and_o pray_v like_a as_o the_o word_n sincere_o preach_v and_o the_o sacrament_n administer_v according_a to_o our_o saviour_n institution_n be_v the_o most_o infallible_a mark_n of_o the_o true_a visible_a church_n of_o christ_n among_o which_o he_o have_v promise_v his_o presence_n so_o long_o as_o these_o be_v due_o observe_v maintain_v and_o reverence_v so_o we_o may_v mark_v also_o through_o the_o book_n of_o god_n four_o most_o lively_a evidence_n of_o his_o glorious_a presence_n in_o his_o church_n among_o his_o people_n one_o whereof_o be_v more_o inward_a feel_v chief_o in_o the_o soul_n and_o conscience_n of_o man_n principal_o to_o wit_n the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n accompany_v the_o word_n and_o the_o powerful_a operation_n thereof_o in_o man_n heart_n god_n in_o and_o by_o the_o same_o word_n to_o cause_v all_o man_n to_o acknowledge_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v there_o the_o other_o three_o be_v more_o outward_a and_o apparent_a to_o the_o view_n of_o the_o world_n outward_a although_o they_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o fruit_n and_o effect_n of_o the_o same_o spirit_n the_o first_o of_o which_o three_o knowledge_n be_v when_o the_o lord_n give_v to_o his_o people_n abundance_n of_o save_v and_o sanctify_a knowledge_n of_o his_o heavenly_a word_n the_o second_o when_o together_o with_o this_o knowledge_n he_o work_v in_o they_o true_a holiness_n of_o life_n and_o conversation_n and_o obedience_n to_o the_o same_o word_n and_o withal_o peace_n and_o unity_n among_o his_o people_n arise_v from_o the_o same_o unity_n the_o three_o be_v in_o protection_n when_o he_o declare_v himself_o to_o be_v present_a among_o his_o people_n protection_n in_o shield_v and_o protect_v they_o and_o overthrow_v all_o the_o plot_n of_o the_o enemy_n or_o cast_v a_o fear_n upon_o the_o enemy_n that_o they_o dare_v not_o rise_v up_o against_o his_o church_n and_o choose_a flock_n for_o the_o first_o of_o these_o which_o be_v more_o inward_a covenant_n viz_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n speak_v and_o work_v powerful_o in_o the_o word_n it_o be_v not_o the_o word_n alone_o nor_o the_o spirit_n alone_o but_o the_o word_n and_o spirit_n go_v together_o the_o spirit_n accompany_v the_o word_n and_o speak_v to_o the_o heart_n and_o conscience_n of_o man_n out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o servant_n this_o be_v the_o tenor_n and_o the_o very_a substance_n of_o god_n covenant_n with_o his_o church_n for_o the_o infallible_a demonstration_n of_o his_o presence_n in_o it_o and_o with_o it_o and_o i_o will_v make_v this_o my_o covenant_n security_n may_v such_o a_o people_n have_v for_o the_o certainty_n of_o the_o lord_n presence_n continue_v among_o they_o every_o man_n may_v discern_v and_o know_v it_o hereby_o but_o contrary_o approach_v this_o be_v as_o evident_a a_o sign_n of_o god_n departure_n from_o a_o people_n and_o of_o some_o heavy_a judgement_n haste_v upon_o they_o when_o either_o the_o preach_n shall_v become_v general_o cold_a and_o fruitless_a except_o in_o some_o small_a remnant_n 11._o which_o evermore_o the_o lord_n do_v reserve_v in_o his_o church_n or_o though_o it_o be_v powerful_o preach_v by_o some_o few_o it_o yet_o man_n shall_v become_v general_o more_o obstinate_a blind_a hard-hearted_a and_o without_o feeling_n give_v up_o to_o follow_v their_o lust_n with_o greediness_n when_o by_o it_o they_o shall_v have_v their_o heart_n as_o hard_o as_o the_o nether_a millstone_n or_o the_o smith_n stithie_o that_o the_o often_o they_o be_v smite_v the_o hard_a they_o be_v and_o further_a also_o this_o be_v so_o palpable_a that_o it_o may_v be_v feel_v when_o man_n shall_v come_v to_o this_o height_n of_o profaneness_n that_o hear_v the_o most_o excellent_a prophet_n of_o god_n they_o shall_v hear_v they_o only_o as_o those_o who_o have_v pleasant_a voice_n do_v listen_v to_o their_o word_n but_o not_o do_v any_o thing_n in_o effect_n which_o they_o teach_v as_o the_o people_n hear_v the_o prophet_n ezechiel_n 32._o thus_o it_o go_v with_o they_o very_o general_o before_o this_o captivity_n captivity_n according_a as_o the_o lord_n have_v bid_v the_o prophet_n isaiah_n to_o in_o some_o very_o few_o place_n and_o those_o for_o most_o part_n where_o former_o it_o have_v not_o be_v as_o in_o some_o rude_a country_n towards_o the_o northern_a part_n whither_o it_o be_v daily_o observe_v to_o remove_v as_o ready_a to_o take_v the_o farewell_n when_o it_o have_v gather_v forth_o god_n choose_v of_o they_o and_o convince_v the_o rest_n and_o whether_o satan_n antichrist_n and_o this_o evil_a world_n with_o the_o pleasure_n and_o pomp_n of_o it_o do_v not_o draw_v man_n wonderful_o from_o jesus_n christ_n to_o follow_v after_o they_o whether_o multitude_n rush_v not_o violent_o to_o all_o licentious_a profaneness_n in_o steed_n of_o the_o zealous_a profession_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n other_o to_o popery_n and_o superstition_n again_o which_o be_v so_o far_o root_v out_o of_o our_o land_n and_o by_o the_o most_o abhor_a and_o this_o after_o the_o time_n that_o god_n have_v more_o discover_v the_o abomination_n of_o that_o bloody_a religion_n than_o ever_o heretofore_o let_v we_o but_o call_v to_o mind_n heretofore_o how_o it_o have_v be_v former_o with_o we_o in_o those_o place_n where_o god_n be_v wont_a to_o speak_v unto_o we_o by_o his_o messenger_n and_o how_o it_o be_v now_o for_o most_o part_n whether_o in_o many_o place_n where_o the_o ark_n of_o god_n still_o remain_v i_o mean_v the_o word_n and_o sacrament_n whether_o i_o say_v the_o glorious_a and_o lively_a voice_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o pierce_v of_o our_o heart_n that_o burn_v in_o our_o soul_n with_o those_o unspeakable_a comfort_n which_o we_o be_v wont_a to_o find_v therein_o be_v not_o decay_v exceed_o whether_o it_o be_v not_o with_o all_o who_o be_v fall_v to_o fashion_n themselves_o to_o the_o extreme_a licentiousness_n and_o can_v befall_v any_o of_o they_o they_o be_v but_o in_o a_o lethargy_n or_o sleepy_a sickness_n without_o sense_n until_o the_o vengeance_n of_o god_n light_n whole_o upon_o they_o to_o send_v they_o to_o the_o place_n of_o their_o destruction_n where_o they_o shall_v never_o find_v any_o rest_n after_o but_o for_o their_o wretched_a estate_n we_o shall_v see_v it_o further_o in_o another_o
