people_n and_o thus_o we_o can_v know_v he_o out_o of_o christ_n and_o so_o by_o consequence_n unless_o we_o know_v christ_n too_o the_o old_a and_o the_o first_o frame_n and_o fabric_n of_o salvation_n be_v overthrow_v and_o over-turned_n by_o the_o fall_n and_o if_o we_o mean_v to_o build_v it_o up_o again_o we_o must_v begin_v upon_o another_o ground_n a_o new_a foundation_n god_n be_v apostle_n teach_v of_o which_o foundation_n jesus_n christ_n himself_o although_o he_o be_v not_o all_o yet_o he_o be_v the_o chief_a cornerstone_n the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n be_v the_o chief_a point_n in_o adam_n foundation_n the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o chief_a point_n in_o our_o foundation_n christ_n be_v not_o there_o at_o all_o as_o mediator_n but_o here_o he_o be_v in_o the_o first_o and_o chief_a place_n there_o be_v other_o corner-stone_n that_o rest_v upon_o he_o but_o he_o and_o he_o alone_o be_v the_o chief_a cornerstone_n on_o which_o all_o the_o rest_n be_v know_v he_o on_o such_o term_n as_o these_o be_v christ_n be_v the_o only_a mediator_n between_v god_n and_o man_n he_o come_v down_o into_o the_o world_n to_o take_v up_o all_o the_o breach_n and_o the_o difference_n between_v his_o father_n and_o his_o people_n and_o to_o make_v peace_n by_o the_o blood_n of_o his_o cross_n and_o how_o shall_v christ_n make_v peace_n for_o we_o unless_o we_o know_v he_o unless_o we_o be_v acquaint_v with_o he_o unless_o we_o put_v our_o matter_n into_o his_o hand_n so_o that_o if_o we_o know_v christ_n we_o may_v know_v god_n as_o a_o friend_n in_o and_o by_o and_o through_o christ_n we_o may_v look_v upon_o he_o then_o as_o reconcile_v to_o we_o as_o pacify_v and_o appease_v towards_o we_o but_o if_o we_o know_v not_o christ_n at_o all_o we_o can_v know_v god_n otherwise_o then_o as_o a_o enemy_n and_o as_o a_o judge_n and_o a_o avenger_n and_o whether_o such_o a_o knowledge_n of_o he_o can_v be_v life_n eternal_a judge_v you_o three_o knowledge_n of_o god_n be_v not_o enough_o to_o life_n eternal_a unless_o reason_n 3_o we_o know_v christ_n too_o because_o unless_o we_o know_v christ_n and_o know_v he_o in_o and_o through_o that_o dispensation_n there_o be_v by_o virtue_n of_o the_o intimate_a association_n of_o the_o manhood_n with_o the_o godhead_n a_o give_v out_o or_o a_o communication_n of_o all_o the_o glory_n little_a more_o particular_o and_o distinct_o to_o you_o belove_a you_o must_v know_v that_o the_o manhood_n of_o our_o saviour_n come_v not_o by_o nature_n to_o partake_v of_o this_o glory_n look_v upon_o the_o humane_a nature_n as_o consider_v in_o itself_o and_o so_o it_o have_v no_o right_a to_o it_o it_o be_v by_o grace_n then_o that_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o godhead_n be_v communicate_v the_o godhead_n by_o the_o grace_n of_o union_n it_o come_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o it_o by_o its_o unutterable_o near_a and_o intimate_v association_n with_o the_o godhead_n in_o the_o same_o person_n for_o so_o the_o god_n head_n and_o the_o manhood_n as_o you_o know_v be_v join_v together_o in_o such_o a_o tie_n as_o can_v full_o be_v express_v not_o as_o a_o man_n and_o a_o wife_n be_v join_v together_o who_o notwithstanding_o their_o conjunction_n continue_v two_o distinct_a person_n but_o as_o the_o body_n and_o the_o soul_n make_v one_o man_n so_o god_n and_o man_n make_v one_o christ_n and_o as_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o soul_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o nearness_n of_o the_o union_n redound_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o person_n and_o consequent_o of_o the_o body_n too_o even_o so_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o godhead_n redound_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o manhood_n in_o the_o person_n of_o our_o saviour_n so_o infinite_o near_o be_v the_o conjunction_n that_o both_o the_o nature_n can_v choose_v but_o share_v together_o and_o as_o the_o godhead_n be_v in_o some_o respect_n abase_v in_o be_v join_v to_o the_o manhood_n be_v eclipse_v and_o shadow_v with_o the_o meanness_n and_o the_o imperfection_n of_o it_o even_o so_o the_o manhood_n on_o the_o other_o side_n be_v honour_v and_o advance_v in_o be_v join_v to_o the_o godhead_n and_o consequent_o shine_v with_o the_o glory_n of_o it_o second_o the_o manhood_n of_o our_o saviour_n participate_v of_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o godhead_n by_o the_o grace_n of_o dispensation_n from_o the_o father_n he_o have_v make_v it_o to_o partake_v of_o that_o glory_n and_o therefore_o he_o have_v raise_v it_o up_o and_o set_v it_o at_o his_o own_o right_a hand_n he_o have_v high_o exalt_v it_o he_o have_v and_o deny_v the_o holy_a one_o though_o you_o abuse_v he_o and_o abase_v he_o yet_o god_n have_v glorify_v he_o it_o be_v by_o he_o and_o his_o mean_n that_o he_o be_v raise_v to_o such_o glory_n use_v 1_o now_o be_v it_o so_o that_o even_o the_o manhood_n of_o our_o saviour_n participate_v of_o the_o glory_n whereof_o the_o godhead_n have_v be_v etc._n etc._n here_o then_o we_o may_v take_v notice_n of_o the_o high_a advancement_n of_o our_o nature_n in_o the_o person_n of_o our_o saviour_n the_o very_a glory_n of_o the_o godhead_n be_v in_o a_o sense_n communicate_v to_o it_o our_o nature_n share_v with_o the_o godhead_n in_o such_o incomparable_a and_o transcendent_a glory_n as_o can_v by_o no_o mean_n be_v express_v it_o be_v many_o way_n advance_v and_o set_v up_o in_o jesus_n christ_n but_o this_o my_o brethren_n be_v the_o height_n and_o top_n of_o all_o that_o in_o he_o dwell_v the_o fullness_n of_o the_o godhead_n bodily_a as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v col._n 2.9_o not_o that_o the_o godhead_n be_v confine_v or_o circumscribe_v within_o the_o narrow_a limit_n of_o our_o saviour_n flesh_n or_o that_o his_o body_n be_v co-extended_n with_o the_o godhead_n as_o ubiquitary_n dream_v but_o the_o godhead_n dwell_v in_o christ_n as_o bernard_n speak_v not_o umbratiuè_n by_o external_a sign_n and_o shadow_n and_o token_n of_o his_o presence_n as_o once_o christ_n dwell_v in_o the_o material_a temple_n not_o effectiuè_a by_o the_o effect_n and_o operation_n of_o its_o grace_n as_o now_o it_o dwell_v in_o the_o body_n of_o the_o saint_n who_o in_o the_o
of_o this_o chapter_n this_o shall_v suffice_v for_o clear_v of_o the_o observation_n that_o unbeliever_n and_o unsanctified_a person_n know_v not_o god_n at_o least_o they_o know_v he_o not_o in_o such_o a_o manner_n and_o with_o such_o a_o kind_n of_o knowledge_n as_o they_o ought_v to_o do_v in_o that_o they_o know_v he_o not_o with_o a_o affective_a knowledge_n they_o know_v he_o not_o with_o a_o effective_a knowledge_n and_o they_o know_v he_o not_o in_o christ_n but_o what_o may_v be_v the_o cause_n why_o the_o unbelieving_a world_n be_v so_o ignorant_a reason_n 1_o of_o god_n i_o shall_v lay_v they_o open_a to_o you_o both_o with_o relation_n to_o the_o unbelieve_a world_n heathen_a and_o with_o relation_n to_o the_o unbelieve_a world_n christian_n christian_n i_o mean_v in_o name_n though_o not_o in_o truth_n first_o for_o the_o unbelieve_a world_n heathen_a it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o they_o know_v not_o god_n for_o they_o have_v no_o mean_n to_o know_v he_o in_o such_o a_o manner_n as_o be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n it_o be_v true_a that_o even_o they_o have_v mean_n to_o know_v he_o in_o a_o common_a way_n as_o the_o apostle_n show_v and_o prove_v rom._n 1.19_o 20._o that_o which_o may_v be_v know_v conceive_v it_o natural_o know_v of_o god_n be_v manifest_a to_o they_o that_o be_v the_o heathen_a for_o god_n have_v show_v it_o even_o to_o they_o there_o be_v a_o image_n and_o resemblance_n of_o he_o stamp_v upon_o the_o creature_n there_o be_v apparent_a character_n and_o footstep_n and_o impression_n of_o the_o godhead_n of_o his_o power_n and_o wisdom_n set_v upon_o every_o thing_n which_o he_o have_v make_v which_o may_v be_v look_v upon_o by_o every_o eye_n how_o do_v his_o glory_n shine_v my_o brethren_n in_o the_o rare_a and_o admirable_a structure_n of_o the_o world_n the_o glorious_a frame_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o david_n say_v the_o heaven_n declare_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n etc._n etc._n psal_n 19.1_o indeed_o he_o tell_v we_o afterward_o the_o law_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v perfect_a the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o that_o alone_a be_v a_o complete_a and_o perfect_a help_n to_o bring_v we_o to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n but_o yet_o there_o be_v some_o declaration_n of_o he_o in_o the_o creature_n the_o heaven_n declare_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o this_o mean_v the_o heathen_n have_v the_o creature_n catechise_v they_o and_o instruct_v they_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o a_o god_n as_o job_n show_v chap._n 12.7_o ask_v now_o the_o beast_n and_o they_o shall_v teach_v thou_o the_o fowl_n and_o they_o shall_v tell_v thou_o speak_v to_o the_o earth_n and_o it_o shall_v teach_v thou_o and_o fish_n of_o the_o sea_n shall_v declare_v to_o thou_o who_o know_v not_o in_o all_o these_o that_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n have_v wrought_v this_o and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o even_o they_o the_o heathen_a know_v god_n rom._n 1.21_o but_o now_o they_o have_v no_o mean_n to_o know_v he_o save_o in_o christ_n and_o this_o be_v life_n eternal_a to_o know_v thou_o the_o only_a true_a god_n and_o jesus_n christ_n who_o thou_o have_v send_v this_o knowledge_n be_v not_o write_v in_o the_o creature_n book_n and_o they_o have_v not_o the_o scripture_n book_n and_o how_o then_o shall_v they_o come_v to_o it_o it_o be_v true_a that_o god_n be_v write_v in_o the_o creature_n book_n but_o not_o a_o word_n of_o christ_n there_o god_n be_v write_v in_o the_o heart_n book_n but_o not_o a_o word_n of_o christ_n there_o neither_o the_o law_n be_v write_v in_o the_o heart_n by_o nature_n but_o there_o be_v no_o impression_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n col._n 3.16_o and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o all_o the_o nation_n of_o the_o world_n have_v grope_v after_o god_n and_o find_v he_o too_o as_o act_n 17.27_o let_v a_o man_n run_v from_o east_n to_o west_n let_v he_o ransake_n all_o nation_n and_o where_o he_o find_v any_o man_n there_o he_o shall_v find_v some_o notice_n of_o god_n but_o now_o my_o brethren_n among_o which_o of_o all_o these_o nation_n who_o never_o have_v the_o book_n of_o scripture_n shall_v you_o find_v any_o notice_n of_o a_o christ_n any_o inkling_n of_o a_o saviour_n or_o redeemer_n no_o christ_n be_v not_o so_o much_o as_o name_v among_o they_o they_o have_v no_o glimpse_n no_o crevice_n to_o give_v they_o any_o light_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n so_o that_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n though_o the_o unbelieve_a world_n pagan_a know_v he_o not_o in_o this_o manner_n for_o they_o have_v no_o mean_n to_o know_v he_o reason_n 2_o but_o now_o the_o unbelieving_a world_n christian_n have_v the_o mean_n of_o this_o knowledge_n and_o why_o then_o do_v not_o they_o know_v god_n true_a they_o have_v the_o outward_a mean_n but_o they_o want_v the_o inward_a mean_n they_o have_v the_o outward_a revelation_n of_o the_o word_n but_o they_o have_v not_o the_o inward_a revelation_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o without_o this_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o any_o man_n to_o know_v god_n and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n pray_v for_o the_o ephesian_n that_o god_n will_v give_v they_o the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n and_o revelation_n in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o he_o chap._n 1.17_o by_o which_o he_o intimate_v that_o without_o spirit-revelation_n they_o can_v never_o come_v to_o know_v he_o now_o this_o spirit-revelation_n or_o unveiling_n consist_v in_o the_o removal_n of_o a_o double_a veil_n the_o veil_n that_o lie_v upon_o the_o faculty_n and_o the_o veil_n that_o lie_v upon_o the_o object_n 1._o in_o the_o spirit-revelation_n which_o be_v the_o only_a mean_n of_o know_v god_n there_o must_v be_v the_o removal_n of_o the_o veil_n that_o lie_v upon_o the_o faculty_n the_o understanding_n the_o sense_n must_v be_v unveil_v you_o know_v or_o else_o we_o can_v see_v a_o object_n though_o it_o be_v before_o we_o for_o what_o can_v a_o blindfolded_a person_n see_v and_o so_o it_o be_v in_o this_o case_n for_o every_o unbelieve_a person_n be_v blindfolded_a as_o it_o be_v the_o god_n of_o this_o world_n have_v blind_v his_o eye_n the_o veil_n be_v on_o their_o heart_n that_o be_v their_o understanding_n 2_o cor._n 3_o 15._o and_o this_o veil_n the_o holy_a ghost_n must_v take_v away_o as_o in_o the_o cite_a place_n or_o else_o though_o god_n have_v the_o father_n show_v he_o our_o saviour_n bid_v he_o to_o behold_v himself_o and_o add_v present_o he_o that_o have_v see_v i_o have_v see_v the_o father_n also_o joh._n 14.9_o this_o be_v the_o vision_n mention_v in_o the_o book_n of_o job_n i_o know_v that_o my_o redeemer_n etc._n etc._n yet_o in_o my_o flesh_n i_o shall_v see_v god_n not_o in_o my_o spirit_n or_o my_o understanding_n only_o but_o my_o flesh_n yea_o and_o i_o shall_v look_v on_o he_o not_o with_o other_o but_o with_o these_o same_o eye_n which_o can_v be_v no_o other_o way_n but_o in_o the_o glorify_a body_n of_o christ_n 2._o second_o christ_n have_v make_v a_o discovery_n of_o his_o father_n by_o his_o word_n and_o by_o his_o gospel_n there_o he_o have_v show_v he_o forth_o to_o man_n so_o far_o as_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o he_o shall_v be_v know_v by_o they_o and_o this_o be_v partly_o intimate_v in_o that_o speech_n of_o he_o to_o philip_n joh._n 14.9_o 10._o how_o say_v thou_o show_v we_o the_o father_n believe_v thou_o not_o that_o i_o be_o in_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n in_o i_o the_o word_n that_o i_o speak_v unto_o you_o i_o speak_v not_o of_o myself_o say_v christ_n my_o manner_n be_v not_o to_o be_v speak_v to_o you_o of_o myself_o so_o much_o as_o of_o my_o father_n nor_o to_o advance_v myself_o so_o much_o as_o to_o set_v up_o my_o father_n upon_o all_o occasion_n come_v to_o his_o knowledge_n for_o the_o instruction_n and_o the_o information_n of_o his_o people_n indeed_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n the_o gospel_n contain_v in_o it_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v necessary_a to_o be_v know_v of_o god_n the_o father_n whether_o his_o nature_n or_o his_o will_n or_o his_o son_n or_o his_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o it_o be_v able_a of_o itself_o without_o addition_n to_o make_v we_o wise_a unto_o salvation_n 2_o tim._n 3.15_o this_o be_v a_o perfect_a and_o a_o full_a discovery_n so_o that_o we_o need_v no_o other_o knowledge_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o bring_v we_o to_o salvation_n then_o that_o which_o be_v reveal_v to_o we_o in_o the_o scripture_n 3._o three_o christ_n make_v a_o full_a discovery_n of_o his_o father_n by_o his_o spirit_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o be_v the_o compliment_n of_o all_o in_o this_o business_n indeed_o there_o be_v a_o full_a discovery_n of_o he_o in_o the_o word_n material_o there_o be_v nothing_o want_v there_o but_o it_o be_v not_o full_a to_o we_o without_o the_o revelation_n of_o the_o spirit_n christ_n show_v his_o father_n there_o in_o all_o his_o glory_n excellency_n overflow_a love_n to_o his_o people_n but_o if_o the_o spirit_n do_v not_o cure_v the_o blindness_n of_o our_o eye_n and_o open_v they_o and_o take_v away_o the_o vail_n that_o be_v upon_o they_o we_o can_v never_o see_v he_o it_o be_v the_o comforter_n the_o holy_a ghost_n that_o teach_v all_o thing_n conceive_v it_o efficacious_o and_o with_o success_n joh._n 14.28_o who_o come_v out_o from_o the_o father_n and_o make_v know_v the_o father_n name_n to_o his_o people_n thus_o we_o have_v see_v how_o jesus_n christ_n make_v this_o discovery_n now_o let_v we_o see_v why_o jesus_n christ_n make_v this_o discovery_n of_o his_o father_n and_o here_o you_o may_v remember_v i_o propound_v two_o thing_n first_o why_o jesus_n christ_n and_o none_o but_o he_o make_v this_o discovery_n and_o second_o why_o the_o discovery_n which_o he_o make_v be_v such_o a_o absolute_a and_o full_a discovery_n 1._o first_o as_o for_o the_o first_o of_o these_o why_o jesus_n christ_n and_o none_o but_o he_o make_v this_o discovery_n there_o be_v two_o weighty_a reason_n for_o it_o for_o first_o none_o but_o he_o be_v able_a and_o next_o none_o but_o he_o be_v fit_a to_o make_v it_o 1._o first_o none_o but_o jesus_n christ_n be_v able_a to_o make_v this_o full_a discovery_n of_o his_o father_n for_o none_o but_o he_o be_v perfect_o acquaint_v with_o he_o alas_o all_o man_n be_v stranger_n to_o the_o father_n the_o worst_a man_n absolute_o and_o in_o all_o respect_n and_o the_o best_a in_o some_o measure_n and_o all_o the_o knowledge_n which_o any_o soul_n have_v of_o he_o it_o have_v from_o jesus_n christ_n too_o but_o now_o my_o brethren_n jesus_n christ_n have_v the_o full_a knowledge_n of_o his_o father_n he_o do_v not_o know_v he_o outward_o alone_a but_o he_o know_v his_o very_a heart_n and_o the_o secret_n of_o his_o bosom_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v say_v to_o lodge_v there_o and_o so_o to_o be_v the_o only_a possible_a revealer_n of_o the_o father_n to_o the_o world_n no_o man_n have_v see_v god_n at_o any_o time_n the_o only_o beget_v son_n which_o be_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o the_o father_n he_o have_v declare_v he_o joh._n 1.18_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o any_o one_o to_o make_v the_o father_n know_v unless_o he_o know_v he_o now_o this_o be_v proper_a and_o peculiar_a to_o the_o son_n no_o man_n know_v the_o father_n but_o the_o son_n that_o be_v original_o primitive_o of_o himself_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v add_v present_o and_o he_o to_o who_o the_o son_n will_v reveal_v he_o joh._n 11.27_o 2._o second_o as_o none_o but_o christ_n be_v able_a so_o none_o but_o christ_n be_v fit_a to_o manifest_v his_o father_n to_o his_o people_n he_o be_v the_o only_a mediator_n between_o god_n and_o man_n there_o be_v but_o one_o as_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o and_o that_o be_v christ_n 1_o tim._n 2.5_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v congruous_a that_o he_o shall_v manage_v and_o transact_v the_o business_n all_o the_o business_n between_o god_n and_o man_n that_o all_o shall_v go_v through_o his_o hand_n he_o be_v to_o make_v god_n friend_n with_o we_o and_o to_o make_v we_o friend_n with_o god_n the_o peace_n must_v be_v on_o both_o side_n and_o how_o shall_v he_o effect_v the_o latter_a but_o by_o reveal_v and_o make_v know_v his_o father_n to_o we_o in_o all_o his_o beauty_n and_o his_o glory_n and_o his_o excellency_n in_o himself_o in_o all_o the_o tenderness_n and_o dearness_n of_o his_o love_n to_o we_o and_o so_o to_o join_v our_o heart_n to_o he_o this_o latter_a be_v especial_o the_o name_n of_o god_n which_o christ_n be_v as_o a_o saviour_n to_o discover_v viz._n his_o attribute_n of_o love_n and_o mercy_n this_o be_v the_o proper_a work_n of_o christ_n indeed_o to_o manifest_v this_o name_n of_o god_n all_o that_o be_v sweet_a and_o lovely_a in_o he_o to_o his_o people_n this_o may_v suffice_v to_o let_v you_o know_v why_o jesus_n christ_n and_o none_o but_o he_o make_v this_o discovery_n of_o the_o father_n to_o his_o people_n we_o have_v but_o one_o thing_n yet_o behind_o why_o the_o discovery_n that_o he_o make_v be_v such_o a_o absolute_a and_o full_a discovery_n i_o give_v you_o but_o two_o reason_n of_o it_o and_o i_o have_v do_v for_o this_o time_n he_o do_v it_o
be_v know_v by_o they_o answ_n i_o mean_v as_o yet_o in_o the_o condition_n they_o be_v in_o at_o that_o time_n all_o thing_n which_o he_o hear_v from_o god_n the_o father_n with_o this_o intent_n that_o they_o shall_v hear_v they_o and_o be_v make_v acquaint_v with_o they_o he_o have_v impart_v to_o they_o to_o the_o very_a utmost_a so_o that_o he_o have_v be_v faithful_a in_o the_o business_n there_o be_v no_o doubt_n our_o saviour_n christ_n as_o man_n have_v many_o thing_n reveal_v to_o he_o from_o his_o father_n which_o he_o instill_a not_o into_o his_o disciple_n for_o he_o be_v perfect_a in_o regard_n of_o knowledge_n and_o they_o be_v not_o so_o nor_o can_v be_v so_o in_o this_o world_n but_o whatsoever_o be_v communicate_v to_o he_o as_o the_o mediator_n and_o the_o prophet_n of_o the_o church_n in_o that_o behalf_n and_o for_o the_o information_n and_o behoof_n of_o his_o people_n all_o this_o he_o manifest_v and_o make_v know_v to_o they_o again_o as_o far_o as_o the_o estate_n which_o they_o be_v in_o will_v bear_v it_o and_o their_o condition_n do_v require_v it_o and_o this_o he_o clear_o intimate_v in_o the_o fore-alleadged_n place_n i_o have_v yet_o many_o thing_n to_o say_v to_o you_o but_o you_o can_v bear_v they_o now_o and_o to_o what_o end_n shall_v christ_n say_v that_o which_o he_o know_v they_o can_v not_o yet_o bear_v why_o shall_v he_o lay_v a_o burden_n on_o they_o which_o be_v too_o heavy_a for_o their_o shoulder_n but_o if_o he_o have_v say_v all_o before_o how_o have_v he_o many_o thing_n to_o say_v yet_o he_o have_v say_v all_o that_o be_v to_o be_v say_v before_o all_o that_o his_o father_n have_v appoint_v he_o to_o say_v and_o he_o have_v many_o thing_n to_o say_v that_o be_v not_o to_o be_v say_v yet_o because_o they_o be_v not_o suitable_a to_o the_o condition_n they_o be_v in_o at_o that_o time_n but_o do_v our_o saviour_n say_v they_o afterward_o or_o if_o he_o have_v many_o thing_n to_o say_v and_o do_v not_o say_v they_o how_o be_v he_o such_o a_o faithful_a messenger_n as_o i_o have_v show_v from_o his_o father_n to_o his_o people_n for_o clear_v this_o we_o must_v distinguish_v of_o our_o saviour_n saying_n something_o he_o be_v to_o say_v to_o his_o apostle_n and_o disciple_n with_o his_o own_o immediate_a voice_n while_o he_o be_v conversant_a upon_o the_o earth_n other_o thing_n he_o be_v to_o say_v by_o his_o spirit_n afterward_o and_o he_o be_v very_o faithful_a both_o way_n 1._o what_o thing_n he_o be_v to_o say_v to_o his_o apostle_n and_o disciple_n with_o his_o own_o immediate_a voice_n he_o say_v all_o those_o thing_n he_o keep_v nothing_o back_o from_o they_o he_o teach_v they_o lesson_n after_o lesson_n still_o as_o they_o can_v learn_v and_o so_o he_o carry_v they_o along_o as_o long_o as_o he_o remain_v among_o they_o so_o that_o he_o may_v have_v say_v at_o any_o time_n while_o he_o be_v with_o they_o i_o have_v make_v know_v all_o to_o you_o all_o that_o you_o be_v yet_o to_o know_v and_o whereas_o he_o affirm_v in_o the_o cite_a place_n i_o have_v yet_o many_o thing_n to_o say_v to_o you_o if_o they_o be_v such_o as_o he_o be_v himself_o to_o speak_v to_o utter_v to_o they_o with_o his_o own_o mouth_n there_o be_v no_o question_n to_o be_v make_v he_o speak_v they_o afterward_o before_o he_o leave_v they_o and_o ascend_v to_o his_o father_n and_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o after_o he_o be_v rise_v he_o converse_v with_o they_o forty_o day_n talk_v of_o mysterious_a thing_n speak_v of_o thing_n pertain_v to_o the_o kingdom_n act._n 1.7_o the_o kingdom_n which_o have_v be_v set_v up_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o few_o poor_a despise_v one_o before_o but_o be_v now_o to_o be_v erect_v in_o the_o church_n these_o and_o such_o thing_n as_o these_o they_o can_v not_o hear_v till_o now_o and_o therefore_o though_o our_o saviour_n have_v these_o thing_n to_o say_v yet_o he_o say_v they_o not_o till_o now_o and_o now_o he_o say_v they_o that_o he_o may_v be_v faithful_a and_o that_o he_o may_v discharge_v the_o trust_n that_o be_v repose_v in_o he_o by_o his_o father_n 2._o but_o there_o be_v other_o thing_n which_o he_o be_v not_o to_o say_v to_o his_o apostle_n and_o disciple_n by_o his_o own_o immediate_a voice_n while_o he_o be_v conversant_a among_o they_o but_o by_o his_o spirit_n afterward_o when_o he_o have_v leave_v they_o and_o these_o he_o say_v according_o by_o that_o spirit_n and_o this_o be_v chief_o aim_v at_o and_o be_v the_o main_a intention_n of_o the_o fore-alleadged_n text_n i_o have_v yet_o many_o thing_n to_o say_v to_o you_o but_o you_o can_v bear_v they_o yet_o but_o what_o then_o do_v he_o say_v they_o afterward_o yes_o he_o say_v they_o afterward_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o what_o the_o add_v nothing_o to_o his_o message_n and_o he_o have_v take_v nothing_o from_o it_o all_o the_o word_n his_o father_n give_v he_o to_o deliver_v by_o himself_o and_o by_o his_o own_o immediate_a voice_n he_o have_v deliver_v all_o that_o he_o give_v he_o to_o deliver_v by_o his_o spirit_n all_o these_o he_o have_v deliver_v too_o and_o so_o he_o have_v be_v absolute_o and_o exact_o faithful_a every_o way_n have_v christ_n approve_v himself_o a_o faithful_a prophet_n to_o the_o church_n a_o use_v 1_o faithful_a messenger_n etc._n etc._n have_v he_o not_o fail_v in_o speak_v any_o thing_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v conceal_v or_o in_o conceal_v any_o thing_n he_o shall_v have_v speak_v have_v he_o not_o speak_v so_o much_o as_o a_o word_n too_o little_a or_o a_o word_n too_o much_o this_o than_o may_v serve_v to_o teach_v we_o divers_a thing_n as_o 1._o to_o hear_v this_o prophet_n and_o diligent_o to_o observe_v and_o mark_v all_o that_o he_o speak_v to_o we_o he_o have_v no_o loose_a word_n no_o vain_a expression_n nothing_o too_o little_a or_o too_o much_o in_o that_o which_o he_o deliver_v to_o we_o and_o therefore_o it_o must_v be_v the_o better_o note_v and_o the_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n dwell_v in_o we_o rich_o let_v we_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o mark_v they_o a_o ear_n to_o hear_v they_o and_o a_o heart_n to_o keep_v they_o as_o mary_n have_v of_o who_o it_o be_v record_v that_o she_o keep_v all_o his_o say_n in_o her_o heart_n how_o careful_o do_v the_o apostle_n keep_v that_o which_o our_o saviour_n speak_v though_o it_o be_v not_o where_o mention_v in_o the_o gospel_n and_o wish_v other_o man_n to_o do_v so_o too_o act._n
grace_n consider_v with_o yourselves_o now_o jesus_n christ_n draw_v nigh_o to_o i_o he_o that_o be_v above_o in_o heaven_n and_o with_o relation_n to_o his_o bodily_a and_o fleshly_a presence_n be_v no_o more_o in_o this_o world_n be_v in_o another_o way_n come_v into_o my_o soul_n and_o therefore_o do_v not_o shut_v the_o door_n against_o he_o but_o bid_v he_o very_o welcome_a when_o he_o come_v when_o he_o offer_v more_o knowledge_n faith_n love_n hope_v patience_n let_v not_o these_o offer_n be_v refuse_v remember_v when_o you_o take_v in_o these_o you_o take_v in_o christ_n with_o they_o may_v this_o be_v do_v or_o how_o may_v we_o be_v present_a with_o our_o saviour_n in_o our_o spirit_n i_o answer_v 1._o we_o may_v be_v present_a with_o he_o in_o the_o thought_n and_o meditation_n neglect_v all_o other_o knowledge_n incomparison_n of_o this_o it_o be_v the_o dangerous_a mistake_n of_o the_o great_a part_n of_o man_n who_o have_v rather_o be_v acquaint_v with_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o world_n and_o to_o be_v skill_v in_o secular_a and_o humane_a learning_n then_o in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n how_o do_v abundance_n plod_v to_o dive_v into_o the_o secret_n and_o depth_n of_o nature_n and_o set_v their_o wit_n upon_o the_o tenterhooks_n to_o search_v into_o the_o mystery_n of_o art_n and_o trade_n how_o do_v they_o beat_v and_o work_v their_o brain_n to_o get_v abundance_n of_o experience_n and_o skill_n in_o worldly_a deal_n and_o employment_n but_o take_v no_o pain_n at_o all_o in_o hear_v read_v meditation_n to_o dive_v into_o the_o mystery_n of_o jesus_n christ_n tell_v i_o my_o belove_a have_v you_o ever_o among_o all_o your_o earnest_a strive_n after_o insight_n either_o into_o humane_a knowledge_n or_o into_o matter_n of_o the_o world_n be_v half_o so_o studious_a and_o industrious_a to_o search_v into_o this_o gospel_n truth_n to_o be_v acquaint_v with_o christ_n jesus_n who_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o know_v that_o he_o be_v bear_v and_o live_v and_o dye_v for_o you_o to_o know_v he_o and_o the_o virtue_n of_o his_o resurrection_n not_o by_o speculation_n only_o but_o experience_n raise_v you_o
