in_o who_o these_o part_n be_v want_v as_o in_o those_o which_o be_v so_o little_a that_o we_o can_v scarce_o discern_v they_o and_o in_o which_o most_o likely_a it_o be_v the_o spirit_n and_o the_o nerve_n alone_o perform_v these_o action_n without_o the_o use_n of_o other_o organ_n there_o be_v a_o thousand_o other_o example_n in_o nature_n which_o clear_o manifest_v this_o truth_n but_o be_v there_o none_o the_o school_n teach_v we_o that_o spiritual_a substance_n carry_v themselves_o from_o one_o place_n to_o another_o that_o they_o may_v occupy_v more_o or_o less_o room_n that_o they_o drive_v and_o draw_v body_n that_o in_o sine_z they_o perform_v almost_o all_o the_o motion_n which_o we_o observe_v in_o animate_v body_n although_o the_o manner_n and_o the_o mean_n be_v quite_o the_o body_n which_o touch_v the_o sense_n and_o be_v visible_a to_o our_o eye_n indeed_o all_o our_o philosophy_n must_v confess_v that_o it_o touch_v but_o the_o extremity_n of_o motion_n and_o that_o it_o almost_o never_o speak_v of_o what_o pass_v between_o both_o and_o we_o may_v say_v that_o nature_n which_o so_o free_o give_v all_o thing_n seem_v to_o be_v jealous_a of_o the_o art_n wherewith_o she_o do_v they_o and_o be_v unwilling_a we_o shall_v see_v the_o spring_n of_o her_o work_n however_o it_o be_v i_o believe_v more_o can_v be_v assure_v in_o this_o matter_n then_o that_o exciting_a itself_o it_o agitate_v &_o corroborate_v itself_o and_o be_v agitate_a with_o a_o equal_a and_o uniform_a motion_n which_o hold_v it_o so_o suspend_v without_o advance_v or_o recess_n it_o remain_v stiff_a &_o steadfast_a to_o oppose_v the_o difficulty_n which_o may_v present_v themselves_o but_o without_o engage_v ourselves_o further_o in_o this_o enquiry_n which_o exceed_v the_o limit_n of_o our_o design_n it_o will_v be_v sufficient_a to_o take_v away_o a_o difficulty_n which_o spring_v from_o what_o we_o have_v already_o say_v for_o if_o this_o motion_n of_o the_o diminish_v when_o hope_n increase_v certain_o they_o destroy_v one_o the_o other_o when_o they_o meet_v forasmuch_o as_o the_o soul_n in_o desire_n consider_v the_o good_a but_o as_o absent_a and_o take_v no_o other_o care_n but_o to_o draw_v near_o unto_o it_o but_o in_o hope_n she_o fancy_v it_o so_o near_o not_o see_v any_o difficulty_n which_o it_o can_v overcome_v that_o she_o almost_o the_o universal_a instrument_n to_o all_o the_o function_n of_o life_n be_v diversify_v according_a to_o those_o operation_n necessary_a thereunto_o it_o must_v for_o some_o be_v moist_a or_o dry_a for_o other_o great_a little_a or_o temperate_a and_o every_o one_o have_v its_o portion_n and_o measure_n different_a from_o all_o the_o rest_n we_o then_o confess_v that_o the_o concupiscible_a and_o irascible_a appetite_n both_o employ_v heat_n and_o spirit_n and_o that_o there_o must_v be_v firmness_n in_o the_o motion_n of_o either_o of_o they_o but_o there_o be_v this_o difference_n that_o the_o one_o require_v a_o sweet_a heat_n moist_a and_o pleasant_a and_o that_o the_o other_o will_v have_v one_o that_o be_v lively_a dry_a and_o pungent_a for_o the_o reason_n we_o shall_v to_o the_o organ_n for_o this_o appetite_n only_o can_v establish_v itself_o and_o when_o the_o soul_n suffer_v this_o kind_n of_o motion_n it_o even_a form_n some_o passion_n of_o the_o irascible_a appetite_n indeed_o this_o establishment_n of_o the_o soul_n seem_v to_o be_v the_o proper_a agitation_n of_o the_o irascible_a appetite_n because_o there_o be_v no_o motion_n more_o efficacious_a to_o resist_v and_o assault_v then_o that_o which_o reunite_v the_o virtue_n which_o hinder_v it_o to_o yield_v and_o which_o render_v the_o assault_n the_o more_o strong_a she_o also_o make_v use_n of_o it_o in_o all_o generous_a passion_n and_o if_o she_o cast_v herself_o into_o boldness_n and_o into_o anger_n it_o be_v certain_a she_o first_o settle_v herself_o and_o the_o only_a difference_n heat_n of_o the_o heart_n where_o we_o also_o have_v place_v courage_n it_o must_v follow_v that_o force_n and_o courage_n be_v the_o same_o thing_n what_o ever_o be_v say_v that_o a_o man_n have_v courage_n but_o want_v force_n and_o that_o force_v and_o courage_n must_v be_v join_v for_o the_o execution_n of_o great_a design_n we_o therefore_o say_v that_o heat_n alone_o may_v make_v courage_n all_o entire_a but_o that_o it_o make_v but_o a_o part_n of_o force_n beside_o courage_n be_v the_o power_n itself_o and_o force_n be_v to_o be_v consider_v as_o the_o instrument_n of_o this_o power_n for_o heat_n be_v not_o courage_n but_o it_o produce_v in_o the_o faculty_n this_o disposition_n and_o capacity_n of_o operate_a which_o we_o call_v courage_n instead_o whereof_o we_o may_v say_v
