be_v chief_o and_o unanimous_o upon_o our_o heart_n when_o we_o engage_v in_o that_o which_o make_v way_n for_o your_o return_n which_o we_o humble_o as_o become_v we_o lay_v before_o you_o i._o spirit_n to_o those_o interest_n that_o those_o who_o be_v or_o shall_v be_v entrust_v therein_o be_v such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v find_v to_o be_v most_o eminent_a for_o godliness_n faithfulness_n and_o constancy_n to_o the_o good_a cause_n and_o interest_n of_o these_o nation_n xi_o that_o to_o the_o end_n the_o legislative_a authority_n of_o this_o commonwealth_n may_v not_o by_o their_o long_a sit_v become_v burdensome_a or_o inconvenient_a there_o may_v be_v effectual_a provision_n make_v for_o a_o due_a succession_n thereof_o xii_o and_o for_o the_o better_a satisfaction_n and_o more_o firm_a union_n of_o the_o force_n of_o this_o commonwealth_n in_o this_o juncture_n of_o affair_n for_o preserve_v and_o maintain_v the_o principle_n and_o other_o matter_n thereunto_o subservient_fw-fr we_o do_v unanimous_o acknowledge_v and_o own_v the_o lord_n charles_n fleetwood_n lieutenant_n general_n of_o the_o army_n to_o be_v commander_n in_o chief_a of_o the_o land_n force_n of_o this_o commonwealth_n xiii_o that_o in_o order_n to_o the_o establish_n and_o secure_v the_o peace_n welfare_n and_o freedom_n of_o the_o people_n of_o these_o nation_n for_o the_o end_n before_o express_v the_o legislative_a power_n thereof_o may_v be_v in_o a_o representative_a of_o the_o people_n consist_v of_o a_o house_n successive_o choose_v by_o the_o people_n in_o such_o way_n and_o manner_n as_o this_o parliament_n shall_v judge_v meet_a and_o of_o a_o select_a senate_n coordinate_a in_o power_n of_o able_a and_o faithful_a person_n eminent_a for_o godliness_n and_o such_o as_o continue_v adhere_v to_o this_o cause_n fourteen_o that_o the_o administration_n of_o the_o executive_a power_n of_o government_n may_v be_v in_o a_o council_n of_o state_n consist_v of_o a_o convenient_a number_n of_o person_n qualify_v in_o all_o respect_n as_o aforesaid_a xv._o that_o all_o debt_n contract_v by_o his_o late_a highness_n or_o his_o father_n since_o the_o 15_o of_o december_n 1653_o may_v be_v satisfy_v and_o that_o a_o honourable_a revenue_n of_o ten_o thousand_o pound_n per_fw-la annum_fw-la with_o a_o convenient_a house_n may_v be_v settle_v upon_o he_o and_o
