the_o nature_n of_o christ._n for_o the_o godhead_n of_o christ_n be_v our_o gain_n not_o in_o respect_n of_o essence_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o virtue_n and_o operation_n show_v in_o or_o upon_o the_o manhood_n of_o christ_n whereby_o it_o make_v thing_n which_o be_v do_v and_o suffer_v in_o the_o say_a manhood_n apt_a and_o sufficient_a to_o appease_v god_n anger_n &_o to_o merit_v eternal_a life_n for_o us._n as_o for_o the_o manhood_n it_o be_v not_o only_o in_o effect_n and_o operation_n but_o also_o real_o communicate_v to_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o believe_a heart_n and_o herupon_o it_o be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o treasury_n and_o storehouse_n of_o all_o the_o rich_a grace_n of_o god_n that_o serve_v to_o justify_v save_v or_o any_o way_n to_o enrich_v the_o elect_a of_o all_o age_n and_o time_n through_o the_o whole_a world_n if_o any_o doubt_n of_o this_o let_v they_o consider_v three_o thing_n of_o this_o most_o glorious_a manhood_n the_o first_o be_v the_o grace_n of_o personal_a union_n whereby_o it_o be_v receive_v into_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o second_o person_n &_o have_v no_o be_v or_o subsist_v but_o only_o in_o the_o subsistence_n thereof_o and_o hence_o it_o be_v true_o term_v the_o humanity_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n or_o of_o the_o word_n the_o second_o be_v that_o this_o manhood_n have_v in_o it_o all_o fullness_n of_o grace_n common_o call_v in_o school_n habitual_a grace_n now_o this_o fullness_n of_o grace_n contain_v in_o it_o all_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n 35._o and_o that_o in_o the_o high_a degree_n of_o perfection_n it_o have_v therefore_o in_o it_o gift_n more_o for_o number_n &_o great_a for_o measure_n then_o all_o man_n and_o angel_n have_v the_o three_o be_v that_o it_o receive_v this_o excellency_n of_o gift_n and_o grace_n not_o for_o itself_o but_o that_o it_o may_v be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o pipe_n or_o conduit_n to_o convey_v the_o same_o grace_n to_o all_o the_o elect._n our_o salvation_n and_o in_o some_o measure_n to_o all_o that_o be_v mystical_o unite_v to_o he_o as_o light_v in_o one_o candle_n be_v derive_v to_o a_o hundred_o or_o as_o heat_n be_v derive_v from_o heat_n again_o he_o be_v our_o justice_n not_o only_o because_o he_o be_v the_o author_n and_o giver_n of_o our_o justice_n with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n neither_o because_o the_o essential_a justice_n of_o christ_n be_v give_v to_o we_o for_o than_o we_o shall_v be_v all_o deify_v but_o because_o that_o justice_n which_o be_v in_o the_o manhood_n consist_v partly_o in_o the_o purity_n of_o nature_n the_o merit_n of_o martyr_n and_o saint_n they_o bring_v no_o advantage_n to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n but_o be_v indeed_o matter_n for_o the_o dounghill_n four_o if_o christ_n be_v our_o treasure_n and_o gain_v our_o heart_n must_v be_v set_v on_o he_o our_o mind_n use_v to_o be_v upon_o our_o penny_n and_o we_o hunger_n after_o gain_n let_v we_o therefore_o hunger_n after_o christ_n he_o be_v as_o we_o receive_v of_o his_o fullness_n who_o be_v the_o fountain_n of_o goodness_n never_o dry_v up_o to_o proceed_v further_o the_o second_o part_n of_o the_o comparison_n christ_n be_v my_o gain_n be_v amplify_v by_o a_o gradation_n on_o this_o manner_n i_o esteem_v the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n jesus_n my_o lord_n a_o excellent_a thing_n i_o desire_v to_o gain_v christ_n i_o desire_v
