than_o the_o effect_n 3._o what_o do_v we_o reach_v forth_o by_o love_n which_o we_o have_v not_o receive_v by_o faith_n quest_n 2._o now_o we_o come_v to_o the_o second_o question_n whether_o justify_v faith_n do_v not_o as_o well_o believe_v the_o whole_a word_n of_o god_n as_o apprehend_v and_o apply_v christ_n and_o his_o merit_n whether_o the_o office_n of_o it_o be_v only_o restrain_v to_o justify_v answ_n although_o christ_n and_o his_o merit_n be_v the_o principal_a object_n of_o this_o faith_n why_o yet_o the_o same_o faith_n which_o receive_v christ_n and_o rest_v on_o he_o and_o so_o justify_v believe_v all_o the_o other_o promise_v make_v of_o god_n in_o christ_n unto_o believer_n whether_o they_o concern_v this_o life_n or_o the_o life_n to_o come_v nay_o believe_v not_o enjoy_v the_o mean_n in_o a_o lively_a and_o constant_a way_n and_o it_o may_v be_v this_o thy_o own_o fault_n thou_o be_v too_o willing_a to_o live_v under_o a_o unprofitable_a ministry_n second_o it_o may_v be_v thou_o do_v not_o judge_v aright_o of_o thy_o own_o case_n there_o be_v time_n when_o the_o true_a christian_a be_v not_o a_o competent_a judge_n of_o his_o own_o spiritual_a estate_n as_o when_o the_o humour_n of_o melancholy_n be_v big_a and_o boisterous_a in_o he_o or_o when_o his_o brain_n be_v crazy_a through_o some_o long_a or_o violent_a sickness_n or_o he_o be_v much_o overgo_v with_o trouble_n of_o conscience_n three_o be_v it_o not_o the_o daily_a grief_n of_o thy_o soul_n that_o thou_o come_v on_o no_o more_o in_o grace_n and_o that_o corruption_n be_v so_o lively_a in_o thou_o why_o then_o sure_o thou_o grow_v in_o the_o root_n although_o not_o in_o the_o blossom_n four_o to_o be_v sensible_a of_o corruption_n be_v a_o sign_n of_o a_o live_a soul_n which_o can_v be_v without_o a_o true_a faith_n five_o the_o more_o thou_o see_v corruption_n the_o less_o it_o be_v because_o in_o see_v it_o thou_o hate_v it_o it_o matter_n not_o so_o much_o what_o time_n a_o earnest_a desire_n in_o thou_o to_o pray_v and_o this_o manifest_v by_o sigh_n and_o groan_n thou_o be_v to_o know_v this_o be_v a_o good_a sign_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n and_o further_o that_o the_o lord_n can_v pick_v sense_n out_o of_o a_o confuse_a prayer_n and_o for_o thy_o comfort_n weigh_v the_o place_n follow_v rom._n 8.26_o 27._o we_o know_v not_o what_o we_o then_o further_o than_o thou_o consente_v they_o be_v thy_o affliction_n but_o not_o thy_o sin_n 3_o be_v not_o our_o saviour_n himself_o molest_v in_o this_o kind_n by_o satan_n matth._n 4.1_o etc._n etc._n 4_o do_v not_o thou_o in_o grief_n of_o soul_n cry_v to_o god_n for_o pardon_n of_o these_o thought_n and_o help_v against_o they_o 5_o i_o shall_v rather_o take_v this_o to_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o thy_o faith_n satan_n seldom_o molest_v his_o friend_n i_o mean_v natural_a man_n and_o woman_n this_o way_n object_n 9_o but_o i_o have_v so_o many_o outward_a cross_n and_o affliction_n upon_o i_o and_o i_o be_o so_o impatient_a under_o they_o as_o i_o fear_v i_o have_v no_o faith_n ans_fw-fr for_o the_o former_a part_n of_o the_o objection_n it_o be_v scarce_o worth_a answer_v affliction_n and_o cross_n be_v the_o common_a lot_n of_o believer_n in_o this_o veil_n of_o tear_n as_o psal_n 34.19_o many_o be_v the_o affliction_n of_o the_o righteous_a and_o heb._n 12.8_o if_o you_o be_v without_o chastisement_n whereof_o all_o be_v partaker_n then_o be_v you_o bastard_n and_o not_o son_n now_o for_o the_o latter_a part_n of_o the_o objection_n impatience_n under_o cross_n that_o be_v much_o to_o be_v lament_v and_o bewail_v yet_o thou_o must_v not_o hence_o conclude_v that_o thou_o have_v no_o faith_n because_o we_o read_v of_o divers_a believer_n in_o
