arminian_o protest_v against_o viz._n the_o sufficiency_n or_o ability_n of_o man_n to_o believe_v without_o any_o help_n from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n we_o have_v now_o meet_v with_o mr._n collier_n evident_o in_o his_o forego_n discourse_n and_o these_o when_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n spirit_n be_v propose_v to_o they_o receive_v they_o not_o but_o esteem_v they_o foolishness_n his_o three_o exception_n be_v plain_o ridiculous_a he_o say_v all_o where_o the_o gospel_n come_v shall_v understand_v and_o believe_v it_o but_o its_o thâ—se_a only_o that_o by_o the_o word_n and_o spirit_n of_o some_o degree_n and_o measure_n of_o ohem_n to_o comply_v with_o his_o mind_n and_o will_n which_o they_o voluntary_o neglect_v and_o this_o of_o its_o self_n be_v sufficient_a to_o bear_v the_o charge_n of_o their_o eternal_a ruin_n the_o second_o thing_n whereby_o he_o endeavour_v to_o prove_v his_o opinion_n p._n 25._o be_v because_o god_n blame_v those_o under_o all_o his_o ministration_n can_v make_v good_a sense_n of_o these_o word_n have_v more_o skill_n than_o i_o but_o i_o hearty_o wish_v nonsense_n have_v be_v the_o worst_a fault_n in_o mr._n collier_n book_n however_o it_o be_v the_o rest_n leave_v without_o excuse_n or_o cloak_n for_o their_o sin_n as_o for_o that_o clause_n that_o in_o no_o case_n be_v able_a to_o help_v it_o it_o be_v fallacious_a they_o act_n spontaneous_o and_o be_v in_o no_o case_n willing_a to_o help_v it_o who_o soul_n be_v not_o renew_v by_o special_a grace_n he_o go_v on_o p._n 26._o 4._o it_o must_v be_v so_o because_o the_o contrary_n leave_v the_o condemnation_n of_o sinner_n at_o god_n door_n which_o fâ—r_v be_v it_o from_o any_o sober_a spirit_n to_o imagine_v for_o god_n to_o bring_v forth_o a_o glorious_a therein_o it_o can_v not_o be_v their_o sin_n 4_o for_o it_o be_v no_o man_n sin_n not_o to_o do_v what_o he_o can_v do_v but_o what_o he_o can_v and_o may_v do_v have_v he_o a_o will_n to_o it_o the_o thing_n before_o plead_v do_v full_o remove_v out_o of_o our_o way_n what_o be_v here_o offer_v but_o far_a to_o detect_v his_o aequivocation_n mind_n 1._o although_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o dead_a sinner_n to_o quicken_v themselves_o yet_o see_v this_o impossibility_n be_v found_v in_o the_o corruption_n of_o their_o nature_n and_o wickedness_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n it_o can_v aâ—d_v common_a grace_n which_o they_o have_v receive_v yet_o in_o a_o large_a sense_n may_v be_v term_v hypocrite_n as_o they_o be_v oppose_v to_o they_o who_o have_v receive_v the_o spirit_n with_o true_a and_o save_a grace_n i_o shall_v close_v this_o with_o my_o earnest_a request_n to_o mr._n c._n that_o before_o he_o adventure_v on_o a_o far_a opposition_n to_o this_o great_a truth_n he_o will_v serious_o peruse_v the_o book_n refer_v to_o and_o diligent_o consider_v the_o strength_n of_o what_o be_v there_o plead_v by_o the_o reverend_a author_n for_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o saint_n perseverance_n which_o if_o he_o will_v do_v i_o be_o persuade_v the_o profit_n or_o at_o least_o conviction_n of_o the_o weakness_n of_o his_o present_a argument_n against_o it_o which_o he_o have_v do_v in_o a_o matter_n of_o so_o great_a importance_n chap._n vi_o of_o justification_n that_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n which_o concern_v the_o justification_n of_o a_o sinner_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n must_v needs_o be_v acknowledge_v to_o be_v of_o great_a importance_n and_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v more_o careful_a of_o nothing_o then_o that_o our_o mind_n be_v not_o corrupt_v from_o the_o simplicity_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o we_o move_v from_o our_o stead_n fastness_n thereabouts_o and_o therefore_o although_o mr._n collier_n in_o the_o book_n before_o i_o have_v say_v
