objection_n if_o it_o be_v object_v that_o the_o faith_n and_o obedience_n of_o abraham_n be_v so_o excellent_a that_o the_o like_a be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v at_o this_o day_n in_o all_o the_o in_o he_o he_o be_v right_o then_o call_v the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n see_v by_o he_o christ_n with_o all_o his_o benefit_n be_v make_v we_o now_o it_o be_v too_o great_a and_o wicked_a a_o impiety_n themselves_o they_o shall_v have_v their_o recourse_n to_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n which_o can_v be_v do_v unless_o it_o pierce_v into_o the_o very_a depth_n of_o the_o heart_n for_o hypocrisy_n by_o the_o blood_n of_o beast_n under_o the_o former_a testament_n by_o which_o word_n he_o will_v have_v the_o jew_n to_o pass_v from_o the_o law_n to_o jesus_n christ_n for_o if_o the_o weakness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v so_o great_a that_o all_o the_o remedy_n which_o it_o give_v to_o wash_v away_o sin_n do_v not_o accomplish_v that_o which_o they_o signify_v what_o be_v he_o that_o will_v rest_v himself_o in_o they_o as_o in_o a_o sure_a haven_n this_o only_a point_n i_o say_v aught_o to_o be_v a_o sufficient_a spur_n unto_o they_o to_o desire_v a_o reformation_n of_o the_o law_n because_o while_o they_o rest_v still_o in_o that_o it_o can_v be_v avoid_v but_o they_o must_v fall_v into_o a_o perpetual_a anxiety_n of_o conscience_n la_o they_o must_v needs_o be_v in_o perpetual_a anguish_n of_o conscience_n that_o rest_n only_o in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o la_o contrariwise_o when_o we_o be_v once_o come_v to_o christ_n nothing_o remain_v that_o may_v torment_v we_o because_o in_o he_o we_o find_v and_o obtain_v full_a and_o perfect_a redemption_n thus_o then_o by_o these_o word_n he_o show_v the_o weakness_n of_o the_o law_n to_o the_o end_n the_o jew_n shall_v no_o long_o rest_v in_o it_o and_o withal_o teach_v they_o to_o keep_v themselves_o close_o to_o christ_n because_o in_o he_o be_v to_o be_v find_v whatsoever_o can_v be_v desire_v to_o against_o us._n for_o when_o the_o sinner_n present_v himself_o and_o do_v public_o confess_v that_o he_o be_v indebt_v to_o god_n and_o in_o offer_v of_o a_o innocent_a beast_n do_v acknowledge_v himself_o worthy_a of_o eternal_a death_n what_o gain_v he_o by_o his_o sacrifice_n unless_o we_o may_v peradventure_o say_v that_o he_o seal_v to_o his_o own_o death_n by_o this_o obligation_n in_o a_o word_n they_o have_v no_o better_a mean_n to_o assure_v they_o of_o the_o remission_n of_o their_o sin_n than_o in_o look_v unto_o christ_n now_o if_o the_o only_o behold_v of_o christ_n do_v wash_v away_o their_o sin_n they_o can_v never_o be_v deliver_v from_o they_o if_o they_o shall_v still_o have_v rest_v in_o the_o law_n true_a it_o be_v that_o david_n say_v psal_n 32.1_o bless_a be_v the_o man_n to_o who_o the_o lord_n impute_v not_o sin_n but_o to_o attain_v the_o joyful_a tiding_n of_o this_o blessedness_n it_o be_v necessary_a for_o he_o to_o turn_v his_o eye_n from_o of_o this_o his_o covenant_n be_v in_o he_o as_o touch_v the_o promise_n of_o the_o eternal_a inheritance_n he_o take_v it_o for_o the_o heritage_n promise_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v the_o promise_n of_o eternal_a life_n have_v not_o otherwise_o have_v his_o effect_n towards_o we_o for_o our_o enjoy_n of_o it_o but_o by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n it_o be_v very_o sure_a that_o life_n be_v promise_v in_o old_a time_n to_o the_o father_n and_o the_o same_o which_o be_v now_o at_o this_o day_n be_v from_o the_o beginning_n the_o heritage_n of_o the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o we_o enter_v not_o into_o the_o possession_n of_o it_o unless_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n do_v go_v before_o he_o make_v express_a mention_n of_o those_o which_o be_v call_v to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v there_o but_o this_o one_o place_n yet_o be_v it_o sufficient_a to_o show_v that_o this_o epistle_n be_v not_o write_v in_o hebrew_n for_o berith_n in_o the_o hebrew_n tongue_n signify_v covenant_n and_o not_o testament_n but_o because_o the_o greek_a word_n diathece_n have_v these_o two_o signification_n to_o wit_n of_o the_o covenant_n and_o of_o the_o testament_n for_o this_o cause_n the_o apostle_n allude_v to_o the_o second_o signification_n affirm_v that_o the_o promise_n can_v not_o otherwise_o be_v of_o any_o weight_n or_o stability_n unless_o they_o have_v be_v seal_v by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n
