blessing_n rather_o than_o another_o no_o reason_n can_v be_v give_v why_o all_o shall_v not_o apply_v it_o to_o themselves_o though_o never_o so_o bad_a nay_o why_o they_o ought_v not_o to_o apply_v it_o n.c._n no_o that_o be_v too_o great_a a_o boldness_n they_o must_v be_v humble_v and_o cast_v down_o c._n then_o it_o seem_v they_o ought_v to_o feel_v some_o qualification_n in_o themselves_o withal_o let_v they_o acquaint_v we_o by_o what_o title_n they_o claim_v this_o favour_n more_o than_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o sect_n that_o be_v spring_v from_o they_o who_o may_v take_v the_o call_v persecute_v and_o now_o be_v not_o n._n c._n then_o they_o be_v change_v for_o the_o better_a c._n you_o shall_v have_v say_v then_o they_o be_v change_v which_o be_v the_o thing_n we_o be_v speak_v of_o whether_o for_o the_o better_a or_o no_o that_o be_v another_o question_n and_o let_v they_o if_o you_o please_v resolve_v it_o i_o believe_v they_o will_v not_o confess_v they_o be_v of_o a_o persecute_v spirit_n when_o they_o be_v against_o the_o liberty_n which_o they_o now_o claim_v n._n c._n what_o do_v you_o make_v they_o of_o no_o principle_n at_o all_o c._n do_v not_o some_o of_o you_o think_v be_v enough_o this_o we_o profess_v to_o have_v feel_v as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o the_o form_n of_o order_v priest_n if_o it_o be_v further_a necessary_a to_o be_v approve_v by_o presbyter_n and_o to_o have_v their_o hand_n lay_v on_o they_o this_o be_v not_o want_v to_o we_o as_o you_o may_v there_o also_o be_v satisfy_v n._n c._n but_o the_o bishop_n lay_v on_o his_o hand_n also_o c._n and_o can_v this_o unhallow_a they_o when_o they_o be_v so_o dedicate_v to_o god_n n._n c._n yes_o so_o i_o be_o tell_v c._n then_o you_o will_v soon_o believe_v what_o one_o of_o your_o own_o party_n say_v without_o any_o reason_n than_o what_o we_o say_v with_o all_o the_o reason_n in_o the_o world_n which_o be_v plain_o partial_a affection_n n._n c._n why_o so_o c._n be_v it_o not_o apparent_a that_o a_o bishop_n be_v a_o presbyter_n too_o though_o we_o think_v he_o more_o n._n c._n you_o acknowledge_v a_o distinction_n of_o person_n in_o the_o church_n which_o be_v antichristian_a c._n nay_o than_o i_o have_v do_v with_o you_o you_o condemn_v all_o the_o ancient_a church_n of_o antichristianism_n and_o more_o than_o that_o the_o very_a apostle_n themselves_o the_o very_a dregs_o of_o all_o other_o sect_n with_o your_o own_o and_o believe_v any_o thing_n that_o make_v against_o we_o even_o such_o thing_n as_o the_o minister_n you_o common_o hear_v will_v be_v ashamed_a to_o say_v first_o you_o only_o dislike_v the_o common_a prayer_n than_o you_o do_v not_o love_v the_o man_n that_o read_v it_o next_o you_o will_v not_o come_v to_o hear_v he_o and_o now_o you_o will_v not_o allow_v he_o to_o be_v a_o minister_n nay_o rather_o than_o suffer_v he_o to_o enjoy_v that_o name_n you_o will_v venture_v to_o deprive_v apostolical_a man_n of_o their_o office_n who_o exercise_v a_o authority_n over_o their_o brethren_n n._n c._n suppose_v they_o do_v yet_o they_o be_v not_o lord_n c._n no_o nor_o do_v we_o ordain_v any_o lord_n when_o we_o make_v bishop_n that_o be_v a_o honour_n which_o the_o king_n do_v they_o to_o qualify_v they_o to_o sit_v in_o parliament_n and_o advise_v about_o the_o affair_n of_o the_o realm_n in_o which_o they_o be_v as_o much_o concern_v as_o other_o man_n n._n c._n if_o their_o lordship_n will_v preach_v more_o perhaps_o we_o may_v like_v they_o better_o c._n i_o doubt_v not_o for_o those_o that_o do_v
have_v scripture_n enough_o to_o prove_v it_o n._n c._n but_o i_o mean_v that_o the_o love_n of_o jesus_n christ_n to_o poor_a soul_n shall_v be_v more_o preach_v c._n i_o can_v say_v it_o shall_v be_v more_o preach_v but_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v preach_v and_o so_o it_o be_v and_o perhaps_o better_a than_o you_o will_v have_v it_o for_o his_o love_n be_v declare_v to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v love_v he_o and_o keep_v his_o commandment_n this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n teach_v we_o to_o live_v sober_o etc._n etc._n the_o lovingkindness_n of_o god_n towards_o mankind_n in_o christ_n jesus_n be_v express_v for_o this_o very_a purpose_n and_o therefore_o he_o that_o preach_v both_o these_o together_o be_v the_o best_a and_o wise_a guide_n with_o who_o to_o entrust_v our_o soul_n and_o that_o be_v the_o design_n of_o our_o minister_n he_o do_v not_o tickle_v we_o mere_o with_o a_o soft_a story_n of_o the_o great_a love_n of_o jesus_n christ_n towards_o sinner_n but_o labour_n to_o beget_v in_o we_o a_o ardent_a love_n to_o he_o and_o lest_o we_o shall_v run_v away_o with_o a_o pleasant_a fancy_n he_o make_v we_o understand_v wherein_o this_o love_n consist_v viz._n in_o obedience_n to_o he_o to_o the_o very_a death_n in_o meekness_n humility_n patience_n take_v up_o the_o cross_n and_o such_o like_a grace_n which_o seem_v to_o be_v rough_a thing_n and_o have_v no_o amiableness_n in_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o world_n but_o be_v as_o dear_a to_o all_o those_o who_o love_v our_o saviour_n as_o their_o very_a life_n and_o this_o make_v i_o think_v he_o the_o most_o sincere_a and_o honest_a that_o he_o do_v not_o seek_v so_o much_o to_o please_v we_o in_o his_o preach_v as_o to_o profit_v we_o n._n c._n profit_n do_v you_o call_v it_o i_o can_v never_o profit_v by_o he_o at_o all_o c._n who_o fault_n be_v that_o you_o or_o he_o you_o be_v loath_a to_o suspect_v yourself_o and_o incline_v to_o lay_v all_o the_o load_n on_o other_o i_o understand_v before_o or_o may_v have_v understand_v easy_o when_o you_o please_v what_o thing_n do_v you_o now_o understand_v the_o reason_n of_o better_a than_o former_o or_o what_o account_n can_v you_o give_v i_o of_o the_o ground_n of_o christian_a faith_n and_o of_o the_o hope_n that_o be_v in_o you_o what_o rule_v of_o prudence_n have_v you_o meet_v withal_o what_o explication_n of_o scripture_n i_o be_v go_v to_o ask_v what_o point_n in_o divinity_n you_o be_v able_a to_o state_n with_o judgement_n and_o due_a caution_n but_o that_o be_v too_o hard_a a_o question_n n._n c._n i_o be_o not_o able_a present_o to_o call_v thing_n to_o mind_n but_o this_o i_o be_o sure_a of_o that_o i_o get_v more_o good_a by_o they_o than_o any_o man_n that_o ever_o i_o hear_v c._n that_o be_v you_o be_v grow_v better_a wherein_o i_o beseech_v you_o be_v your_o carnal_a affection_n more_o mortify_v be_v your_o passion_n more_o subdue_v to_o reason_n be_v you_o more_o humble_a and_o lowly_a in_o heart_n more_o meek_a more_o merciful_a more_o compassionate_a to_o all_o man_n more_o affable_a more_o courteous_a i_o be_o afraid_a in_o this_o last_o point_v you_o be_v grow_v better_o as_o sour_a ale_n do_v in_o summer_n that_o be_v more_o sharp_a and_o eager_a n._n c._n methinks_v i_o have_v much_o more_o comfort_n c._n that_o be_v strange_a when_o you_o be_v neither_o wise_a nor_o better_o as_o far_o as_o i_o can_v discern_v one_o will_v think_v you_o shall_v suspect_v they_o to_o be_v foolish_a and_o deceitful_a comfort_n because_o they_o have_v so_o little_a ground_n except_o it_o be_v in_o your_o imagination_n n._n c._n why_o will_v you_o have_v i_o fetch_v my_o comfort_n from_o myself_o and_o not_o from_o jesus_n christ_n c._n now_o i_o see_v indeed_o how_o wise_a you_o be_v grow_v by_o this_o profound_a question_n n.c._n must_v not_o all_o our_o comfort_n be_v fetch_v from_o jesus_n christ_n c._n yes_o but_o every_o body_n can_v fetch_v it_o they_o be_v the_o weary_a and_o heavy_a lade_v and_o such_o as_o take_v upon_o they_o his_o yoke_n and_o burden_n i._n e._n submit_v to_o his_o command_n who_o he_o invite_v and_o promise_v ease_n and_o refreshment_n unto_o by_o which_o you_o may_v see_v if_o you_o will_v that_o we_o must_v feel_v something_o that_o be_v good_a in_o ourselves_o and_o more_o than_o good_a desire_n and_o affection_n and_o purpose_n before_o we_o can_v feel_v that_o solid_a comfort_n and_o satisfaction_n you_o speak_v of_o n._n c._n then_o it_o seem_v we_o must_v fetch_v our_o comfort_n from_o our_o own_o self_n c._n no._n but_o it_o seem_v you_o be_v grow_v so_o wise_a and_o take_v up_o in_o such_o high_a notion_n that_o you_o can_v understand_v common_a sense_n be_v there_o any_o other_o comfort_v you_o dare_v give_v to_o a_o ungodly_a man_n beside_o this_o that_o he_o may_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o our_o lord_n be_v make_v better_a and_o so_o receive_v into_o his_o favour_n n._n c._n i_o think_v not_o c._n then_o before_o you_o can_v take_v that_o full_a comfort_n in_o he_o which_o you_o talk_v of_o you_o must_v feel_v that_o you_o be_v true_o change_v and_o convert_v to_o a_o love_n of_o godliness_n and_o a_o life_n according_a to_o those_o good_a affection_n all_o the_o good_a indeed_o that_o be_v in_o we_o and_o all_o that_o we_o hope_v for_o we_o derive_v from_o our_o saviour_n christ_n but_o till_o we_o become_v good_a and_o be_v make_v like_o he_o we_o do_v but_o put_v ourselves_o into_o a_o fool_n be_v paradise_n if_o we_o fancy_n that_o we_o be_v in_o his_o favour_n and_o that_o he_o will_v carry_v we_o to_o heaven_n and_o on_o the_o contrary_a when_o we_o be_v once_o make_v partaker_n of_o his_o bless_a nature_n and_o spirit_n how_o can_v we_o choose_v but_o be_v full_a of_o joy_n both_o in_o that_o resemblance_n we_o find_v in_o ourselves_o to_o he_o and_o much_o more_o in_o the_o hope_n he_o have_v give_v we_o that_o he_o will_v perfect_v those_o begining_n in_o eternal_a life_n but_o it_o be_v as_o plain_a that_o though_o we_o can_v but_o rejoice_v very_o much_o in_o that_o which_o we_o feel_v in_o ourselves_o the_o likeness_n of_o christ_n and_o good_a hope_n yet_o the_o original_a of_o this_o joy_n &_o satisfaction_n be_v not_o from_o ourselves_o but_o he_o who_o give_v we_o that_o participation_n of_o his_o nature_n and_o those_o good_a hope_n n._n c._n i_o do_v not_o well_o understand_v you_o but_o this_o i_o know_v that_o you_o all_o talk_n as_o if_o we_o be_v to_o bring_v something_o to_o christ_n and_o not_o to_o take_v all_o from_o he_o c._n rather_o to_o talk_v thus_o be_v to_o be_v very_o ridiculous_a for_o he_o invite_v we_o to_o come_v to_o he_o i.e._n to_o believe_v on_o he_o and_o become_v his_o disciple_n and_o follower_n and_o this_o we_o must_v do_v or_o else_o be_v disow_v by_o he_o though_o when_o we_o do_v it_o we_o only_o obey_v his_o heavenly_a call_n and_o bring_v he_o nothing_o but_o only_o all_o our_o desire_n and_o affection_n to_o be_v govern_v by_o he_o be_v there_o any_o body_n so_o absurd_a as_o to_o imagine_v we_o must_v not_o give_v up_o ourselves_o to_o be_v lead_v and_o guide_v by_o he_o in_o his_o way_n and_o when_o we_o be_v in_o they_o do_v any_o body_n think_v we_o come_v there_o without_o his_o motion_n and_o gracious_a attraction_n will_v you_o have_v we_o without_o any_o more_o a_o do_v conclude_v that_o all_o the_o promise_a blessing_n be_v our_o portion_n or_o must_v we_o not_o first_o be_v persuade_v our_o saviour_n tell_v we_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o then_o purpose_v to_o learn_v of_o he_o and_o obey_v he_o and_o next_o set_v ourselves_o with_o all_o our_o might_n to_o subdue_v every_o thought_n and_o passion_n to_o his_o obedience_n and_o last_o of_o all_o order_z
