and_o to_o apply_v the_o word_n or_o scripture_n in_o the_o present_a sense_n be_v not_o the_o real_a but_o the_o virtual_a judge_n i_o the_o law_n the_o rule_n and_o measure_n whereby_o we_o judge_v of_o our_o own_o or_o other_o spirit_n we_o ourselves_o or_o other_o that_o call_v our_o spirit_n in_o question_n be_v rather_o judge_n obj._n but_o thus_o we_o go_v about_o and_o be_v not_o that_o worse_a to_o lift_v up_o man_n above_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n answ_n the_o answer_n hereunto_o will_v bring_v we_o to_o the_o nick_n of_o the_o very_a business_n for_o we_o must_v here_o be_v mindful_a that_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v now_o upon_o the_o stage_n be_v not_o know_v but_o doubt_v for_o that_o which_o we_o have_v the_o knowledge_n of_o what_o need_v we_o put_v upon_o trial_n indeed_o upon_o assurance_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o divinity_n of_o the_o spirit_n we_o speak_v of_o the_o word_n can_v proper_o be_v call_v the_o judge_n and_o trial_n of_o it_o but_o rather_o its_o proof_n and_o evidence_n but_o as_o our_o spirit_n be_v suspicious_a questionable_a so_o only_o we_o judge_v of_o and_o try_v they_o by_o scripture_n the_o truth_n the_o touchstone_n the_o law_n be_v not_o make_v for_o a_o righteous_a man_n yet_o if_o a_o righteous_a man_n fall_v under_o the_o shadow_n of_o suspicion_n the_o law_n must_v try_v and_o clear_v he_o he_o be_v not_o try_v for_o judgement_n but_o satisfaction_n he_o be_v not_o try_v as_o a_o good_a and_o righreous_a man_n but_o as_o one_o that_o be_v fear_v doubt_a to_o be_v a_o evil_a doer_n the_o law_n be_v make_v for_o man_n and_o not_o man_n for_o the_o law_n it_o be_v inferior_a to_o he_o yea_o even_o his_o servant_n in_o this_o respect_n as_o it_o serve_v to_o try_v and_o judge_v of_o suspicious_a and_o doubt_a man_n no_o more_o be_v the_o word_n above_o but_o a_o servant_n to_o the_o spirit_n as_o it_o be_v the_o judge_n and_o trial_n of_o suspicious_a spirit_n moreover_o 2._o the_o word_n do_v never_o try_v any_o spirit_n in_o it_o self_n but_o in_o its_o effect_n it_o do_v proper_o therefore_o not_o judge_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o as_o it_o tri_v its_o effect_n and_o judge_v of_o they_o we_o find_v our_o way_n our_o thought_n to_o be_v truth_n conclude_v therefrom_o that_o they_o be_v guide_v and_o act_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n we_o by_o the_o scripture_n likewise_o try_v and_o
