worship_n for_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o prayer_n be_v of_o god_n it_o be_v the_o frame_n of_o word_n and_o method_n only_o that_o can_v be_v challenge_v to_o be_v of_o man_n and_o if_o devise_v word_n be_v not_o image_n condemn_v i_o can_v comprehend_v how_o the_o external_a form_n shall_v be_v a_o apparent_a breach_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n but_o if_o this_o reason_n be_v aught_o worth_a it_o be_v a_o manifest_a breach_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n to_o preach_v pray_v administer_v the_o sacrament_n or_o read_v the_o scripture_n in_o a_o prescribe_a translation_n nay_o in_o a_o vulgar_a tongue_n for_o in_o preach_v and_o prayer_n the_o matter_n be_v of_o god_n holy_a and_o good_a but_o the_o word_n and_o phrase_n of_o man_n in_o translation_n the_o matter_n be_v immediate_o inspire_v of_o god_n but_o the_o word_n be_v devise_v of_o man_n the_o sacrament_n be_v god_n ordinance_n by_o special_a and_o express_a institution_n but_o what_o shall_v we_o say_v of_o the_o outward_a form_n of_o word_n use_v in_o the_o administration_n if_o word_n devise_v by_o man_n be_v image_n condemn_v by_o the_o commandment_n do_v we_o not_o make_v one_o commandment_n of_o god_n cross_n to_o another_o when_o we_o say_v that_o god_n require_v these_o thing_n at_o our_o hand_n and_o yet_o condemn_v all_o devise_a word_n without_o which_o they_o
heart_n and_o move_v affection_n and_o when_o this_o may_v be_v do_v better_a by_o the_o help_n of_o a_o book_n in_o prayer_n then_o of_o ourselves_o how_o can_v the_o use_v thereof_o be_v accuse_v as_o the_o quench_n of_o the_o spirit_n it_o be_v the_o spirit_n indeed_o that_o do_v help_v we_o in_o our_o infirmity_n but_o we_o must_v use_v mean_n to_o stir_v up_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o minister_n in_o the_o kingdom_n be_v stint_v to_o the_o same_o measure_n of_o the_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n and_o if_o in_o those_o particular_n that_o form_n of_o reason_v be_v of_o no_o weight_n in_o this_o it_o be_v but_o a_o empty_a sound_n a_o stint_a form_n deprive_v not_o the_o minister_n or_o church_n of_o that_o liberty_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o god_n will_v have_v they_o use_v see_v they_o may_v use_v that_o notwithstanding_o as_o the_o several_a occasion_n of_o the_o church_n or_o people_n shall_v require_v if_o all_o minister_n throughout_o the_o christian_a world_n shall_v put_v up_o the_o same_o holy_a and_o just_a petition_n to_o god_n in_o the_o same_o phrase_n of_o speech_n as_o in_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n prayer_n they_o shall_v neither_o stint_v the_o their_o pastor_n in_o the_o gift_n of_o prayer_n the_o wife_n excel_v the_o husband_n the_o child_n or_o servant_n excel_v the_o master_n or_o governor_n be_v the_o spirit_n quench_v in_o they_o when_o it_o be_v stint_v for_o the_o time_n to_o their_o measure_n in_o prayer_n suppose_v divers_a christian_n meet_v upon_o occasion_n the_o weak_a in_o gift_n be_v put_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o rest_n be_v the_o spirit_n in_o they_o quench_v because_o it_o be_v stint_v to_o his_o measure_n the_o question_n be_v not_o of_o prayer_n devise_v by_o a_o man_n self_n 15._o or_o of_o limit_v the_o child_n of_o twelve_o or_o thirteen_o year_n old_a may_v read_v a_o stint_a prayer_n as_o well_o as_o the_o minister_n the_o same_o may_v be_v say_v of_o read_v the_o scripture_n but_o stint_a any_o show_n of_o reason_n what_o be_v here_o object_v against_o a_o prescribe_a form_n may_v be_v affirm_v of_o a_o prescribe_a place_n time_n and_o order_n for_o the_o celebration_n of_o divine_a ordinance_n which_o be_v of_o the_o same_o nature_n with_o it_o and_o no_o more_o determine_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o suppose_v the_o minister_n or_o governor_n maintain_v some_o erroneous_a conceit_n touch_v the_o prescribe_a form_n of_o prayer_n be_v the_o people_n child_n or_o servant_n hereby_o authorize_v to_o withdraw_v themselves_o from_o such_o prayer_n or_o the_o prayer_n themselves_o make_v unacceptable_a to_o such_o as_o know_v how_o to_o use_v they_o aright_o one_o man_n be_v of_o opinion_n that_o a_o prescribe_a form_n be_v better_a than_o another_o another_o that_o a_o prescribe_a form_n be_v unlawful_a one_o that_o it_o be_v best_o ordinary_o to_o use_v a_o stint_a form_n another_o that_o he_o be_v to_o pray_v always_o according_a to_o the_o present_a occasion_n in_o a_o different_a order_n and_o phrase_n of_o speech_n in_o these_o case_n if_o the_o least_o error_n do_v stain_v the_o prayer_n to_o other_o that_o they_o may_v not_o lawful_o join_v together_o with_o who_o shall_v the_o faithful_a join_v at_o all_o be_v not_o this_o to_o fill_v the_o conscience_n with_o scruple_n and_o the_o church_n with_o rent_n error_n and_o
