earth_n in_o each_o in_o both_o till_o he_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o both_o into_o the_o pit_n and_o bind_v up_o in_o the_o pit_n there_o
the_o flesh_n be_v throw_v into_o the_o furnace_n the_o spirit_n go_v with_o it_o and_o be_v burn_v and_o melt_v in_o the_o fire_n as_o well_o as_o it_o therefore_o all_o the_o life_n the_o spirit_n when_o there_o be_v no_o deph_n i_o be_v bring_v forth_o when_o no_o fountain_n abound_v with_o water_n verse_n 25._o before_o the_o mountain_n be_v settle_v before_o the_o hill_n be_v i_o bring_v forth_o the_o depth_n and_o fountain_n they_o be_v the_o eminent_a thing_n in_o the_o water_n the_o mountain_n and_o hill_n they_o be_v as_o eminent_a in_o the_o land_n or_o dry_a part_n of_o the_o with_o his_o chain_n that_o we_o can_v stir_v no_o whither_o do_v nothing_o without_o his_o leave_n i_o tell_v you_o sir_n it_o be_v as_o impossible_a to_o believe_v to_o hope_v to_o wait_v to_o rejoice_v in_o god_n nay_o to_o submit_v to_o god_n in_o this_o captivity_n as_o it_o be_v for_o the_o man_n who_o be_v never_o yet_o bring_v out_o of_o his_o kingdom_n life_n whole_o shut_v up_o inward_a spiritual_a nature_n he_o be_v a_o perfect_a tyrant_n will_v still_o be_v put_v his_o slave_n to_o that_o which_o may_v be_v most_o irksome_a to_o he_o and_o which_o may_v most_o manifest_a his_o own_o dominion_n over_o he_o and_o here_o i_o can_v relate_v some_o strange_a thing_n which_o i_o have_v hear_v of_o one_o that_o have_v feel_v how_o in_o the_o time_n of_o his_o captivity_n he_o never_o resolve_v against_o any_o thing_n nor_o strong_o desire_v to_o avoid_v any_o thing_n but_o he_o be_v sure_a to_o be_v force_v into_o it_o and_o find_v this_o his_o great_a relief_n and_o safety_n to_o lie_v perfect_o open_a to_o all_o manner_n of_o weakness_n 4._o there_o be_v hard_a usage_n under_o all_o this_o buffet_n blow_n sharp_a stroke_n upon_o the_o spirit_n he_o deal_v like_o the_o turk_n with_o their_o galleyslave_n beat_v they_o whether_o they_o work_v or_o no_o he_o use_v all_o manner_n of_o tyranny_n towards_o they_o be_v not_o please_v with_o any_o thing_n they_o can_v do_v but_o hate_v they_o perfect_o and_o do_v they_o all_o the_o mischief_n he_o can_v because_o of_o that_o life_n in_o they_o which_o still_o live_v in_o the_o root_n and_o shall_v break_v forth_o again_o in_o branch_n leaf_n and_o fruit_n for_o all_o this_o indeed_o he_o who_o be_v never_o out_o of_o his_o clutch_n may_v have_v some_o fair_a quarter_n from_o his_o hand_n but_o he_o who_o be_v bring_v back_o again_o with_o the_o life_n in_o he_o must_v expect_v to_o feel_v the_o utmost_a that_o his_o malice_n be_v suffer_v to_o do_v unless_o he_o will_v yield_v as_o many_o shall_v and_o extremity_n will_v much_o urge_v all_o and_o over-bear_a the_o strong_a resolution_n of_o stand_v out_o and_o come_v under_o his_o banner_n and_o then_o he_o shall_v have_v light_a enough_o and_o strength_n enough_o and_o pleasure_n enough_o in_o his_o service_n but_o this_o they_o can_v do_v because_o their_o nature_n steer_v they_o otherwise_o and_o therefore_o must_v undergo_v the_o brunt_n ii_o the_o spirit_n helplessness_n under_o it_o or_o the_o ineffectualness_n of_o all_o mean_n that_o can_v be_v use_v towards_o redemption_n or_o towards_o mitigation_n of_o the_o rigour_n of_o this_o captivity_n there_o be_v a_o taste_n of_o that_o here_o too_o for_o this_o i_o pray_v thrice_o paul_n use_v all_o his_o strength_n in_o prayer_n all_o his_o interest_n in_o god_n but_o it_o will_v not_o avail_v he_o must_v bear_v these_o buffet_n so_o be_v it_o in_o this_o captivity_n it_o must_v have_v its_o course_n pray_v never_o so_o hard_a the_o cup_n will_v neither_o pass_v from_o you_o nor_o so_o much_o as_o one_o drop_n be_v abate_v it_o be_v not_o possible_a for_o this_o cup_n or_o the_o least_o portion_n of_o it_o to_o pass_v from_o the_o dear_a one_o of_o god_n this_o be_v christ_n cup_n he_o drink_v all_o his_o share_n and_o every_o one_o must_v drink_v all_o they_o and_o the_o physic_n as_o it_o be_v very_o strong_a so_o it_o will_v make_v nature_n of_o god_n its_o interest_n in_o god_n etc._n etc._n all_o be_v dead_a all_o be_v dark_a all_o be_v confound_v there_o be_v nothing_o now_o can_v be_v look_v upon_o but_o as_o it_o be_v represent_v in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o darkness_n as_o it_o be_v poison_v by_o the_o devil_n and_o so_o tend_v but_o further_o to_o poison_v and_o torment_v the_o soul_n and_o the_o more_o it_o think_v on_o these_o the_o more_o it_o feed_v on_o these_o the_o more_o it_o seek_v relief_n from_o these_o the_o more_o it_o suck_v in_o that_o which_o still_a administer_v fresh_a anguish_n and_o death_n
