or_o virtue_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o true_a believer_n and_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o doctrine_n
of_o faith_n to_o be_v preach_v or_o profess_v his_o argument_n shall_v be_v also_o false_a and_o as_o false_a be_v this_o way_n of_o reason_v that_o because_o the_o baptism_n be_v one_o therefore_o that_o one_o baptism_n be_v only_o the_o inward_a of_o the_o spirit_n exclude_v the_o outward_a baptism_n of_o water_n or_o as_o to_o say_v therefore_o it_o be_v only_o the_o outward_a baptism_n of_o argument_n against_o the_o outward_a supper_n practise_v with_o bread_n and_o wine_n in_o commemoration_n of_o our_o lord_n death_n because_o of_o the_o scripture_n word_n one_o bread_n 1_o cor._n 10.17_o for_o in_o that_o same_o verse_n paul_n tell_v of_o one_o bread_n in_o a_o very_a different_a signification_n even_o as_o far_o as_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o christ_n we_o say_v he_o be_v many_o be_v one_o bread_n but_o do_v it_o therefore_o follow_v that_o there_o be_v no_o other_o bread_n than_o the_o church_n nay_o for_o they_o be_v all_o partaker_n of_o that_o one_o bread_n which_o be_v christ_n and_o there_o be_v a_o three_o bread_n that_o he_o mention_n in_o the_o same_o chapter_n which_o be_v neither_o the_o one_o nor_o the_o other_o one_o bread_n and_o that_o be_v the_o outward_a bread_n that_o they_o do_v eat_v v_o 16._o the_o bread_n which_o we_o break_v be_v it_o not_o the_o communion_n of_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n even_o as_o christ_n say_v will_v become_v so_o foolish_a and_o unwise_a as_o so_o to_o imagine_v therefore_o to_o caution_n against_o any_o such_o folly_n he_o have_v say_v i_o speak_v as_o to_o wise_a man_n judge_v you_o what_o i_o say_v but_o whereas_o many_o of_o the_o people_n call_v quaker_n by_o bread_n in_o that_o part_n of_o the_o verse_n the_o bread_n which_o we_o break_v be_v it_o not_o the_o communion_n of_o and_o the_o communion_n of_o that_o body_n be_v another_o and_o it_o be_v as_o little_a sense_n to_o understand_v it_o thus_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v a_o figure_n of_o the_o communion_n of_o his_o body_n therefore_o the_o true_a sense_n of_o the_o word_n be_v the_o outward_a bread_n which_o we_o break_v be_v a_o figure_n or_o sign_n of_o the_o communion_n of_o the_o lord_n body_n but_o these_o man_n be_v under_o another_o great_a mistake_n as_o if_o by_o the_o lord_n body_n here_o be_v not_o mean_v his_o outward_a body_n that_o be_v crucify_a and_o raise_v again_o but_o the_o life_n which_o be_v the_o light_n in_o they_o and_o in_o every_o man_n whether_o believer_n or_o unbeliever_n but_o of_o this_o great_a error_n i_o shall_v have_v occasion_n hereafter_o to_o take_v notice_n only_o at_o present_a let_v it_o be_v remember_v that_o by_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n in_o these_o abovementioned_a word_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v outward_o crucify_a die_v and_o rise_v again_o and_o be_v a_o live_a glorious_a body_n which_o be_v the_o body_n of_o the_o second_o adam_n the_o quicken_a spirit_n of_o the_o virtue_n of_o which_o all_o true_a believer_n partake_v and_o by_o their_o have_v the_o communion_n of_o his_o body_n whether_o when_o eat_v the_o outward_a bread_n so_o that_o they_o eat_v with_o true_a faith_n or_o when_o they_o do_v not_o eat_v yet_o believe_v for_o the_o communion_n of_o his_o body_n be_v not_o confine_v to_o the_o outward_a eat_v they_o have_v the_o communion_n of_o his_o spirit_n also_o and_o enjoy_v of_o the_o manifold_a spiritual_a blessing_n of_o grace_n life_n and_o light_n send_v and_o convey_v into_o their_o heart_n by_o and_o through_o the_o glorify_a man_n christ_n jesus_n who_o have_v a_o glorify_a body_n and_o though_o this_o communion_n of_o christ_n body_n be_v hard_o to_o be_v express_v or_o to_o be_v demonstrate_v to_o man_n reasonable_a understanding_n yet_o by_o faith_n it_o be_v certain_o feel_v and_o witness_v with_o the_o bless_a effect_n of_o it_o cause_v a_o increase_n in_o holiness_n and_o divine_a knowledge_n and_o experience_n in_o all_o true_a christ_n have_v no_o soul_n or_o spirit_n of_o man_n in_o he_o and_o therefore_o believer_n have_v no_o spirit_n or_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o they_o that_o be_v create_v rational_a spirit_n both_o which_o be_v most_o false_a and_o foolish_a consequence_n also_o when_o the_o scripture_n say_v there_o be_v one_o father_n and_o one_o be_v your_o father_n it_o will_v be_v a_o very_a false_a consequence_n to_o infer_v that_o therefore_o we_o have_v never_o have_v any_o outward_a or_o visible_a father_n and_o as_o false_a a_o consequence_n it_o be_v from_o one_o invisible_a baptism_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o argue_v against_o any_o outward_a and_o visible_a baptism_n or_o from_o the_o outward_a visible_a baptism_n be_v one_o in_o its_o kind_n to_o argue_v against_o the_o invisible_a and_o inward_a baptism_n which_o be_v one_o in_o its_o kind_n also_o this_o be_v a_o error_n call_v by_o logician_n a_o transition_n from_o one_o kind_n to_o another_o as_o because_o there_o be_v one_o kind_a of_o animal_n on_o earth_n call_v a_o dog_n therefore_o there_o be_v not_o any_o thing_n else_o so_o call_v whereas_o there_o be_v a_o fish_n that_o have_v the_o same_o name_n as_o also_o a_o star_n in_o heaven_n sect_n vi_o but_o whereas_o w._n penn_n in_o his_o above_o mention_a argument_n say_v first_o we_o know_v and_o they_o confess_v that_o they_o be_v in_o the_o beginning_n use_v as_o figure_n and_o shadow_n of_o a_o more_o hide_a spiritual_a substance_n ans_fw-fr in_o this_o

in_o that_o baptism_n which_o the_o apostle_n use_v after_o christ_n resurrection_n and_o ascension_n be_v prenunciative_a and_o not_o commemorative_n for_o on_o the_o contrary_a it_o be_v not_o simple_o prenunciative_a but_o commemorative_n as_o commemorate_n and_o signify_v the_o blood_n of_o christ_n that_o have_v be_v shed_v outward_o for_o the_o remission_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o same_o commemoration_n and_o signification_n have_v the_o wine_n in_o the_o practice_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n and_o the_o bread_n that_o be_v break_v in_o the_o supper_n signify_v after_o christ_n death_n and_o resurrection_n his_o body_n that_o be_v outward_o break_v on_o the_o cross_n and_o that_o outward_a practice_n be_v institute_v by_o christ_n for_o a_o memorial_n of_o his_o death_n and_o suffering_n which_o all_o true_a believer_n in_o christ_n ought_v to_o have_v fresh_a and_o lively_a in_o their_o mind_n to_o which_o the_o outward_a practice_n both_o of_o baptism_n and_o the_o supper_n be_v of_o great_a use_n and_o the_o more_o frequent_a the_o practice_n of_o the_o supper_n be_v be_v due_o use_v as_o with_o faith_n reverence_n and_o devotion_n the_o more_o profitable_a it_o be_v therefore_o say_v christ_n as_o oft_o as_o you_o eat_v this_o bread_n etc._n etc._n as_o if_o one_o do_v say_v as_o oft_o as_o you_o pray_v with_o true_a faith_n and_o fervency_n it_o turn_v commandment_n and_o doctrine_n of_o man_n as_o not_o only_o the_o jewish_a rite_n but_o gentile_a custom_n and_o tradition_n also_o be_v touch_v meat_n and_o drink_n and_o other_o thing_n which_o have_v thereby_o tend_v to_o excite_v our_o ardent_a love_n and_o affection_n to_o he_o and_o to_o raise_v they_o up_o to_o ascend_v to_o he_o in_o heaven_n therefore_o though_o true_a believer_n at_o christ_n command_n use_v the_o outward_a thing_n yet_o neither_o their_o mind_n nor_o affection_n be_v set_v on_o they_o but_o on_o he_o and_o the_o heavenly_a blessing_n they_o have_v by_o he_o
