mother_n like_o daughter_n such_o be_v the_o seed_n such_o be_v the_o harvest_n they_o go_v from_o cradle_n to_o grave_n and_o from_o grave_n to_o damnation_n their_o whole_a care_n be_v for_o to_o give_v every_o beggar_n that_o ask_v a_o alm_n of_o we_o but_o if_o we_o absolute_o crave_v without_o this_o exception_n we_o break_v the_o law_n of_o prayer_n and_o bring_v the_o majesty_n of_o god_n into_o bondage_n by_o our_o petition_n this_o teach_v we_o this_o profitable_a lesson_n that_o before_o we_o pray_v we_o shall_v learn_v and_o consider_v our_o want_n by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o we_o ask_v not_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o almighty_a any_o thing_n beside_o that_o which_o be_v godly_a honest_a and_o lawful_a for_o many_o i_o be_o persuade_v do_v sudden_o and_o unaduised_o start_v up_o into_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n with_o rash_a and_o ungodly_a desire_n because_o they_o want_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o due_a consideration_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o they_o want_v of_o this_o sort_n be_v all_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o papist_n for_o they_o neither_o understand_v their_o prayer_n in_o a_o strange_a tongue_n nor_o yet_o will_v examine_v they_o by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n unto_o these_o i_o add_v the_o prayer_n and_o wish_n of_o the_o ignorant_a multitude_n which_o be_v as_o far_o from_o the_o 〈◊〉_d yer_n of_o the_o faithful_a as_o the_o moon_n be_v from_o the_o earth_n for_o as_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o go_v without_o his_o leg_n or_o to_o see_v without_o his_o eye_n so_o be_v it_o impossible_a for_o these_o to_o pray_v without_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o gospel_n for_o in_o our_o prayer_n we_o must_v speak_v to_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o own_o tongue_n as_o he_o speak_v in_o his_o word_n but_o what_o can_v these_o personne_n bring_v out_o of_o the_o treasure_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n scant_o one_o sentence_n in_o the_o whole_a gospel_n right_o understand_v how_o they_o can_v they_o bring_v the_o matter_n of_o their_o whole_a prayer_n if_o they_o want_v but_o one_o thing_n that_o will_v suffice_v but_o who_o be_v live_v which_o stand_v not_o god_n his_o word_n than_o you_o will_v do_v with_o it_o as_o a_o cunning_a workman_n in_o his_o trade_n he_o will_v ever_o take_v delight_n in_o his_o work_n &_o occupation_n even_o so_o if_o you_o have_v this_o this_o feel_n you_o will_v delight_v in_o prayer_n which_o now_o be_v a_o hell_n unto_o many_o than_o your_o heart_n both_o private_o will_v be_v as_o studious_a in_o meditate_v goodness_n as_o ever_o they_o be_v desirous_a of_o worldly_a pleasure_n and_o will_v public_o breathe_v after_o it_o as_o the_o heart_n in_o his_o chase_n do_v after_o the_o well_o spring_v but_o oh_o dear_o belove_v this_o condemn_v the_o world_n of_o hatred_n of_o god_n of_o the_o pride_n of_o themselves_o of_o ignorance_n in_o the_o truth_n of_o coldness_n in_o religion_n of_o truâ—â—ing_v in_o the_o world_n mispend_v of_o time_n love_v of_o pleasure_n and_o lack_v of_o devotion_n that_o they_o be_v as_o hardly_o draw_v to_o prayer_n according_a to_o the_o common_a proverb_n as_o a_o hare_n take_v with_o a_o tabret_a think_v you_o that_o these_o person_n which_o absent_a themselves_o from_o public_a petition_n and_o private_a prayer_n have_v any_o love_n of_o god_n in_o they_o nay_o be_v not_o those_o condemn_v which_o be_v draw_v to_o they_o against_o their_o will_n and_o where_o shall_v these_o curse_a companion_n appear_v which_o forsake_v sermon_n go_v out_o of_o church_n lie_v idle_o at_o home_n and_o be_v disport_v themselves_o in_o bravery_n abroad_o when_o the_o time_n of_o prayer_n call_v for_o their_o presence_n at_o home_n or_o in_o the_o church_n do_v they_o not_o separate_v themselves_o from_o the_o faithful_a in_o this_o life_n and_o therefore_o they_o shall_v be_v miserable_o damn_v with_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o angel_n and_o everlasting_o exclude_v
