comely_a and_o outward_a gesture_n how_o far_o be_v this_o require_v in_o his_o worship_n worship_n answ._n the_o spiritual_a worship_n of_o god_n be_v never_o well_o perform_v but_o when_o it_o be_v signify_v by_o the_o comely_a gesture_n of_o the_o body_n as_o far_o as_o we_o may_v i_o say_v they_o must_v concur_v the_o body_n must_v go_v with_o the_o spirit_n though_o indeed_o he_o chief_o look_v to_o the_o spirit_n for_o they_o be_v both_o he_o 1_o cor._n 6.20_o 20._o beside_o the_o body_n do_v exceed_o help_v the_o spirit_n and_o it_o do_v testify_v when_o you_o come_v before_o other_o that_o holiness_n and_o reverence_n which_o you_o have_v of_o god_n glory_n and_o majesty_n therefore_o to_o persuade_v you_o to_o this_o you_o must_v know_v that_o when_o ever_o you_o come_v to_o worship_n god_n there_o ought_v to_o be_v a_o great_a solemnity_n in_o every_o part_n of_o his_o worship_n which_o can_v be_v without_o the_o concurrence_n of_o the_o body_n and_o spirit_n of_o man_n they_o can_v be_v disjoin_v and_o you_o shall_v see_v the_o necessity_n of_o this_o in_o these_o 3_o thing_n 1._o because_o though_o holiness_n be_v seat_v in_o the_o spirit_n yet_o it_o do_v &_o will_v appear_v in_o the_o body_n at_o the_o same_o time_n you_o know_v the_o light_n of_o the_o candle_n be_v seat_v in_o the_o candle_n yet_o it_o shine_v through_o the_o lantern_n if_o it_o be_v there_o so_o though_o holiness_n be_v seat_v in_o the_o spirit_n yet_o it_o will_v appear_v in_o the_o body_n if_o it_o be_v there_o it_o be_v so_o in_o all_o other_o thing_n and_o therefore_o must_v needs_o be_v so_o in_o this_o as_o take_v any_o affection_n that_o be_v in_o we_o as_o a_o blush_a affection_n when_o occasion_n be_v it_o will_v appear_v in_o the_o body_n whether_o we_o will_v or_o no_o so_o a_o impudent_a face_n be_v discern_v and_o perceive_v also_o so_o awefulnesse_n and_o fear_v and_o reverence_n they_o will_v show_v themselves_o and_o look_v out_o at_o the_o window_n of_o the_o eye_n and_o appear_v in_o the_o face_n except_o we_o willing_o suppress_v they_o now_o if_o these_o will_v do_v so_o sure_o it_o hold_v in_o this_o also_o if_o there_o be_v a_o reverence_n of_o the_o mind_n it_o will_v be_v see_v in_o the_o behaviour_n of_o the_o body_n therefore_o you_o see_v eliah_n when_o he_o pray_v earnest_o the_o disposition_n of_o the_o body_n go_v with_o it_o he_o put_v his_o face_n down_o between_o his_o leg_n so_o jesus_n christ_n when_o he_o pray_v for_o lazarus_n he_o groan_v in_o his_o spirit_n and_o weep_v now_o if_o he_o do_v so_o who_o may_v be_v exempt_v if_o any_o might_n then_o do_v not_o thou_o think_v that_o thou_o can_v have_v a_o holy_a reverend_a disposition_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o it_o not_o appear_v in_o the_o body_n it_o can_v be_v therefore_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o this_o be_v call_v the_o heart_n every_o where_o because_o the_o affection_n be_v seat_v there_o and_o now_o the_o body_n be_v according_o affect_v as_o the_o heart_n be_v affect_v for_o what_o affection_n a_o man_n have_v such_o be_v his_o heart_n 2._o consider_v this_o if_o thou_o find_v thyself_o apt_a to_o a_o careless_a negligent_a behaviour_n and_o carriage_n of_o the_o body_n when_o thou_o come_v to_o god_n and_o pretend_v this_o that_o he_o be_v a_o spirit_n and_o must_v be_v worship_v in_o spirit_n i_o say_v consider_v whether_o this_o be_v not_o a_o excuse_n that_o thy_o flesh_n make_v to_o this_o end_n that_o it_o may_v be_v lazy_a and_o have_v some_o ease_n to_o itself_o from_o a_o false_a acception_n of_o that_o principle_n god_n be_v a_o spirit_n that_o so_o it_o may_v give_v way_n to_o a_o outward_a laziness_n of_o the_o body_n therefore_o look_v narrow_o to_o it_o thou_o shall_v stir_v up_o the_o outward_a man_n that_o thou_o thereby_o may_v stir_v up_o the_o inward_a man_n when_o thou_o come_v before_o god_n in_o any_o worship_n 3._o consider_v that_o to_o make_v any_o thing_n a_o ordinance_n there_o
