any_o that_o show_v less_o christianity_n civility_n or_o good_a education_n and_o whereas_o t._n v._o be_v neither_o so_o honest_a nor_o yet_o so_o ingenious_a as_o to_o acknowledge_v his_o what_o must_v the_o old_a worldly_a lust_n still_o remain_v unextirpate_v in_o this_o life_n in_o christ_n where_o then_o be_v the_o newness_n of_o life_n altogether_o or_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o its_o teach_n to_o deny_v those_o thing_n obey_v and_o how_o then_o be_v such_o as_o be_v in_o christ_n new_a creature_n or_o how_o have_v they_o that_o be_v he_o crucify_v the_o flesh_n with_o own_o and_o his_o brethren_n work_n elsewhere_o in_o their_o plead_n for_o imperfect_a obedience_n and_o their_o imagine_a imputation_n of_o righteousness_n and_o justification_n to_o the_o unrighteous_a and_o unjust_a for_o those_o operation_n which_o have_v a_o relation_n to_o a_o immediate_a dependence_n upon_o god_n which_o he_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n do_v experience_n and_o bring_v forth_o do_v accord_n with_o the_o mind_n and_o will_n of_o god_n which_o be_v the_o sanctification_n of_o those_o that_o believe_v and_o with_o that_o most_o holy_a faith_n which_o purify_v the_o heart_n and_o these_o be_v not_o imperfect_a nor_o to_o be_v slight_v as_o undeserving_a according_a to_o the_o vain_a notion_n of_o priest_n concern_v faith_n its_o work_n and_o inherent_a righteousness_n as_o they_o term_v it_o pag._n 47._o t._n d_o their_o dependency_n upon_o christ_n in_o all_o the_o good_a they_o do_v be_v as_o near_o and_o intimate_v as_o the_o branch_n upon_o teach_v revelation_n and_o divine_a inspiration_n to_o be_v attainable_a in_o those_o day_n but_o see_v without_o or_o apart_o or_o separate_v from_o christ_n man_n can_v do_v nothing_o how_o then_o can_v they_o be_v any_o thing_n without_o he_o as_o righteous_a or_o acceptable_a or_o justify_v for_o man_n must_v be_v something_o in_o that_o relation_n before_o they_o can_v do_v any_o thing_n acceptable_a and_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n and_o power_n of_o christ_n which_o sanctify_v and_o make_v just_a and_o bring_v into_o the_o true_a obedience_n work_n and_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n and_o to_o live_v by_o faith_n as_o the_o just_a do_v pag._n 48._o but_o faith_n as_o a_o work_n be_v not_o oppose_v to_o nor_o exclude_v itself_o as_o t._n d._n say_v because_o in_o one_o sense_n wherein_o they_o fall_v short_a of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o true_a and_o live_a faith_n and_o of_o the_o perfect_a obedience_n or_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n now_o see_v he_o confess_v pag._n 49._o to_o a_o righteousness_n bestow_v upon_o man_n by_o faith_n i_o ask_v if_o that_o man_n be_v not_o a_o partaker_n and_o enjoyer_n of_o that_o righteousness_n by_o faith_n sure_o faith_n and_o its_o righteousness_n be_v not_o separate_v nor_o divide_v also_o he_o confess_v faith_n in_o god_n through_o the_o messiah_n be_v call_v a_o walk_v humble_o with_o god_n micah_n 6.8_o but_o his_o tell_n of_o a_o sinner_n be_v justify_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n where_o do_v the_o scripture_n say_v so_o he_o quote_v rome_n 3.23_o to_o prove_v it_o but_o it_o do_v not_o but_o sanctification_n and_o that_o the_o same_o christ_n jesus_n that_o justify_v by_o his_o blood_n sanctify_v by_o his_o spirit_n as_o be_v confess_v from_o calvin_n etc._n etc._n in_o loc._n 2._o than_o righteousness_n obedience_n and_o subjection_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n and_o the_o pure_a law_n of_o it_o see_v that_o make_v free_a from_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n but_o then_o he_o waver_v again_o to_o the_o understanding_n of_o some_o who_o suppose_v the_o end_n of_o christ_n come_v into_o the_o world_n be_v that_o god_n righteous_a law_n may_v not_o be_v absolute_o contemn_v but_o may_v be_v observe_v though_o imperfect_o by_o believer_n other_o say_v he_o of_o the_o imputation_n of_o christ_n surety_n righteousness_n etc._n etc._n this_o imperfect_a observation_n of_o god_n righteous_a law_n be_v that_o he_o will_v fain_o centre_n in_o and_o which_o indeed_o the_o tenor_n of_o most_o of_o his_o discourse_n amount_v to_o though_o it_o be_v not_o bear_v no_o resemblance_n of_o t.u._n no_o person_n be_v the_o subject_n of_o gospel_n justification_n but_o as_o ungodly_a that_o be_v as_o have_v sin_v contrad_n t._n v._o where_o he_o remove_v the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n he_o also_o remove_v the_o filth_n of_o sin_n justification_n and_o sanctification_n be_v unseparable_a companion_n justification_n be_v never_o without_o sanctification_n obs._n see_v the_o apparent_a contradiction_n here_o in_o this_o latter_a to_o the_o former_a for_o here_o note_v then_o that_o no_o person_n be_v the_o subject_n of_o gospel_n justification_n as_o ungodly_a or_o as_o in_o their_o sin_n but_o as_o be_v sanctify_v and_o the_o filth_n of_o sin_n remove_v so_o than_o justify_v not_o in_o sin_n but_o in_o the_o truth_n and_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n they_o be_v wash_v cleanse_v and_o sanctify_v and_o only_o such_o be_v they_o that_o be_v justify_v in_o the_o name_n
