_n but_o this_o also_o be_v upon_o condition_n of_o their_o fly_v for_o refuge_n to_o the_o ceremonial_a law_n do_v that_o thing_n which_o the_o say_a law_n do_v
