we_o can_v do_v nothing_o against_o the_o truth_n and_o in_o a_o other_o place_n he_o testify_v that_o he_o have_v fight_v a_o good_a fight_n keep_v the_o faith_n and_o finish_v his_o course_n now_o if_o it_o be_v finish_v then_o there_o be_v no_o more_o to_o run_v and_o if_o the_o fight_n be_v fight_v then_o the_o enemy_n be_v no_o more_o alive_a as_o they_o be_v when_o sin_n live_v and_o dwell_v in_o he_o again_o he_o say_v in_o a_o other_o place_n we_o preach_v wisdom_n among_o they_o that_o be_v perfect_a that_o be_v after_o the_o explication_n and_o sense_n of_o these_o sin-pleader_n we_o preach_v wisdom_n among_o none_o except_o among_o those_o that_o be_v already_o depart_v out_o of_o this_o world_n and_o go_v to_o heaven_n and_o again_o as_o many_o of_o you_o as_o be_v perfect_a be_v so_o mind_v that_o be_v to_o say_v after_o their_o explication_n let_v none_o be_v thus_o mind_v before_o they_o be_v dead_a again_o at_o last_o dear_a brethren_n be_v perfect_a and_o of_o one_o mind_n etc._n etc._n but_o this_o they_o say_v can_v be_v in_o this_o life_n and_o again_o he_o say_v to_o the_o hebrew_n you_o be_v come_v to_o the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n for_o in_o the_o same_o chapter_n he_o have_v show_v before_o into_o what_o state_n they_o must_v come_v before_o they_o can_v come_v to_o have_v fellowship_n with_o god_n viz._n to_o walk_v in_o the_o light_n as_o christ_n be_v in_o the_o light_n and_o those_o that_o say_v they_o have_v fellowship_n with_o god_n and_o christ_n as_o the_o priest_n and_o professor_n do_v at_o this_o day_n and_o fellowship_n with_o god_n and_o christ_n and_o therefore_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v well_o observe_v that_o john_n speak_v there_o of_o a_o sort_n of_o man_n that_o be_v not_o yet_o bring_v to_o confess_v their_o sin_n and_o if_o such_o come_v to_o that_o conceit_n and_o pride_n as_o to_o say_v they_o have_v no_o sin_n to_o confess_v and_o so_o exalt_v themselves_o above_o the_o witness_n of_o god_n that_o reprove_v they_o then_o such_o deceive_v themselves_o but_o if_o these_o that_o be_v so_o sinful_a come_v to_o own_o that_o which_o bring_v they_o to_o a_o confession_n of_o their_o sin_n then_o god_n be_v faithful_a to_o forgive_v such_o their_o sin_n and_o to_o cleanse_v they_o from_o all_o iniquity_n now_o when_o this_o be_v do_v to_o wit_n when_o the_o creature_n have_v confess_v his_o sin_n and_o god_n have_v forgive_v it_o and_o cleanse_v he_o what_o must_v then_o that_o man_n say_v must_v he_o then_o say_v that_o he_o have_v his_o sin_n still_o when_o he_o have_v and_o to_o bear_v a_o testimony_n against_o that_o yet_o say_v john_n to_o those_o that_o be_v thus_o wash_v if_o we_o say_v that_o we_o have_v not_o sin_v we_o make_v god_n a_o liar_n it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v that_o even_o those_o that_o be_v save_v must_v confess_v to_o the_o power_n of_o god_n by_o which_o they_o have_v be_v judge_v for_o sin_n and_o not_o to_o exalt_v themselves_o above_o it_o as_o if_o they_o have_v never_o sin_v see_v that_o the_o witness_v of_o god_n testify_v in_o all_o that_o they_o have_v sin_v and_o come_v short_a of_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n so_o that_o now_o the_o understand_a reader_n may_v see_v that_o john_n have_v not_o write_v here_o of_o a_o impossibility_n of_o be_v deliver_v from_o sin_n but_o absolute_o the_o contrary_a namely_o that_o those_o that_o can_v say_v that_o they_o be_v without_o sin_n may_v come_v by_o confess_v their_o sin_n to_o be_v cleanse_v and_o make_v free_a from_o it_o yea_o from_o all_o that_o which_o be_v unrighteous_a yet_o some_o will_v say_v that_o the_o apostle_n in_o that_o place_n use_v the_o word_n we_o as_o if_o he_o include_v himself_o as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v at_o that_o time_n if_o i_o shall_v say_v that_o i_o have_v no_o sin_n etc._n etc._n answ_n this_o be_v no_o proof_n at_o all_o because_o the_o contrary_n be_v prove_v before_o to_o wit_n that_o he_o have_v 9.37_o etc._n etc._n but_o how_o zealous_a be_v these_o pleader_n for_o sin_n to_o find_v out_o word_n which_o they_o think_v do_v serve_v for_o the_o uphold_v of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o their_o stop_v their_o bar_n against_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o charmer_n that_o charm_n never_o so_o wise_o so_o the_o one_o have_v his_o proof_n from_o the_o adder_n and_o the_o other_o from_o the_o devil_n such_o scripture_n place_n as_o these_o i_o do_v confess_v that_o these_o pleader_n for_o sin_n may_v find_v to_o strengthen_v their_o argument_n but_o that_o which_o be_v write_v by_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n be_v a_o perfect_a testimony_n against_o they_o all_o against_o their_o work_n and_o against_o their_o prince_n so_o have_v answer_v their_o chief_a objection_n which_o they_o draw_v out_o of_o the_o scripture_n by_o which_o they_o endeavour_v to_o prove_v that_o none_o can_v be_v free_a from_o sin_n in_o this_o life_n contrary_a to_o rom._n 6.22_o i_o make_v haste_n to_o the_o three_o great_a argument_n of_o these_o captive_n which_o they_o lie_v down_o against_o their_o own_o freedom_n three_o that_o be_v that_o it_o be_v the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o let_v some_o sin_n remain_v in_o the_o best_a of_o his_o people_n to_o keep_v they_o humble_a thereby_o answ_n if_o it_o be_v the_o will_n of_o god_n that_o his_o best_a servant_n shall_v sin_v then_o his_o will_n be_v do_v when_o they_o sin_n and_o what_o reason_n have_v any_o man_n to_o be_v humble_v and_o cast-down_a because_o they_o have_v do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n but_o rather_o to_o unto_o those_o that_o be_v give_v up_o to_o believe_v this_o lye_n again_o let_v the_o understand_a reader_n i_o mean_v those_o that_o be_v weary_a with_o their_o sin_n and_o be_v willing_a to_o be_v free_v consider_v for_o as_o concern_v the_o other_o they_o be_v my_o opposer_n how_o can_v god_n proper_o be_v call_v almighty_a and_o how_o can_v the_o work_n of_o the_o conversion_n of_o soul_n proper_o be_v call_v his_o if_o he_o be_v necessitate_v to_o borrow_v something_o from_o the_o devil_n to_o keep_v his_o child_n humble_v withal_o certain_o we_o must_v conclude_v that_o if_o god_n have_v a_o better_a way_n to_o do_v it_o that_o he_o will_v do_v it_o in_o the_o best_a and_o not_o
