that_o which_o we_o have_v to_o do_v in_o the_o case_n be_v this_o namely_o to_o get_v the_o clear_a proof_n of_o the_o second_o part_n thus_o i_o do_v know_v that_o i_o do_v so_o love_v the_o brethren_n according_a to_o the_o true_a purport_n and_o meaning_n of_o that_o and_o other_o text_n of_o scripture_n and_o then_o conclude_v from_o this_o scripture_n and_o other_o of_o the_o like_a import_n that_o i_o be_o pass_v from_o death_n to_o life_n that_o be_v i_o be_o regenerate_v 2._o an_o other_o sign_n or_o mark_v of_o regenerate_v man_n lay_v down_o in_o scripture_n be_v this_o that_o they_o desire_v the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n that_o they_o may_v grow_v thereby_o 1_o pet._n 2.2_o now_o if_o i_o be_o a_o babe_n in_o christ_n i_o do_v desire_v the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o i_o may_v not_o only_o eat_v it_o but_o eat_v it_o to_o grow_v thereby_o to_o grow_v up_o in_o christ_n grace_n and_o in_o the_o practice_n and_o fruit_n of_o holiness_n and_o if_o i_o do_v so_o desire_v the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n than_o i_o be_o at_o least_o a_o babe_n or_o young_a child_n of_o god_n but_o this_o be_v not_o my_o work_n or_o present_a design_n and_o therefore_o do_v but_o little_o more_o than_o mention_v these_o thing_n namely_o to_o show_v that_o unregenerate_a and_o regenerate_v person_n may_v know_v the_o state_n and_o condition_n wherein_o they_o be_v the_o one_o in_o and_o by_o sin_n the_o other_o in_o and_o by_o grace_n but_o i_o think_v good_a to_o say_v a_o little_a of_o it_o and_o but_o a_o little_a as_o a_o preparative_n to_o that_o which_o i_o have_v further_o to_o say_v and_o which_o be_v main_o intend_v as_o the_o subject_a matter_n of_o this_o chapter_n q._n what_o be_v some_o of_o the_o most_o certain_a sign_n character_n or_o mark_v of_o regenerate_v and_o unregenerate_v person_n or_o state_n a._n much_o have_v be_v say_v already_o in_o open_v the_o work_n of_o regeneration_n what_o it_o be_v and_o what_o be_v contain_v in_o it_o as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o that_o chapter_n and_o therefore_o i_o shall_v say_v the_o less_o here_o but_o yet_o i_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o present_v so_o much_o unto_o you_o in_o this_o chapter_n or_o head_n as_o shall_v full_o answer_v and_o resolve_v the_o question_n first_o a_o regenerate_v person_n have_v new_a life_n it_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n
