much_o differ_v upon_o the_o point_n and_o yet_o i_o do_v not_o know_v any_o of_o all_o the_o teacher_n in_o this_o country_n that_o withdraw_v their_o consent_n from_o this_o doctrine_n that_o such_o sanctification_n as_o be_v wrought_v in_o hypocrite_n though_o that_o it_o may_v reach_v to_o great_a improvement_n yet_o it_o be_v no_o evidence_n of_o justification_n at_o all_o it_o have_v be_v handle_v in_o another_o congregation_n and_o i_o think_v not_o without_o weight_n of_o truth_n that_o to_o distinguish_v in_o man_n between_o that_o sanctification_n which_o flow_v from_o the_o law_n feel_v the_o presence_n of_o spiritual_a gift_n but_o want_v spiritual_a light_n and_o when_o they_o do_v find_v faith_n in_o themselves_o they_o will_v find_v it_o in_o hypocrite_n also_o even_o faith_n to_o seek_v the_o lord_n and_o faith_n to_o wait_v upon_o he_o and_o faith_n to_o apply_v he_o say_v my_o god_n and_o faith_n to_o stay_v upon_o the_o god_n of_o israel_n and_o yet_o these_o man_n do_v vanish_v away_o in_o hypocrisy_n this_o hypocrite_n may_v do_v see_v therefore_o what_o easiness_n of_o error_n may_v befall_v christian_n whether_o this_o or_o that_o grace_n may_v be_v of_o the_o right_a stamp_n or_o no_o it_o will_v behoove_v christian_n to_o be_v wary_a for_o even_o eagle-eyed_a christian_n will_v have_v much_o ado_n so_o to_o discern_v of_o sanctification_n in_o themselves_o before_o they_o see_v their_o justification_n as_o to_o cut_v off_o all_o hypocrite_n from_o have_v the_o like_a in_o they_o for_o the_o sanctify_a frame_n of_o life_n in_o god_n child_n and_o that_o which_o seem_v to_o be_v like_o it_o in_o hypocrite_n both_o of_o they_o spring_n from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o both_o from_o faith_n but_o now_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v this_o far_a work_n in_o his_o own_o people_n beyond_o what_o he_o work_v upon_o other_o though_o he_o melt_v both_o yet_o hypocrite_n be_v melt_v as_o iron_n which_o will_v return_v again_o to_o his_o hardness_n but_o his_o own_o people_n be_v melt_v into_o flesh_n which_o will_v never_o return_v to_o his_o hardness_n more_o neither_o can_v they_o rest_v in_o any_o measure_n of_o softness_n unto_o which_o they_o have_v attain_v but_o still_o be_v carry_v towards_o jesus_n christ_n so_o that_o the_o one_o be_v a_o temporary_a faith_n and_o the_o other_o persever_v though_o both_o work_n in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n christ_n yet_o this_o difference_n will_v be_v find_v between_o they_o not_o only_a when_o hypocrite_n come_v to_o be_v blast_v but_o even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o profession_n as_o for_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v not_o precedent_n of_o his_o own_o power_n but_o his_o strength_n lie_v out_o of_o himself_o in_o jesus_n christ_n whereas_o hypocrite_n and_o legal_a christian_n be_v confident_a of_o their_o faith_n that_o they_o can_v make_v use_n of_o it_o unto_o such_o and_o such_o end_n they_o think_v they_o in_o the_o root_n both_o of_o they_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n hypocrite_n may_v have_v a_o taste_n and_o a_o poor_a christian_a will_v fear_v that_o his_o best_a fellowship_n with_o christ_n be_v but_o a_o taste_n and_o that_o manifold_a experience_n make_v good_a wherein_o then_o lie_v the_o difference_n do_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n leave_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o hypocrite_n stony_a and_o unmelted_a it_o be_v so_o indeed_o with_o the_o stony_a but_o not_o with_o the_o thorny_a soil_n for_o the_o heart_n of_o some_o hypocrite_n be_v melt_v as_o iron_n stone_n they_o may_v come_v to_o melt_v about_o their_o own_o estate_n through_o fear_n and_o sorrow_n and_o so_o all_o those_o melt_v that_o want_n not_o depth_n of_o earth_n as_o the_o thorny_a soil_n do_v not_o but_o many_o temptation_n yet_o the_o lord_n will_v keep_v his_o heart_n soft_a for_o ever_o this_o be_v the_o first_o difference_n between_o hypocrite_n and_o god_n own_o servant_n in_o the_o root_n though_o both_o may_v work_v in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n yet_o as_o the_o one_o be_v temporary_a and_o the_o other_o persever_v so_o this_o difference_n you_o shall_v find_v between_o common_a and_o sincere_a christian_n and_o that_o not_o only_a when_o legal_a christian_n be_v blast_v of_o god_n but_o even_o then_o when_o they_o do_v most_o flourish_n in_o their_o profession_n the_o true_a faith_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v never_o precedent_n of_o his_o own_o strength_n but_o go_v out_o of_o himself_o and_o be_v dependent_a on_o jesus_n christ_n whereas_o the_o legal_a christian_a be_v confident_a in_o his_o faith_n that_o he_o can_v make_v use_n of_o it_o to_o these_o and_o these_o end_n which_o be_v before_o he_o he_o think_v there_o be_v no_o more_o needful_a but_o to_o look_v up_o unto_o christ_n and_o so_o his_o work_n be_v do_v whereas_o take_v you_o the_o strong_a faith_n of_o the_o thessalonian_o who_o be_v grow_v to_o such_o height_n that_o need_n be_v there_o of_o sanctification_n for_o if_o the_o holy_a ghost_n will_v dwell_v in_o we_o he_o can_v take_v our_o wit_n and_o understanding_n and_o understand_v all_o our_o meditation_n for_o we_o without_o any_o such_o actual_a concurrence_n of_o we_o as_o may_v be_v requisite_a for_o that_o end_n if_o the_o lord_n give_v himself_o to_o be_v my_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n what_o need_v i_o then_o these_o gift_n of_o holiness_n so_o that_o this_o in_o sum_n be_v the_o question_n if_o the_o lord_n will_v give_v unto_o we_o himself_o what_o need_v we_o these_o gift_n to_o work_v any_o thing_n which_o god_n be_v much_o more_o able_a to_o perform_v than_o we_o can_v be_v this_o spring_v natural_o from_o the_o doctrine_n though_o the_o lord_n give_v we_o himself_o answ_n and_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o dwell_v in_o we_o yet_o be_v it_o needful_a that_o we_o shall_v be_v endue_v with_o all_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n that_o do_v accompany-salvation_n you_o will_v say_v what_o need_n be_v there_o then_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v dwell_v in_o we_o or_o will_v not_o these_o carry_v a_o end_n our_o soul_n unto_o immortality_n true_o we_o have_v need_v that_o the_o lord_n shall_v give_v we_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o dwell_v in_o we_o notwithstanding_o all_o the_o gift_n of_o his_o grace_n though_o they_o indeed_o be_v necessary_a something_o that_o flee_v from_o a_o man_n as_o peace_n will_v many_o time_n flee_v from_o one_o and_o a_o man_n will_v have_v much_o ado_n to_o attain_v unto_o it_o psal_n 120.6_o 7._o my_o soul_n have_v long_o dwell_v with_o he_o that_o hate_v peace_n i_o be_o for_o peace_n but_o when_o i_o speak_v they_o be_v for_o war_n it_o be_v not_o easy_o attain_v unto_o therefore_o shall_v not_o be_v suffer_v to_o depart_v but_o hold_v fast_o when_o it_o be_v enjoy_v and_o so_o for_o holiness_n the_o apostle_n will_v have_v we_o make_v a_o holy_a kind_n of_o pursuit_n after_o it_o as_o if_o it_o be_v still_o withdraw_v from_o we_o which_o come_v through_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o heart_n for_o we_o be_v soon_o weary_a of_o holy_a duty_n as_o prayer_n or_o conference_n or_o the_o like_a yet_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v we_o to_o follow_v it_o and_o pursue_v it_o and_o so_o shall_v a_o man_n be_v withdraw_v from_o the_o world_n and_o from_o the_o temptation_n and_o bad_a example_n thereof_o do_v not_o say_v what_o shall_v we_o be_v wise_a than_o our_o father_n and_o be_v not_o moderation_n best_o in_o all_o thing_n but_o consider_v what_o the_o apostle_n say_v follow_v still_o after_o it_o even_o unto_o perfection_n and_o his_o word_n do_v intimate_v the_o reason_n of_o it_o without_o which_o no_o man_n shall_v see_v the_o lord_n for_o what_o be_v holiness_n in_o its_o tell_v money_n all_o day_n long_o this_o be_v for_o myself_o say_v a_o man_n and_o for_o my_o profit_n and_o if_o it_o be_v for_o another_o we_o shall_v not_o think_v the_o time_n long_o it_o may_v be_v at_o that_o work_n neither_o but_o mind_n you_o when_o it_o come_v to_o any_o thing_n which_o do_v concern_v the_o lord_n then_o it_o be_v so_o far_o above_o a_o man_n reach_n

enough_o that_o he_o shall_v shed_v abroad_o these_o thing_n into_o our_o heart_n can_v the_o lord_n carry_v a_o end_n the_o work_n of_o our_o salvation_n by_o these_o gift_n there_o be_v need_n that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v dwell_v in_o we_o answ_n notwithstanding_o 1._o to_o keep_v these_o gift_n in_o we_o 2._o to_o act_v they_o in_o we_o 3._o to_o witness_v these_o unto_o our_o how_o shall_v we_o keep_v it_o not_o by_o our_o own_o wit_n and_o wisdom_n careful_a watchfulness_n and_o faithfulness_n though_o such_o thing_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v want_v but_o the_o charge_n be_v keep_v those_o thing_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o dwell_v in_o we_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o gift_n to_o be_v fit_a instrument_n in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o maintain_v that_o which_o god_n give_v we_o and_o though_o adam_n gift_n be_v in_o perfection_n yet_o not_o have_v the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o keep_v they_o for_o he_o they_o all_o fly_v from_o he_o as_o soon_o as_o ever_o he_o have_v taste_v of_o the_o forbid_a fruit_n and_o leave_v he_o naked_a and_o desperate_a therefore_o in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n the_o lord_n give_v the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o keep_v strong_a possession_n in_o his_o servant_n against_o the_o strong_a man_n arm_v this_o be_v the_o first_o ground_n why_o the_o holy_a ghost_n dwell_v in_o we_o 2._o it_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n that_o act_v the_o gift_n give_v to_o we_o and_o enable_v they_o in_o we_o for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o keep_v possession_n do_v derive_v continue_v strength_n into_o our_o faith_n which_o put_v life_n into_o all_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o if_o you_o shall_v ask_v how_o love_n and_o patience_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n do_v work_v the_o holy_a ghost_n stir_v up_o faith_n to_o look_v unto_o christ_n who_o return_v strength_n by_o his_o spirit_n unto_o faith_n and_o so_o faith_n work_v by_o love_n and_o by_o meekness_n and_o by_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n thus_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n act_v according_a to_o what_o we_o read_v rom._n 8.14_o as_o many_o as_o be_v 3._o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n do_v not_o only_o keep_v these_o gift_n for_o we_o and_o act_v they_o in_o we_o but_o it_o be_v the_o same_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o witness_v to_o these_o gift_n and_o show_v what_o gift_n he_o have_v give_v we_o for_o such_o be_v the_o blindness_n of_o the_o nature_n of_o all_o the_o son_n of_o man_n and_o it_o be_v a_o wonder_n to_o see_v that_o general_o christians_o when_o the_o lord_n first_o work_v these_o gift_n in_o they_o not_o one_o of_o a_o thousand_o but_o they_o think_v they_o be_v in_o a_o sad_a and_o fearful_a condition_n and_o so_o they_o be_v very_o uncomfortable_a but_o now_o leave_v that_o we_o shall_v always_o mistake_v that_o which_o the_o lord_n have_v give_v we_o we_o have_v receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o we_o may_v know_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v free_o give_v unto_o we_o of_o god_n 1_o cor._n 2.12_o he_o indeed_o take_v his_o own_o time_n to_o discover_v it_o to_o some_o soon_o to_o some_o late_a but_o this_o be_v his_o intendment_n that_o he_o may_v honour_v his_o grace_n unto_o we_o by_o all_o the_o rich_a and_o gracious_a gift_n which_o he_o have_v give_v we_o he_o do_v also_o reveal_v unto_o we_o the_o be_v many_o year_n ago_o true_o we_o attend_v upon_o ordinance_n but_o it_o be_v only_o upon_o the_o outward_a act_n of_o they_o and_o not_o upon_o jesus_n christ_n in_o they_o this_o be_v many_o time_n want_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n people_n but_o true_o if_o this_o be_v our_o constant_a frame_n and_o we_o do_v not_o recover_v ourselves_o then_o be_v not_o our_o sanctification_n that_o which_o flow_v from_o fellowship_n with_o jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o grace_n for_o you_o shall_v ever_o find_v this_o to_o be_v true_a that_o there_o be_v no_o gift_n of_o jesus_n christ_n nor_o sanctification_n accompany_v salvation_n but_o it_o do_v knit_v we_o near_o and_o near_o unto_o christ_n for_o the_o more_o we_o be_v fill_v with_o true_a spiritual_a gift_n more_o your_o gift_n be_v if_o you_o sit_v loose_a from_o christ_n the_o empty_a your_o heart_n be_v of_o he_o but_o you_o will_v say_v may_v not_o a_o christian_a be_v sometime_o full_a of_o himself_o and_o depend_v upon_o the_o strength_n of_o his_o own_o gift_n yes_o brethren_n god_n forbid_v i_o shall_v deny_v that_o for_o the_o best_a christian_n have_v go_v astray_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o best_a gift_n and_o hereupon_o abraham_n have_v be_v want_v in_o faith_n and_o moses_n in_o meekness_n and_o peter_n in_o courage_n and_o sarah_n in_o her_o modesty_n they_o have_v be_v so_o apt_a to_o trust_v upon_o those_o grace_n of_o god_n wherein_o they_o have_v most_o abound_v that_o they_o have_v principal_o fail_v therein_o but_o this_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o if_o they_o have_v be_v overtake_v once_o or_o twice_o as_o the_o burn_a child_n dread_v the_o fire_n so_o they_o grow_v to_o be_v more_o sensible_a of_o their_o need_n of_o jesus_n christ_n more_o fearful_a of_o depart_v from_o he_o more_o careful_a to_o cleave_v unto_o he_o that_o they_o may_v grow_v up_o in_o his_o name_n to_o all_o well_o please_v in_o his_o sight_n if_o therefore_o there_o his_o own_o strength_n at_o length_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n by_o the_o mighty_a power_n of_o his_o grace_n be_v shed_v abroad_o into_o the_o soul_n do_v burn_v up_o root_n and_o branch_n not_o only_o the_o root_n of_o abraham_n covenant_n but_o all_o the_o fatness_n of_o the_o root_n of_o the_o wild_a olive_n by_o which_o we_o be_v fat_a and_o lively_a to_o spiritual_a work_n in_o our_o apprehension_n so_o that_o we_o work_v in_o our_o own_o strength_n until_o the_o lord_n come_v and_o cut_v we_o quite_o down_o and_o make_v we_o to_o see_v that_o there_o be_v not_o in_o we_o the_o least_o good_a thought_n as_o of_o ourselves_o and_o therefore_o unless_o the_o lord_n be_v wonderful_o gracious_a to_o we_o we_o can_v be_v save_v till_o it_o come_v unto_o this_o the_o soul_n be_v not_o fit_a for_o jesus_n christ_n thus_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n may_v work_v powerful_o in_o the_o heart_n man_n and_o burn_v up_o their_o root_n and_o branch_n and_o this_o a_o spirit_n of_o burn_a may_v do_v and_o yet_o leave_v the_o soul_n in_o a_o damnable_a condition_n for_o aught_o i_o know_v and_o such_o as_o many_o a_o soul_n may_v be_v in_o and_o yet_o never_o come_v to_o enjoy_v save_v fellowship_n with_o jesus_n christ_n therefore_o as_o this_o be_v one_o arm_n of_o god_n stretch_v forth_o for_o the_o salvation_n of_o his_o people_n when_o he_o draw_v they_o home_o to_o jesus_n christ_n so_o 2._o second_o there_o be_v a_o further_a work_n of_o god_n when_o he_o give_v the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n which_o reach_v beyond_o all_o the_o former_a work_n he_o have_v cut_v we_o off_o from_o ourselves_o and_o now_o we_o stand_v in_o a_o state_n quite_o contrary_a to_o nature_n and_o if_o any_o saving-work_n be_v wrought_v in_o we_o it_o be_v quite_o contrary_a to_o nature_n if_o any_o thing_n fall_v upon_o the_o heart_n and_o soul_n of_o a_o man_n to_o bring_v his_o will_n to_o this_o pass_n to_o lie_v down_o at_o god_n foot_n that_o he_o know_v not_o what_o to_o do_v and_o yet_o whatsoever_o the_o lord_n call_v he_o unto_o he_o be_v willing_a if_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o be_v do_v he_o will_v run_v through_o fire_n and_o water_n to_o do_v it_o but_o he_o find_v himself_o unable_a to_o do_v any_o thing_n and_o now_o he_o will_v tell_v you_o that_o to_o believe_v be_v as_o impossible_a for_o he_o as_o to_o build_v a_o world_n why_o then_o bid_v he_o wait_v wait_v say_v he_o i_o but_o i_o can_v wait_v and_o if_o i_o seek_v the_o lord_n i_o can_v find_v he_o and_o i_o see_v other_o of_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n wrought_v upon_o gracious_o but_o dead_a heart_a i_o nothing_o will_v work_v upon_o i_o now_o in_o such_o a_o case_n as_o this_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n come_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o christian_a and_o take_v which_o be_v expound_v to_o be_v the_o hear_n and_o learn_v of_o the_o father_n of_o which_o john_n speak_v chap._n 6.45_o he_o that_o have_v hear_v and_o learn_v of_o the_o father_n come_v unto_o i_o which_o be_v when_o the_o lord_n have_v draw_v the_o soul_n out_o of_o his_o natural_a corruption_n legal_a reformation_n pretence_n of_o faith_n and_o wait_v upon_o christ_n in_o his_o own_o strength_n for_o faith_n if_o it_o be_v want_v then_o when_o the_o soul_n do_v lie_v at_o his_o foot_n to_o dispose_v of_o according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o be_v in_o some_o measure_n subject_n unto_o the_o lord_n though_o not_o so_o much_o as_o he_o can_v be_v desirous_a he_o be_v and_o therefore_o now_o the_o soul_n do_v not_o content_a and_o bless_v himself_o in_o his_o faith_n not_o any_o other_o gift_n or_o work_n of_o his_o own_o but_o yield_v himself_o humble_o unto_o the_o lord_n to_o work_v in_o he_o both_o will_n and_o deed_n of_o his_o own_o good_a pleasure_n and_o to_o teach_v he_o how_o to_o seek_v and_o wait_v and_o believe_v and_o long_o after_o jesus_n christ_n these_o thing_n he_o wait_v for_o otherwise_o until_o he_o be_v thus_o teach_v of_o god_n the_o soul_n will_v always_o think_v that_o he_o can_v do_v something_o and_o be_v not_o able_a to_o come_v out_o of_o himself_o to_o a_o utter_a denial_n of_o himself_o but_o if_o any_o man_n will_v come_v unto_o christ_n he_o must_v deny_v himself_o even_o all_o his_o own_o gift_n and_o part_n and_o good_a work_n whatsoever_o for_o a_o man_n be_v never_o utter_o deny_v until_o there_o be_v nothing_o leave_v of_o which_o a_o man_n can_v say_v this_o i_o be_o able_a to_o do_v or_o this_o be_v a_o excellent_a thing_n in_o i_o and_o when_o it_o come_v unto_o this_o pass_n then_o will_v the_o soul_n lie_v down_o at_o the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o acknowledge_v that_o if_o the_o lord_n will_v never_o show_v he_o mercy_n just_a and_o righteous_a be_v his_o judgement_n now_o when_o the_o soul_n and_o will_n of_o a_o christian_a be_v convince_v of_o these_o thing_n as_o well_o as_o his_o judgement_n that_o now_o he_o wait_v upon_o christ_n as_o well_o that_o he_o may_v be_v able_a to_o wait_v and_o seek_v the_o lord_n as_o he_o do_v for_o any_o other_o good_a thing_n from_o the_o lord_n he_o wait_v now_o upon_o the_o lord_n for_o a_o poor_a spirit_n and_o can_v perk_v up_o himself_o as_o a_o bruise_a reed_n can_v do_v thus_o when_o it_o come_v unto_o saving-work_n the_o will_n and_o soul_n of_o a_o man_n be_v so_o cast_v down_o that_o a_o man_n can_v tell_v what_o to_o make_v of_o himself_o but_o there_o he_o lie_v to_o see_v what_o the_o lord_n will_v do_v with_o he_o whether_o he_o will_v reach_v forth_o the_o hand_n of_o salvation_n unto_o he_o in_o this_o case_n the_o soul_n
work_n of_o some_o enemy_n to_o deceive_v he_o though_o he_o all_o this_o while_n see_v his_o need_n of_o christ_n and_o have_v none_o in_o heaven_n but_o he_o none_o in_o earth_n in_o comparison_n of_o he_o of_o the_o want_n of_o who_o he_o be_v sensible_a yet_o the_o soul_n know_v not_o whether_o all_o this_o humiliation_n which_o be_v wrought_v in_o he_o come_v from_o the_o wrath_n or_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o whether_o god_n have_v not_o in_o all_o this_o give_v he_o only_o a_o taste_n of_o the_o very_a torment_n of_o hell_n and_o the_o pledge_n of_o they_o to_o his_o everlasting_a perdition_n thus_o may_v the_o poor_a soul_n be_v afraid_a notwithstanding_o all_o this_o gracious_a work_n wrought_v in_o he_o above_o all_o the_o power_n of_o the_o creature_n though_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o say_v much_o of_o it_o unto_o he_o yet_o he_o have_v do_v it_o and_o happy_a we_o that_o ever_o the_o lord_n have_v own_v we_o so_o far_o now_o here_o be_v the_o special_a work_n of_o the_o son_n he_o do_v bring_v we_o back_o again_o to_o the_o father_n and_z reveals_z what_o the_o father_n have_v do_v unto_o we_o even_o his_o rich_a grace_n that_o have_v take_v all_o this_o pain_n with_o we_o for_o as_o no_o man_n know_v the_o son_n but_o the_o father_n so_o neither_o do_v any_o man_n know_v the_o father_n but_o the_o son_n and_o be_v to_o who_o the_o son_n will_v reveal_v he_o mat._n 11.27_o so_o that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n do_v enlighten_v the_o soul_n by_o the_o anoint_v of_o his_o bless_a spirit_n to_o see_v what_o it_o be_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v for_o he_o in_o mercy_n which_o heretofore_o he_o think_v be_v do_v in_o wrath_n whence_o the_o soul_n begin_v to_o see_v the_o father_n love_n even_o the_o goodness_n of_o a_o god_n in_o what_o have_v pass_v upon_o he_o far_o beyond_o what_o he_o can_v have_v ask_v or_o think_v for_o and_o therefore_o now_o begin_v with_o some_o more_o hope_n and_o liberty_n to_o call_v god_n father_n for_o from_o this_o work_n of_o the_o son_n there_o do_v arise_v the_o two_o character_n of_o a_o son_n in_o the_o soul_n both_o which_o be_v comprise_v in_o this_o one_o that_o be_v liberty_n and_o there_o be_v a_o double_a liberty_n wherein_o a_o son_n do_v stand_v 1._o first_o he_o have_v ease_n from_o all_o his_o doubtful_a fear_n or_o at_o least_o from_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o burden_n of_o they_o some_o refocilation_n some_o kind_n of_o quietness_n fall_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o weary_a sinner_n whence_o the_o heart_n be_v ease_v beyond_o his_o thought_n although_o as_o yet_o his_o comfort_n stand_v rather_o in_o expectation_n then_o in_o actual_a fruition_n as_o our_o saviour_n say_v come_v unto_o i_o all_o you_o that_o be_v weary_a and_o heavy_a lade_v and_o i_o will_v give_v you_o rest_n mat._n 11.28.29_o he_o do_v not_o promise_v sudden_a rest_n he_o will_v give_v you_o present_a ease_n but_o learn_v of_o i_o for_o i_o be_o meek_a and_o lowly_a and_o you_o shall_v find_v rest_n unto_o your_o soul_n the_o lord_n will_v give_v rest_n unto_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n at_o the_o present_a he_o give_v they_o ease_v and_o a_o expectation_n of_o much_o more_o plentiful_a fruition_n of_o rest_n and_o peace_n which_o they_o have_v begin_v to_o taste_v of_o and_o how_o do_v the_o lord_n ease_v the_o soul_n in_o such_o a_o case_n so_o as_o that_o they_o feel_v the_o burden_n a_o great_a deal_n light_a how_o do_v the_o son_n quiet_a and_o still_o and_o refresh_v the_o soul_n be_v it_o by_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o own_o hunger_a and_o thirst_v after_o righteousness_n what_o say_v the_o lord_n in_o such_o a_o case_n or_o how_o do_v he_o satisfy_v the_o soul_n he_o tell_v we_o plain_o where_o our_o satisfaction_n be_v joh._n 7.37_o 38_o 39_o if_o any_o man_n thirst_n let_v he_o come_v unto_o i_o and_o drink_n so_o that_o if_o a_o man_n thirst_n how_o shall_v he_o satisfy_v himself_o in_o his_o thirst_v this_o be_v the_o main_a question_n in_o many_o a_o soul_n may_v i_o not_o draw_v consolation_n out_o of_o this_o that_o i_o do_v thirst_n after_o the_o lord_n jesus_n you_o shall_v find_v that_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o bid_v i_o go_v satisfy_v myself_o by_o see_v my_o thirst_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v say_v i_o be_o exceed_o thirsty_a and_o i_o shall_v tell_v he_o that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n of_o a_o healthful_a constitution_n because_o a_o man_n in_o a_o frenzy_n be_v thirsty_a and_o know_v it_o not_o this_o will_v not_o satisfy_v his_o thirst_n how_o therefore_o come_v the_o soul_n to_o be_v free_v of_o his_o burden_n he_o thirst_v after_o christ_n and_o none_o of_o all_o the_o creature_n can_v quench_v his_o thirst_n therefore_o our_o saviour_n proclaim_v this_o in_o the_o last_o and_o great_a day_n of_o the_o feast_n when_o most_o of_o the_o jew_n be_v present_a for_o this_o feast_n last_v eight_o day_n if_o any_o man_n be_v now_o athirst_a and_o not_o satisfy_v with_o all_o the_o ordinance_n they_o have_v now_o enjoy_v he_o do_v not_o send_v they_o back_o again_o nor_o do_v he_o bid_v they_o satisfy_v themselves_o with_o their_o own_o thirsting_n neither_o do_v he_o tell_v they_o that_o their_o blessedness_n lie_v in_o that_o they_o do_v thirst_n though_o there_o be_v a_o blessedness_n in_o it_o but_o how_o then_o shall_v they_o be_v satisfy_v let_v he_o come_v to_o i_o and_o drink_v so_o that_o this_o be_v the_o christian_a liberty_n which_o the_o lord_n bring_v we_o unto_o when_o he_o work_v in_o we_o unquenchable_a desire_n after_o christ_n if_o you_o will_v comfort_v a_o soul_n and_o tell_v he_o you_o do_v thirst_n after_o christ_n &_o that_o you_o can_v not_o have_v do_v if_o christ_n have_v not_o wrought_v it_o in_o your_o soul_n you_o say_v true_a and_o there_o may_v be_v more_o in_o such_o a_o soul_n than_o he_o be_v aware_a of_o yet_o christ_n be_v not_o wont_a to_o leave_v the_o soul_n to_o quench_v his_o thirst_n with_o his_o thirst_n but_o you_o will_v say_v be_v not_o hunger_a and_o thirst_v a_o sign_n of_o health_n for_o a_o surfeit_a body_n do_v not_o hunger_n true_a yet_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o direct_v the_o soul_n to_o content_v himself_o with_o his_o own_o act_n but_o come_v unto_o i_o but_o will_v the_o lord_n jesus_n give_v he_o drink_v he_o promise_v that_o he_o will_v let_v he_o come_v to_o i_o and_o drink_v and_o he_o say_v moreover_o he_o that_o believe_v on_o i_o out_o of_o his_o belly_n shall_v flow_v river_n of_o water_n of_o life_n this_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o spirit_n which_o they_o that_o believe_v on_o he_o shall_v receive_v liberty_n of_o hope_n that_o the_o lord_n will_v at_o the_o length_n be_v please_v to_o fill_v he_o with_o his_o bless_a spirit_n which_o the_o lord_n do_v more_o abundant_o pour_v out_o upon_o the_o disciple_n after_o his_o resurrection_n and_o there_o be_v yet_o a_o more_o abundant_a fulfil_n of_o all_o when_o he_o do_v come_v unto_o the_o proper_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o therefore_o he_o distinguish_v his_o own_o work_n from_o the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n joh._n 14.16_o 17_o 18._o and_o 16.7_o 13._o he_o say_v of_o himself_o that_o he_o will_v not_o leave_v they_o comfortless_o but_o he_o put_v this_o difference_n between_o his_o own_o work_n and_o the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n joh._n 16.25_o hitherto_o i_o have_v speak_v unto_o you_o in_o parable_n but_o reprobate_n can_v have_v as_o make_v he_o thirst_v after_o more_o and_o more_o of_o christ_n until_o he_o be_v satisfy_v with_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n 3._o three_o when_o the_o pipe_n yet_o one_o blast_n of_o the_o bellows_n put_v breath_n into_o they_o all_o so_o that_o all_o of_o they_o at_o once_o break_v forth_o into_o a_o kind_n of_o melody_n and_o give_v a_o pleasant_a sound_n to_o the_o ear_n of_o those_o that_o stand_v by_o all_o of_o they_o do_v make_v but_o one_o instrument_n and_o one_o sound_n and_o yet_o variety_n of_o music_n so_o be_v this_o very_a case_n look_v at_o all_o the_o live_a member_n of_o christ_n they_o be_v all_o compact_a together_o and_o set_v into_o one_o stock_n and_o root_n by_o which_o mean_v it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o though_o they_o be_v many_o thousand_o yet_o they_o all_o make_v a_o melodious_a harmony_n in_o the_o ear_n of_o the_o lord_n of_o host_n therefore_o for_o the_o combine_a of_o we_o into_o the_o unity_n of_o that_o i_o be_v find_v in_o adam_n so_o there_o be_v no_o more_o require_v to_o my_o justification_n but_o that_o i_o shall_v have_v union_n with_o the_o second_o adam_n second_o reas_n 2_o as_o the_o
