discourse_n upon_o this_o subject_n i_o must_v endeavour_v to_o show_v you_o two_o thing_n first_o what_o paul_n mean_v when_o he_o say_v depart_v from_o iniquity_n second_o why_o some_o that_o as_o to_o word_n right_o name_v the_o name_n of_o christ_n do_v not_o depart_v from_o iniquity_n the_o first_o of_o those_o do_v need_v some_o explanation_n because_o in_o some_o sense_n even_o the_o best_a of_o saint_n can_v depart_v from_o sin_n or_o iniquity_n 1._o because_o as_o to_o the_o be_v of_o it_o it_o be_v seat_v and_o root_v in_o their_o flesh_n and_o have_v its_o dwell_n there_o yea_o it_o have_v and_o so_o will_v have_v a_o abide_n there_o so_o long_o as_o man_n be_v on_o this_o side_n that_o state_n of_o perfection_n which_o be_v not_o to_o be_v enjoy_v while_o we_o be_v in_o the_o flesh_n for_o in_o i_o 7._o that_o be_v in_o my_o flesh_n sin_n dwell_v nor_o do_v any_o thing_n else_o but_o sin_n dwell_v there_o for_o in_o i_o that_o be_v in_o my_o flesh_n say_v paul_n dwell_v no_o good_a thing_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n must_v not_o be_v understand_v as_o if_o he_o intend_v to_o insinuate_v that_o there_o be_v a_o possibility_n that_o the_o nature_n and_o be_v of_o sin_n can_v be_v pluck_v up_o by_o the_o root_n and_o so_o cast_v clean_o away_o from_o we_o as_o to_o the_o very_a nature_n thereof_o no_o that_o will_v abide_v with_o we_o for_o it_o have_v its_o dwell_n in_o we_o 2._o and_o as_o they_o can_v depart_v from_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o as_o such_o that_o be_v as_o they_o can_v be_v rid_v of_o the_o be_v of_o sin_n so_o neither_o can_v they_o depart_v from_o the_o motion_n and_o stir_n of_o sin_n no_o more_o than_o they_o can_v stir_v from_o the_o motion_n or_o stir_n of_o their_o natural_a sense_n or_o of_o their_o natural_a reason_n the_o motion_n of_o sin_n which_o paul_n also_o call_v the_o lust_n thereof_o will_v be_v where_o the_o nature_n and_o be_v of_o sin_n be_v because_o it_o be_v not_o dead_a for_o that_o which_o live_v what_o manner_n of_o life_n soever_o it_o have_v will_v have_v motion_n according_a to_o the_o manner_n of_o life_n which_o it_o have_v and_o sin_n be_v one_o of_o the_o most_o quick_a and_o brisk_a thing_n that_o be_v it_o will_v also_o have_v its_o motion_n and_o lust_n according_o hence_o paul_n say_v it_o lust_n and_o will_v lust_n 5.17_o where_o it_o be_v and_o dwell_v though_o the_o very_a spirit_n of_o god_n and_o the_o utmost_a diligence_n of_o a_o christian_a be_v also_o there_o to_o oppose_v it_o 3._o again_o as_o the_o be_v and_o motion_n of_o sin_n will_v be_v with_o with_o we_o nor_o can_v we_o so_o depart_v from_o iniquity_n 12.4_o as_o to_o be_v utter_o rid_v of_o all_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o what_o endeavour_v there_o be_v in_o sin_n and_o iniquity_n to_o be_v master_n and_o lord_n and_o reign_v sin_n will_v endeavour_v to_o defile_v the_o mind_n to_o defile_v the_o conscience_n to_o defile_v the_o life_n and_o conversation_n and_o this_o endeavour_n the_o be_v motions_z and_o endeavour_n of_o sin_n will_v still_o abide_v in_o our_o flesh_n so_o consequent_o will_v its_o pollute_a fume_n be_v upon_o we_o nor_o do_v the_o apostle_n mean_v when_o he_o bid_v we_o depart_v from_o iniquity_n that_o we_o shall_v think_v that_o we_o can_v so_o be_v or_o so_o do_v in_o this_o life_n as_o that_o our_o be_v or_o do_v shall_v not_o smell_v of_o the_o strong_a scent_n of_o sin_n 14.4_o who_o can_v bring_v a_o clean_a thing_n out_o of_o a_o unclean_a not_o one_o we_o be_v all_o as_o a_o unclean_a thing_n and_o therefore_o all_o our_o righteousness_n perform_v through_o that_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o be_v

understanding_n of_o he_o we_o must_v consider_v that_o there_o be_v a_o iniquity_n that_o be_v inherent_a in_o we_o and_o a_o iniquity_n that_o be_v apart_o and_o at_o a_o distance_n from_o we_o affection_n there_o from_o and_o he_o tell_v we_o that_o they_o that_o be_v christ_n do_v so_o and_o they_o that_o be_v christ_n have_v crucify_v the_o flesh_n with_o the_o affection_n and_o lust_n 5.24_o sinful_a lust_n and_o sinful_a motion_n our_o mind_n and_o affection_n shall_v depart_v from_o they_o there_o be_v the_o affection_n and_o lust_n of_o sin_n and_o there_o be_v the_o affection_n and_o lust_n or_o desire_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o again_o there_o be_v the_o affection_n and_o lust_n of_o the_o new_a man_n in_o saint_n now_o this_o be_v that_o that_o the_o apostle_n will_v have_v to_o wit_n that_o the_o affection_n and_o passion_n of_o our_o soul_n shall_v not_o choose_v but_o depart_v from_o the_o affection_n &_o lust_n of_o our_o old_a man_n and_o shall_v be_v renew_v and_o make_v willing_a to_o be_v lead_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n from_o they_o this_o i_o say_v say_v he_o 16._o walk_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o you_o shall_v not_o fulfil_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n wherefore_o when_o he_o say_v depart_v from_o iniquity_n if_o he_o mean_v from_o our_o own_o inherent_a iniquity_n than_o he_o muâ—t_v mean_v thus_o take_v your_o mind_n and_o your_o help_v and_o deliverance_n from_o it_o and_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o the_o saint_n and_o shall_v be_v with_o every_o one_o that_o by_o way_n of_o profession_n name_v the_o name_n of_o christ_n 7._o he_o shall_v depart_v from_o his_o indwelling_a sin_n with_o his_o mind_n with_o his_o mind_n he_o shall_v serve_v the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o this_o be_v a_o excellent_a thing_n to_o do_v and_o detestable_a lust_n and_o after_o their_o inward_a abomination_n 6.8_o but_o such_o shall_v of_o the_o flesh_n reap_v corruption_n notwithstanding_o they_o name_v the_o name_n of_o christ._n sin_n be_v sweet_a to_o he_o that_o be_v nothing_o but_o flesh_n 20.12_o or_o that_o can_v savour_v nothing_o but_o what_o be_v of_o the_o flesh_n nor_o can_v it_o be_v that_o he_o that_o be_v such_o though_o they_o profess_v religion_n and_o name_n the_o name_n of_o christ_n can_v please_v god_n for_o such_o instead_o of_o walk_v in_o and_o after_o the_o spirit_n have_v put_v the_o stumble_a block_n of_o their_o iniquity_n before_o their_o face_n 8._o to_o hinder_v their_o depart_n therefrom_o nor_o will_v all_o their_o inquire_v of_o god_n nor_o their_o seek_v and_o pray_v to_o he_o keep_v they_o from_o stumble_v and_o fall_v and_o spliting_a themselves_o in_o sunder_o upon_o the_o rock_n and_o ruin_n that_o be_v provide_v for_o they_o 14.16_o as_o a_o reward_n of_o the_o evil_a
