eternallsalvation_n and_o true_o if_o there_o be_v any_o probable_a argument_n of_o god_n election_n this_o be_v it_o when_o a_o man_n be_v more_o sollicitâ—â—s_a of_o his_o salvation_n then_o of_o any_o other_o thing_n cease_v not_o to_o pray_v to_o god_n for_o the_o gift_n of_o true_a repentance_n true_a humility_n perfect_a love_n and_o charity_n and_o perseverance_n to_o the_o end_n and_o not_o only_o satisfy_v with_o prayer_n but_o strive_v to_o seek_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o the_o righteousness_n 33._o thereof_o and_o to_o findâ—_n it_o with_o all_o his_o force_n and_o strength_n degree_n xiiii_o by_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god._n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o holy_a scripture_n do_v wonderful_o excel_v this_o mercy_n of_o his_o insomuch_o as_o he_o prefer_v it_o before_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o work_n for_o so_o say_v the_o psalmist_n the_o lord_n be_v love_v unto_o every_o 9_o man_n and_o his_o mercy_n be_v over_o all_o his_o mercy_n 1._o consist_v in_o this_o that_o god_n and_o god_n alone_o can_v deliver_v we_o out_o of_o all_o our_o misery_n and_o this_o he_o do_v not_o for_o any_o benefit_n to_o himself_o but_o out_o of_o the_o love_n which_o he_o have_v and_o bear_v to_o all_o thing_n create_v it_o be_v true_a that_o create_v thing_n can_v take_v away_o some_o misery_n as_o bread_n hunger_n drink_v thirst_n clothes_n nakedness_n and_o knowledge_n ignorance_n and_o so_o of_o the_o rest_n but_o no_o creature_n can_v take_v away_o all_o misery_n beside_o there_o be_v some_o misery_n which_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o grievous_a by_o how_o much_o the_o more_o hide_a and_o inward_a and_o none_o can_v give_v ease_n or_o remedy_n to_o these_o but_o god_n only_o such_o be_v the_o snare_n of_o the_o devil_n who_o be_v many_o most_o subtle_a powerful_a and_o ill_o affect_v to_o we_o such_o also_o be_v the_o error_n and_o blindness_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o of_o a_o erroneous_a conscience_n which_o we_o see_v not_o in_o ourselves_o so_o that_o ofttimes_o we_o seem_v to_o be_v very_o well_o touch_v the_o inward_a man_n when_o as_o indeed_o we_o be_v in_o a_o miserable_a plight_n and_o dangerous_a and_o who_o can_v deliver_v we_o from_o these_o malady_n but_o only_o the_o almighty_a physician_n and_o therefore_o when_o god_n heal_v we_o of_o these_o infirmity_n and_o we_o have_v no_o feel_n of_o the_o cure_n we_o never_o return_v he_o thanks_o and_o so_o it_o may_v true_o be_v say_v of_o we_o that_o god_n be_v good_a to_o the_o unthankful_a 35._o and_o evil_a for_o we_o scarce_o know_v the_o least_o part_n of_o god_n benefit_n neither_o give_v he_o thanks_n for_o they_o with_o that_o devotion_n and_o humility_n we_o ought_v again_o create_v thing_n not_o only_o take_v not_o away_o all_o misery_n but_o some_o few_o and_o those_o they_o take_v not_o away_o from_o all_o man_n but_o from_o a_o few_o it_o be_v god_n only_a that_o can_v deliver_v all_o man_n from_o all_o misery_n and_o although_o he_o do_v not_o take_v all_o from_o all_o man_n yet_o there_o be_v no_o man_n who_o participate_v not_o of_o some_o mercy_n of_o god_n for_o as_o king_n david_n say_v the_o earth_n be_v full_a of_o the_o goodness_n of_o 5._o the_o lord_n and_o as_o our_o church_n in_o the_o liturgy_n say_v o_o god_n who_o nature_n and_o property_n be_v ever_o to_o have_v mercy_n because_o it_o belong_v to_o he_o to_o take_v away_o misery_n who_o want_v misery_n and_o to_o he_o only_o it_o appertain_v to_o free_v all_o man_n from_o all_o misery_n that_o only_o be_v free_v himself_o from_o all_o misery_n and_o who_o be_v he_o but_o only_o god_n who_o be_v pure_a act_n and_o the_o chief_a good_a and_o from_o who_o essence_n proceed_v all_o blessedness_n o_o that_o thou_o can_v but_o attain_v by_o thy_o thought_n what_o a_o life_n be_v that_o of_o god_n thy_o father_n which_o be_v elevate_v above_o all_o misery_n and_o be_v pure_a and_o altogether_o happiness_n itself_o how_o will_v thou_o desire_v to_o be_v lodge_v in_o his_o breast_n that_o it_o may_v be_v say_v of_o thou_o there_o shall_v no_o evil_n happen_v 10._o unto_o thou_o neither_o shall_v any_o plague_n come_v nigh_o thy_o dwell_n but_o thou_o will_v say_v if_o god_n can_v take_v away_o all_o misery_n from_o all_o man_n why_o do_v he_o not_o so_o be_v a_o father_n of_o mercy_n that_o be_v a_o most_o
