it_o be_v god_n office_n too_o govern_v such_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n as_o walk_v in_o his_o fear_n and_o in_o modesty_n moreover_o he_o tell_v we_o how_o he_o have_v establish_v the_o civil_a state_n of_o the_o world_n and_o that_o judge_n can_v have_v neither_o wisdom_n nor_o discretion_n but_o at_o his_o hand_n see_v then_o that_o god_n leave_v magistrate_n so_o blind_a that_o they_o they_o and_o work_v their_o excess_n and_o out_o age_n without_o touch_n of_o breast_n we_o must_v consider_v how_o it_o be_v no_o new_a thing_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v great_o astonish_v at_o such_o a_o temptation_n for_o it_o be_v good_a yea_o and_o needful_a for_o we_o to_o be_v arm_v against_o such_o imagination_n we_o see_v how_o our_o own_o mind_n drive_v we_o thereunto_o so_o as_o if_o that_o he_o forslow_v his_o duty_n or_o that_o he_o be_v as_o it_o be_v asleep_a or_o else_o that_o he_o regard_v neither_o good_a nor_o evil_a lo_o what_o fancy_n run_v in_o our_o head_n if_o we_o be_v not_o restrain_v according_a as_o the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o that_o we_o ought_v not_o too_o think_v it_o strange_a though_o the_o earth_n be_v deliver_v after_o that_o sort_n into_o the_o for_o our_o unthankfulness_n deserve_v well_o that_o god_n shall_v bring_v forth_o his_o rod_n and_o make_v we_o feel_v they_o with_o all_o rigour_n therefore_o when_o this_o be_v know_v to_o we_o we_o think_v it_o no_o strange_a sight_n to_o see_v thing_n so_o confound_v here_o below_o as_o we_o may_v say_v that_o the_o earth_n be_v deliver_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o wicked_a or_o that_o we_o shall_v sigh_v at_o the_o come_n thereof_o too_o pass_v because_o that_o god_n give_v we_o warning_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o very_o we_o have_v good_a cause_n to_o sigh_v see_v that_o the_o administration_n of_o justice_n commit_v unto_o they_o can_v have_v the_o mind_n to_o do_v it_o except_o it_o be_v give_v they_o from_o above_o for_o a_o man_n be_v not_o able_a to_o govern_v himself_o and_o how_o shall_v he_o then_o govern_v a_o whole_a realm_n â–ª_o furthermore_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o great_a preeminence_n to_o execute_v god_n office_n in_o this_o world_n and_o therefore_o god_n must_v be_v fain_o to_o work_v in_o those_o who_o he_o have_v set_v in_o high_a estate_n and_o authority_n and_o as_o for_o the_o party_n themselves_o that_o be_v in_o it_o they_o must_v be_v so_o much_o the_o earnest_a in_o call_v upon_o god_n that_o it_o may_v please_v he_o to_o guide_v they_o and_o help_v they_o for_o if_o a_o man_n think_v himself_o to_o be_v of_o sufficient_a ability_n when_o he_o be_v set_v in_o the_o siege_n of_o justice_n &_o trust_v in_o his_o own_o wisdom_n and_o power_n god_n will_v laugh_v he_o to_o scorn_n and_o make_v he_o a_o very_a blockheade_n they_o therefore_o who_o god_n choose_v must_v humble_v themselves_o so_o much_o the_o more_o and_o not_o presume_v upon_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o they_o â–ª_o self_n but_o must_v crave_v the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n the_o spirit_n of_o stoutness_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o uprightness_n that_o god_n may_v give_v they_o the_o power_n and_o ability_n to_o discharge_v their_o duty_n faithful_o thus_o you_o see_v how_o magistrate_n ought_v to_o betake_v themselves_o unto_o god_n in_o all_o care_n and_o fear_n and_o we_o also_o that_o be_v under_o they_o must_v all_o of_o man_n of_o law_n it_o be_v for_o we_o to_o call_v upon_o he_o that_o he_o suffer_v they_o not_o to_o be_v blind_v and_o unable_a to_o discern_v aught_o and_o blockish_a as_o though_o they_o see_v not_o the_o evil_a do_n that_o be_v commit_v and_o like_v as_o we_o must_v sue_v for_o the_o grace_n and_o goodness_n of_o our_o god_n that_o it_o may_v please_v he_o to_o grant_v his_o spirit_n unto_o magistrate_n so_o must_v we_o also_o pray_v he_o too_o give_v we_o such_o strength_n and_o stoutness_n as_o we_o may_v not_o be_v out_o of_o heart_n when_o we_o see_v thing_n go_v amiss_o as_o we_o see_v they_o go_v too_o much_o yea_o and_o from_o evil_a too_o worse_o so_o as_o the_o magistrate_n in_o stead_n of_o rise_v up_o when_o they_o see_v need_n and_o of_o be_v ready_a at_o hand_n to_o maintain_v the_o right_n know_v themselves_o to_o be_v ordain_v of_o god_n for_o the_o same_o purpose_n
the_o thing_n whereby_o he_o take_v no_o profit_n he_o require_v it_o as_o though_o he_o be_v the_o better_a by_o it_o and_o declare_v that_o we_o shall_v not_o lose_v our_o labour_n thereby_o neither_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o thing_n unprofitable_a for_o we_o this_o i_o say_v be_v the_o intent_n of_o our_o god_n when_o he_o encourage_v we_o to_o lead_v a_o good_a life_n furthermore_o use_v such_o flourish_n to_o cover_v our_o fault_n withal_o yet_o be_v we_o marvellous_o ashamed_a if_o it_o happen_v that_o our_o lie_n do_v appear_v what_o shall_v then_o become_v of_o we_o when_o we_o come_v before_o our_o god_n and_o herein_o we_o see_v how_o the_o papist_n be_v deceive_v for_o although_o they_o can_v not_o deny_v but_o that_o they_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o god_n curse_n if_o he_o will_v use_v any_o extremity_n towards_o they_o yet_o will_v they_o allege_v their_o satisfaction_n and_o therein_o play_v the_o merchant_n with_o god_n so_o that_o if_o they_o have_v make_v default_n in_o one_o point_n they_o can_v make_v amends_n for_o it_o another_o away_o yea_o they_o have_v their_o work_n which_o they_o call_v work_n of_o sepererogation_n which_o god_n never_o vain_a fancy_n and_o so_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v conceive_v how_o high_a he_o be_v let_v we_o learn_v to_o acknowledge_v our_o fault_n with_o all_o humility_n and_o make_v no_o reply_n for_o we_o can_v lay_v nothing_o to_o his_o charge_n neither_o can_v we_o allege_v unto_o he_o that_o he_o have_v receive_v any_o thing_n at_o our_o hand_n neither_o that_o he_o be_v any_o thing_n bind_v unto_o not_o from_o thence_o but_o it_o be_v a_o brightness_n reflect_v as_o they_o call_v it_o which_o return_v again_o as_o the_o earth_n receive_v it_o it_o rest_v then_o upon_o the_o earth_n for_o when_o much_o as_o god_n acknowledge_v all_o that_o be_v good_a to_o come_v of_o he_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o he_o love_v that_o which_o be_v good_a as_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o he_o shall_v do_v otherwise_o see_v that_o he_o be_v the_o wellspring_n and_o fountain_n thereof_o otherwise_o he_o force_v not_o in_o respect_n of_o himself_o that_o be_v to_o say_v for_o his_o own_o profit_n
