the_o understanding_n and_o reason_n and_o do_v carry_v the_o will_n into_o slavery_n to_o they_o and_o to_o show_v how_o they_o must_v be_v renounce_v upon_o that_o account_n also_o what_o the_o frame_n and_o constitution_n of_o humane_a nature_n original_o be_v and_o how_o it_o be_v now_o break_a i_o have_v already_o show_v you_o as_o also_o how_o that_o instead_o of_o the_o harmonious_a subordination_n of_o the_o inferior_a faculty_n to_o the_o superior_a that_o the_o affection_n lust_n and_o appetite_n do_v absolute_o reign_v and_o that_o reason_n and_o conscience_n be_v in_o the_o to_o reduce_v man_n as_o near_o as_o possible_a to_o his_o primitive_a state_n of_o innocence_n and_o integrity_n to_o rescue_v he_o out_o of_o slavery_n to_o restore_v he_o to_o himself_o to_o put_v right_a reason_n and_o religion_n again_o into_o the_o throne_n and_o to_o subject_v his_o affection_n and_o passion_n his_o lust_n and_o appetite_n and_o every_o inordinate_a inclination_n within_o he_o to_o the_o dictate_v and_o law_n thereof_o refuse_v to_o gratify_v any_o of_o those_o in_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v sinful_a and_o unlawful_a this_o be_v to_o wrestle_v against_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o thus_o we_o must_v wrestle_v till_o we_o overcome_v and_o bring_v it_o under_o into_o a_o entire_a subjection_n to_o right_a reason_n as_o ever_o we_o expect_v to_o be_v friend_n of_o god_n or_o ever_o hope_v to_o be_v inheritor_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n there_o be_v nothing_o more_o plain_a in_o scripture_n than_o the_o utter_a inconsistency_n of_o a_o carnal_a temper_n many_o rude_a and_o wild_a horse_n that_o must_v be_v manage_v and_o tame_v and_o keep_v in_o good_a order_n and_o render_v serviceable_a and_o useful_a to_o the_o mind_n and_o reason_n now_o so_o it_o be_v as_o a_o well-ordered_a and_o manage_v horse_n may_v sometime_o stumble_v and_o start_v aside_o though_o his_o rider_n keep_v a_o very_a strait_n rein_n and_o a_o wary_a hand_n upon_o he_o so_o in_o this_o corrupt_a and_o deprave_a state_n of_o our_o nature_n our_o fleshly_a lust_n will_v sometime_o at_o leastwise_o even_o in_o the_o most_o regenerate_v have_v some_o small_a tendency_n some_o imperfect_a velleity_n and_o woulding_n towards_o evil_a thing_n but_o if_o we_o shall_v take_v due_a care_n to_o keep_v so_o watchful_a a_o eye_n and_o wary_a a_o hand_n over_o they_o as_o present_o so_o soon_o as_o we_o perceive_v any_o evil_a motion_n and_o tendency_n to_o curb_v and_o restrain_v it_o and_o not_o willing_o nor_o wilful_o to_o indulge_v any_o evil_a inclination_n we_o shall_v by_o the_o gracious_a acceptance_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n be_v account_v good_a manager_n of_o that_o hard_a province_n the_o renounce_v or_o subdue_a of_o our_o fleshly_a lust_n if_o in_o the_o general_a course_n of_o our_o life_n we_o act_n like_o man_n endow_v with_o reason_n and_o grace_n we_o shall_v be_v pardon_v all_o our_o unwilling_a and_o unavoidable_a infirmity_n iii_o

acceptable_a to_o god_n but_o as_o to_o his_o grace_n and_o assistance_n to_o enable_v we_o to_o serve_v and_o obey_v he_o we_o may_v be_v sure_a of_o never_o fail_v in_o such_o our_o petition_n and_o therefore_o you_o may_v be_v particular_o assure_v that_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o father_n of_o the_o church_n accompany_v with_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n to_o which_o there_o be_v a_o particular_a
