let_v he_o i_o say_v remember_v these_o together_o with_o those_o many_o other_o mean_n god_n have_v use_v towards_o he_o for_o the_o same_o end_n and_o he_o will_v have_v reason_n to_o confess_v god_n kindness_n not_o only_o to_o man_n soul_n in_o general_a but_o to_o his_o own_o in_o particular_a 31._o neither_o have_v he_o be_v want_v to_o our_o body_n all_o the_o good_a thing_n they_o enjoy_v as_o health_n strength_n food_n raiment_n and_o whatever_o else_o concern_v they_o be_v mere_o his_o gift_n so_o that_o indeed_o it_o be_v impossible_a we_o shall_v be_v ignorant_a of_o his_o mercy_n to_o they_o all_o those_o outward_a comfort_n and_o refreshmet_n we_o daily_o enjoy_v be_v continual_a effect_n and_o witness_n of_o it_o and_o though_o some_o enjoy_v more_o of_o these_o than_o other_o yet_o there_o be_v no_o person_n but_o enjoy_v so_o much_o in_o one_o kind_n or_o other_o as_o abundant_o show_v god_n mercy_n and_o kindness_n to_o he_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o body_n 32._o and_o now_o sure_o you_o will_v think_v it_o but_o reasonable_a we_o shall_v love_v he_o who_o be_v in_o all_o respect_n thus_o lovely_a indeed_o this_o be_v a_o duty_n so_o general_o acknowledge_v that_o if_o you_o shall_v ask_v any_o man_n the_o question_n whether_o he_o love_v god_n or_o no_o he_o will_v think_v you_o do_v he_o great_a wrong_n to_o doubt_v of_o it_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o it_o be_v too_o plain_a that_o there_o be_v very_o few_o that_o do_v indeed_o love_v he_o and_o this_o will_v soon_o be_v prove_v to_o you_o by_o examine_v a_o little_a what_o be_v the_o common_a effect_n of_o love_n which_o we_o bear_v to_o man_n like_v ourselves_o and_o then_o try_v whether_o we_o can_v show_v any_o such_o fruit_n of_o our_o love_n to_o god_n 33._o of_o that_o sort_n there_o be_v divers_a but_o for_o shortness_n i_o will_v name_v but_o two_o please_v the_o first_o be_v a_o desire_n of_o please_v the_o second_o a_o desire_n of_o enjoy_v these_o be_v constant_o the_o fruit_n of_o love_n for_o the_o first_o it_o be_v know_v by_o all_o that_o he_o that_o love_v any_o person_n be_v very_o desirous_a to_o approve_v himself_o to_o he_o to_o do_v whatsoever_o he_o think_v will_v be_v please_v to_o he_o and_o according_a to_o the_o degree_n of_o love_n so_o be_v this_o desire_n more_o or_o less_o where_o we_o love_v earnest_o we_o be_v very_a earnest_n and_o careful_a to_o please_v now_o if_o we_o have_v indeed_o that_o love_n to_o god_n we_o pretend_v to_o it_o will_v bring_v forth_o this_o fruit_n we_o shall_v be_v careful_a to_o promise_v that_o if_o we_o resist_v the_o devil_n he_o shall_v fly_v from_o we_o jam._n 47._o therefore_o our_o duty_n be_v first_o to_o pray_v earnest_o for_o god_n grace_n to_o enable_v we_o to_o and_o in_o stead_n of_o deliver_v we_o out_o of_o our_o straits_n plunge_v we_o in_o great_a and_o those_o much_o mroe_n uncomfortable_a one_o because_o than_o we_o want_v that_o which_o be_v the_o only_a support_n god_n favour_n and_o aid_v which_o we_o certain_o forfeit_v when_o we_o thus_o seek_v to_o rescue_v ourselves_o by_o any_o sinful_a mean_n but_o suppose_v we_o can_v by_o such_o a_o way_n certain_o free_v ourselves_o from_o the_o present_a danger_n yet_o alas_o we_o be_v far_o from_o have_v gain_v safety_n by_o it_o we_o have_v only_o remove_v the_o danger_n from_o that_o which_o be_v less_o considerable_a and_o bring_v it_o upon_o the_o most_o precious_a part_n of_o we_o our_o soul_n like_o a_o unskilful_a physician_n that_o to_o remove_v a_o pain_n from_o the_o finger_n strike_v it_o to_o the_o heart_n we_o be_v therefore_o gross_o mistake_v when_o we_o think_v we_o have_v play_v the_o good_a husband_n in_o save_v our_o liberty_n or_o estate_n or_o live_v themselves_o by_o a_o sin_n we_o have_v not_o save_v they_o but_o mad_o over-bought_a they_o lay_v out_o our_o very_a soul_n on_o they_o and_o christ_n tell_v we_o how_o little_o we_o shall_v gain_v by_o such_o bargain_n mat._n 17._o 26._o what_o be_v a_o man_n profit_v if_o he_o shall_v gain_v the_o whole_a world_n and_o lose_v his_o own_o soul._n let_v we_o therefore_o resolve_v never_o to_o value_v any_o thing_n we_o can_v possess_v in_o this_o world_n at_o so_o high_a a_o rate_n as_o to_o keep_v it_o at_o the_o price_n of_o the_o least_o sin_n but_o when_o ever_o thing_n be_v drive_v to_o such_o a_o issue_n that_o we_o must_v either_o part_v with_o some_o perhaps_o all_o our_o worldly_a possession_n nay_o life_n itself_o or_o else_o commit_v a_o sin_n let_v we_o then_o remember_v that_o this_o be_v the_o season_n for_o we_o to_o perform_v that_o great_a and_o excellent_a duty_n of_o take_v up_o the_o cross_n which_o we_o can_v never_o so_o proper_o do_v as_o in_o this_o case_n for_o our_o bear_n of_o that_o which_o we_o have_v no_o possible_a way_n of_o avoid_v can_v at_o most_o be_v say_v to_o be_v but_o the_o carry_v of_o the_o cross_n but_o then_o only_o can_v we_o be_v say_v to_o take_v it_o up_o when_o have_v a_o mean_n of_o escape_v it_o by_o a_o sin_n we_o rather_o choose_v to_o endure_v the_o cross_n then_o commit_v the_o sin_n for_o than_o it_o be_v not_o lay_v on_o we_o by_o any_o unavoidable_a necessity_n but_o we_o willing_o choose_v it_o and_o this_o be_v high_o acceptable_a with_o god_n yet_o withal_o so_o strict_o require_v by_o he_o that_o if_o we_o fail_v of_o perform_v it_o when_o we_o be_v put_v to_o the_o trial_n we_o be_v not_o to_o be_v account_v follower_n of_o christ_n for_o so_o himself_o have_v express_o tell_v we_o mat._n 16._o 24._o if_o any_o man_n come_v after_o i_o let_v he_o deny_v himself_o and_o take_v up_o his_o cross_n and_o follow_v i_o and_o so_o again_o mar._n 8._o 34._o it_o be_v therefore_o a_o good_a point_n of_o spiritual_a wisdom_n for_o we_o sometime_o by_o some_o low_a degree_n of_o self-denial_n to_o fit_v ourselves_o for_o this_o great_a when_o we_o shall_v be_v call_v to_o it_o we_o know_v he_o that_o expect_v to_o run_v a_o race_n will_v beforehand_o be_v often_o breathe_v himself_o that_o he_o may_v not_o be_v foil_v when_o he_o come_v to_o run_v for_o the_o prize_n in_o like_a manner_n it_o will_v be_v fit_a for_o we_o sometime_o to_o abridge_v ourselves_o somewhat_o of_o our_o lawful_a pleasure_n or_o ease_n or_o profit_n sothat_o we_o may_v get_v such_o a_o mastery_n over_o our_o self_n as_o to_o be_v able_a to_o renounce_v all_o when_o our_o obedience_n to_o god_n require_v it_o 53._o and_o as_o we_o be_v thus_o to_o trust_v on_o god_n for_o deliverance_n from_o danger_n spiritual_a so_o be_v we_o likewise_o for_o supply_v of_o our_o want_n and_o those_o again_o be_v either_o spiritual_a or_o temporal_a our_o spiritual_a want_n be_v that_o of_o his_o grace_n to_o enable_v we_o to_o serve_v he_o without_o which_o we_o can_v do_v nothing_o and_o for_o this_o we_o be_v to_o depend_v on_o he_o provide_v we_o neglect_v not_o the_o mean_n which_o be_v prayer_n and_o a_o careful_a use_n of_o what_o he_o have_v already_o bestow_v on_o we_o for_o than_o we_o have_v his_o promise_n for_o it_o he_o will_v give_v the_o holy_a spirit_n to_o they_o that_o ask_v it_o luke_n 11._o 15._o and_o unto_o he_o that_o have_v shall_v be_v give_v mat._n 25_o 29._o that_o be_v to_o he_o that_o have_v make_v a_o good_a use_n of_o that_o grace_n he_o have_v already_o god_n will_v give_v more_o we_o be_v not_o therefore_o to_o affright_v ourselves_o with_o the_o difficulty_n of_o those_o thing_n god_n require_v of_o we_o but_o remember_v he_o command_v nothing_o which_o he_o will_v not_o enable_v we_o to_o perform_v if_o we_o be_v not_o want_v to_o ourselves_o and_o therefore_o let_v we_o sincere_o do_v our_o part_n and_o confident_o assure_v ourselves_o god_n will_v further_a doubt_n and_o scruple_n if_o not_o into_o sin_n on_o the_o other_o side_n if_o he_o forbear_v because_o of_o it_o if_o that_o fear_n be_v a_o causeless_a one_o than_o he_o groundless_o
