from_o profaneness_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o sin_n and_o to_o persuade_v they_o therefore_o to_o hate_v that_o which_o be_v evil_a to_o die_v to_o sin_n to_o live_v to_o righteousness_n to_o love_v and_o live_v to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n because_o he_o die_v for_o they_o and_o rise_v again_o and_o we_o declare_v unto_o all_o man_n that_o if_o they_o do_v not_o leave_v sin_n repent_v and_o live_v to_o christ_n but_o deny_v his_o word_n despise_v his_o spirit_n and_o slight_a his_o blood_n they_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o be_v damn_v for_o ever_o because_o they_o live_v not_o to_o he_o that_o not_o they_o shall_v be_v destroy_v at_o the_o last_o day_n second_o this_o doctrine_n can_v be_v the_o nurse_n of_o a_o dead_a faith_n if_o true_o preach_v and_o receive_v for_o this_o teach_v man_n to_o know_v first_o by_o the_o scripture_n that_o christ_n die_v for_o they_o and_o what_o a_o man_n know_v infallible_o he_o may_v believe_v comfortable_o undoubted_o and_o without_o waver_v yea_o all_o faith_n that_o be_v not_o groundupon_o knowledge_n be_v but_o a_o mere_a fancy_n and_o very_o uncertain_a when_o man_n believe_v they_o know_v not_o what_o but_o one_o the_o contrary_a mr._n troughtons_n doctrine_n be_v the_o nursery_n of_o profaneness_n and_o deadness_n of_o faith_n or_o at_o least_o of_o sadness_n of_o soul_n yea_o despair_n of_o mercy_n how_o many_o poor_a wretch_n hear_v that_o god_n do_v appoint_v a_o certain_a number_n of_o person_n only_o to_o believe_v and_o so_o to_o be_v save_v and_o the_o rest_n to_o disobedience_n and_o so_o to_o be_v damn_v have_v desperate_o conclude_v if_o i_o be_o appoint_v to_o believe_v and_o be_v save_v i_o shall_v be_v save_v live_v how_o i_o will_v and_o other_o when_o they_o commit_v sin_n soothe_v up_o themselves_o with_o this_o conceit_n it_o be_v god_n will_n that_o they_o shall_v commit_v such_o sin_n god_n do_v decree_n and_o appoint_v they_o to_o be_v disobedient_a and_o it_o can_v not_o be_v avoid_v with_o many_o such_o devilish_a conclusion_n tend_v to_o all_o lewdness_n looseness_n and_o profaneness_n that_o can_v be_v imagine_v and_o hence_o it_o be_v there_o be_v so_o much_o bitterness_n wrath_n hatred_n revenge_n and_o strife_n among_o man_n for_o do_v they_o but_o know_v and_o serious_o lay_v to_o heart_n that_o christ_n shed_v his_o blood_n for_o those_o poor_a creature_n that_o injure_v they_o and_o which_o they_o so_o malign_v their_o heart_n will_v melt_v towards_o they_o they_o will_v not_o hate_v their_o person_n nor_o seek_v to_o ruin_v their_o estate_n only_o abhor_v their_o vice_n and_o seek_v to_o draw_v they_o out_o of_o the_o sink_n of_o their_o sin_n it_o must_v of_o necessity_n also_o be_v the_o root_n of_o a_o dead_a faith_n for_o what_o life_n can_v that_o faith_n have_v which_o be_v ground_v upon_o our_o own_o qualification_n for_o thus_o mr._n troughton_n teach_v man_n to_o argue_v christ_n die_v for_o believer_n sheep_n saint_n but_o i_o be_o a_o believer_n a_o sheep_n a_o saint_n therefore_o christ_n die_v for_o i_o but_o the_o scripture_n prove_v neither_o of_o his_o proposition_n but_o teach_v we_o better_o logic_n thus_o christ_n die_v for_o sinner_n for_o the_o ungodly_a for_o all_o for_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o those_o that_o deny_v he_o therefore_o for_o i_o and_o this_o show_v gracious_a humility_n the_o other_o vain_a ostentation_n this_o give_v sweet_a and_o certain_a assurance_n of_o god_n love_n to_o any_o poor_a soul_n the_o other_o when_o his_o qualification_n be_v absent_a as_o often_o they_o be_v leave_v the_o creature_n in_o they_o and_o wherein_o that_o consist_v the_o apostle_n paul_n show_v we_o rom._n 5._o 8._o &_o 1_o joh._n 4._o 9_o 10_o 19_o herein_o be_v love_n not_o that_o we_o love_v god_n but_o he_o love_v we_o this_o kind_n staltham_n yet_o he_o beg_v a_o blessing_n on_o his_o babe_n but_o if_o ever_o his_o wisdom_n return_v to_o he_o and_o his_o eye_n be_v open_v to_o see_v the_o deformity_n of_o the_o self_n contradiction_n and_o soul-distraction_n that_o be_v in_o it_o he_o will_v fly_v from_o it_o as_o moses_n from_o his_o change_a rod_n and_o rather_o curse_v the_o day_n that_o this_o misshape_a monster_n come_v to_o light_n to_o restrain_v and_o limit_v scripture_n redemption_n i_o wonder_v what_o use_n m._n tro._n can_v put_v his_o doctrine_n to_o it_o afford_v no_o encouragement_n to_o the_o rebellious_a to_o come_v in_o for_o if_o they_o shall_v be_v of_o that_o number_n which_o christ_n die_v not_o for_o which_o be_v far_o the_o great_a if_o m._n tro._n doctrine_n be_v true_a it_o will_v not_o benefit_v they_o at_o ill_a as_o to_o their_o eternal_a state_n it_o can_v yield_v no_o solid_a or_o certain_a comfort_n to_o a_o droop_a heart_n for_o if_o christ_n do_v not_o die_v for_o all_o still_o he_o doubt_v whether_o he_o die_v for_o he_o and_o if_o god_n appoint_v man_n to_o be_v disobedient_a how_o dare_v m._n tro._n reprove_v they_o for_o be_v so_o no_o sound_a exhortation_n to_o repent_v and_o believe_v arise_v from_o his_o tenet_n for_o he_o say_v god_n have_v not_o enable_v his_o creature_n to_o do_v either_o but_o it_o must_v be_v do_v in_o they_o by_o a_o irresistible_a power_n he_o can_v never_o convince_v a_o soul_n of_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o grace_n and_o love_n of_o god_n to_o he_o for_o nothing_o will_v do_v that_o but_o the_o unerring_a evidence_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o where_o that_o say_v christ_n die_v for_o all_o he_o deny_v it_o and_o say_v the_o scripture_n mean_v no_o such_o thing_n it_o send_v forth_o no_o dehortation_n from_o vice_n for_o he_o say_v that_o they_o who_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o grace_n the_o state_n to_o use_v his_o expression_n can_v never_o fall_v final_o from_o it_o nor_o they_o that_o christ_n die_v not_o for_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o it_o and_o what_o need_n m._n tro._n dissuade_v any_o man_n from_o a_o evil_a way_n be_v this_o doctrine_n and_o how_o can_v he_o inform_v any_o poor_a soul_n of_o the_o great_a kindness_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n to_o he_o or_o she_o when_o he_o can_v clear_o prove_v by_o express_a text_n of_o scripture_n that_o christ_n die_v for_o they_o hâ—_n may_v say_v thus_o see_v christ_n do_v not_o die_v for_o all_o which_o be_v his_o doctrine_n than_o this_o serve_v to_o reprove_v they_o that_o say_v he_o do_v and_o that_o be_v isaiah_o christ_n paul_n peter_n and_o john_n and_o see_v god_n have_v appoint_v most_o man_n to_o be_v disobedient_a this_o may_v encourage_v and_o comfort_v they_o in_o their_o disobedience_n in_o that_o they_o do_v what_o god_n appoint_v they_o to_o do_v and_o see_v god_n command_v all_o to_o believe_v and_o accept_v of_o christ_n yet_o have_v not_o give_v power_n or_o ability_n to_o any_o so_o to_o do_v as_o he_o say_v it_o show_v what_o a_o hard_a master_n god_n be_v who_o require_v of_o his_o creature_n that_o which_o they_o can_v never_o yea_o that_o which_o at_o lest_o he_o never_o intend_v the_o great_a part_n shall_v perform_v and_o see_v those_o that_o he_o call_v saint_n can_v never_o fall_v away_o from_o that_o state_n this_o may_v encourage_v man_n to_o go_v on_o in_o sin_n and_o cry_v peace_n and_o safety_n till_o sudden_a destruction_n hurl_v they_o into_o endless_a misery_n and_o though_o m._n tro._n will_v not_o in_o word_n make_v such_o use_n of_o his_o doctrine_n yet_o satan_n have_v and_o do_v prevail_v upon_o thousand_o the_o more_o be_v the_o pity_n to_o make_v such_o use_n of_o it_o they_o so_o natural_o arise_v form_n those_o position_n which_o he_o maintain_v i_o know_v that_o such_o use_n be_v wicked_a much_o more_o be_v the_o doctrine_n that_o yield_v they_o if_o such_o fruit_n be_v to_o be_v abhor_v as_o sure_o it_o be_v much_o more_o the_o tree_n that_o bear_v it_o a_o good_a tree_n can_v yield_v such_o corrupt_a fruit_n the_o great_a god_n lay_v his_o axe_n to_o the_o root_n of_o it_o and_o pluck_v up_o every_o plant_n that_o his_o hand_n have_v not_o plant_v not_o by_o might_n nor_o by_o power_n but_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o if_o mr._n tro._n have_v better_a use_n which_o clear_o come_v from_o his_o doctrine_n i_o wonder_v he_o do_v not_o produce_v they_o for_o my_o part_n i_o shall_v as_o brief_o as_o i_o can_v show_v you_o that_o read_v these_o thing_n what_o use_v the_o lord_n have_v teach_v i_o by_o his_o spirit_n in_o the_o word_n to_o make_v of_o the_o doctrine_n that_o i_o hold_v forth_o and_o which_o m._n tro._n call_v heretical_a erroneous_a and_o corrupt_a opinion_n a_o corrupt_a tree_n can_v bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n search_v therefore_o courteous_a reader_n and_o see_v whether_o the_o use_v i_o be_o by_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o lord_n about_o to_o lay_v down_o be_v good_a and_o then_o whether_o they_o be_v not_o the_o natural_a and_o genuine_a issue_n of_o those_o doctrine_n which_o man_n call_v heretical_a 1._o if_o christ_n die_v for_o all_o which_o be_v paul_n doctrine_n and_o i_o 1._o for_o the_o world_n for_o the_o whole_a world_n for_o every_o man_n as_o the_o scripture_n say_v etc._n etc._n it_o may_v serve_v to_o convince_v m._n tro._n and_o every_o man_n and_o woman_n that_o he_o die_v for_o he_o and_o she_o that_o hear_v this_o glad_a tiding_n and_o that_o there_o be_v good_a news_n or_o gospel_n for_o they_o and_o also_o to_o convince_v they_o of_o sin_n who_o believe_v not_o on_o he_o which_o can_v not_o be_v if_o he_o die_v not_o for_o they_o 2._o it_o serve_v to_o reprove_v they_o that_o continue_v in_o sin_n and_o act_v contrary_a to_o he_o that_o give_v his_o only_a son_n to_o die_v for_o they_o 3._o it_o inform_v we_o of_o the_o great_a and_o infinite_a love_n of_o the_o father_n that_o give_v his_o only_a son_n &_o he_o his_o dear_a heart_n blood_n first_o virtual_o in_o the_o promise_n then_o actual_o in_o person_n rather_o then_o lose_v man_n shall_v want_v a_o redeemer_n and_o withal_o to_o inform_v man_n of_o the_o horrid_a and_o odious_a nature_n of_o sin_n which_o nothing_o can_v full_o take_v away_o without_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n 4._o this_o may_v serve_v to_o persuade_v yea_o constrain_v sinner_n who_o do_v all_o live_v through_o jesus_n christ_n to_o love_v he_o that_o love_v they_o first_o and_o give_v his_o son_n to_o be_v a_o propitiation_n for_o they_o and_o of_o the_o christian_a faith_n neither_o be_v their_o conversation_n suitable_a to_o the_o holy_a precept_n of_o the_o most_o high_a for_o they_o speak_v and_o act_v as_o child_n neither_o do_v god_n require_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o for_o he_o speak_v not_o to_o child_n 2._o this_o discover_v the_o folly_n of_o baby-sprinklers_a who_o require_v more_o of_o poor_a creature_n than_o they_o be_v able_a to_o perform_v which_o show_v that_o their_o ministry_n in_o this_o as_o in_o other_o thing_n be_v not_o of_o god_n who_o never_o exact_v that_o of_o any_o which_o he_o of_o his_o own_o
