kindness_n when_o he_o cause_v we_o to_o know_v the_o way_n wherein_o we_o shall_v walk_v from_o whence_o observe_v again_o that_o when_o our_o spirit_n be_v dissatisfy_v restless_a and_o troublesome_a it_o be_v a_o certain_a sign_n either_o of_o some_o gild_n appear_v forth_o in_o they_o or_o we_o be_v not_o conversant_a about_o and_o employ_v in_o what_o we_o ought_v again_o on_o they_o be_v out_o of_o their_o element_n and_o then_o there_o be_v trouble_v doubt_v and_o disquiet_v as_o god_n ask_v the_o question_n in_o reference_n to_o the_o false_a and_o idolatrous_a worshipper_n among_o the_o jew_n shall_v i_o receive_v comfort_n in_o these_o isa_n 57_o 6._o so_o it_o may_v be_v conceive_v and_o judge_v of_o beforehand_o as_o to_o our_o several_a act_n of_o religion_n according_a as_o we_o find_v and_o receive_v comfort_n in_o they_o so_o it_o be_v a_o forego_v sign_n of_o god_n acceptance_n of_o they_o for_o as_o the_o jewish_a worshipper_n do_v hereby_o know_v that_o the_o lord_n receive_v a_o burnt-offering_a and_o a_o meat-offering_a at_o their_o hand_n if_o the_o fire_n do_v come_v down_o from_o heaven_n and_o consume_v and_o sacrifice_n and_o when_o he_o do_v show_v we_o all_o these_o thing_n judge_n 13._o 23._o so_o even_o then_o it_o may_v be_v understand_v and_o also_o under_o the_o gospel_n that_o god_n do_v remember_v all_o our_o offering_n and_o accept_v our_o burnt-sacrifice_n and_o so_o what_o we_o do_v as_o pertain_v to_o religion_n and_o worship_n if_o thereupon_o god_n do_v immediate_o give_v we_o the_o chief_a thing_n of_o the_o last_a mountain_n and_o the_o precious_a thing_n of_o the_o last_a hill_n deut._n 33._o 15._o that_o earnest_n and_o glimpse_n of_o future_a glory_n i_o mean_v that_o peace_n and_o joy_n and_o comfort_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n at_o the_o very_a same_o time_n and_o afterward_o also_o wherein_o we_o be_v serve_v he_o this_o again_o be_v to_o be_v difference_v from_o that_o who_o worship_v he_o in_o spirit_n and_o in_o truth_n but_o when_o we_o receive_v comfort_n in_o our_o holy_a thing_n and_o in_o our_o religious_a performance_n upon_o some_o true_a and_o assure_a ground_n out_o of_o god_n word_n this_o be_v a_o evidence_n and_o sign_n beforehand_o of_o our_o salvation_n and_o that_o our_o religion_n be_v a_o religion_n to_o the_o save_n of_o the_o soul_n so_o again_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n when_o we_o do_v not_o receive_v comfort_n in_o our_o religion_n but_o we_o perform_v it_o in_o a_o way_n of_o drudgery_n and_o task_n here_o we_o may_v suspect_v our_o course_n that_o as_o such_o people_n do_v not_o receive_v true_a comfort_n in_o the_o act_n of_o their_o religion_n so_o the_o great_a god_n unto_o who_o it_o do_v all_o relate_v and_o terminate_v do_v not_o receive_v comfort_n in_o they_o neither_o will_v they_o receive_v benefit_n thereof_o hereafter_o either_o such_o do_v not_o worship_n god_n in_o spirit_n and_o in_o truth_n or_o there_o be_v sin_n and_o iniquity_n in_o the_o worshipper_n god_n hear_v not_o sinner_n if_o i_o regard_v iniquity_n in_o my_o heart_n the_o lord_n will_v not_o hear_v i_o or_o they_o do_v not_o turn_v unto_o he_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n it_o be_v only_o do_v out_o of_o custom_n or_o as_o a_o task_n that_o be_v set_v they_o which_o they_o do_v not_o mind_n after_o it_o be_v over_o by_o the_o spirit_n which_o he_o have_v give_v we_o we_o may_v very_o much_o conceive_v and_o judge_v thereof_o beforehand_o according_a to_o what_o peace_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o mind_n we_o have_v if_o the_o other_o sign_n here_o mention_v do_v also_o concur_v and_o agree_v than_o we_o be_v in_o god_n way_n but_o if_o we_o be_v in_o doubt_n perplexity_n and_o uncertainty_n of_o soul_n then_o probable_o we_o be_v out_o of_o it_o each_o person_n know_v his_o own_o case_n and_o condition_n herein_o better_a than_o all_o the_o divine_n or_o preacher_n of_o the_o world_n can_v instruct_v or_o put_v he_o in_o mind_n of_o to_o the_o law_n and_o the_o testimony_n and_o the_o light_n that_o be_v in_o they_o and_o also_o within_o himself_o hereby_o he_o may_v know_v and_o assure_v his_o heart_n before_o he_o viz._n that_o he_o be_v in_o the_o way_n wherein_o he_o shall_v be_v even_o the_o way_n which_o the_o invinsible_a god_n his_o creator_n will_v have_v he_o to_o be_v in_o and_o which_o lead_v up_o unto_o heaven_n the_o habitation_n of_o the_o most_o high_a behold_v i_o send_v a_o angel_n before_o thou_o to_o keep_v thou_o in_o the_o way_n and_o to_o bring_v thou_o into_o the_o place_n which_o i_o have_v prepare_v beware_v of_o he_o and_o obey_v his_o voice_n exod._n 23._o 20_o 21._o this_o angel_n be_v conscience_n which_o also_o be_v to_o be_v rule_v my_o god_n why_o have_v thou_o forsake_v i_o therein_o also_o think_v after_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n that_o because_o he_o then_o come_v to_o feel_v pain_n and_o torment_n as_o if_o thereupon_o god_n who_o be_v all_o blessedness_n have_v forsake_v he_o and_o so_o in_o like_a manner_n david_n a_o man_n after_o god_n own_o heart_n who_o speak_v forth_o the_o word_n of_o our_o text_n as_o it_o be_v write_v but_o they_o like_o man_n have_v transgress_v the_o covenant_n so_o herein_o he_o speak_v like_o a_o man._n for_o because_o of_o his_o enemy_n which_o he_o mention_n three_o time_n in_o ver_fw-la 12._o he_o also_o think_v as_o if_o god_n have_v withdraw_v his_o love_a kindness_n and_o have_v none_o towards_o he_o for_o if_o he_o have_v he_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o have_v such_o enemy_n but_o in_o this_o last_o david_n do_v err_v not_o know_v or_o rather_o not_o consisider_v the_o scripture_n and_o the_o power_n of_o god_n and_o the_o way_n and_o method_n of_o the_o dispensation_n of_o his_o kingdom_n towards_o we_o men._n god_n suffer_v they_o to_o have_v enemy_n to_o hold_v his_o servant_n in_o warfare_n and_o trial_n david_n be_v not_o so_o much_o then_o destitute_a of_o the_o love_a of_o kindness_n of_o god_n but_o he_o be_v destitute_a of_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o love_a kindness_n of_o god_n which_o be_v evident_a from_o the_o very_a manner_n of_o express_v it_o cause_v i_o to_o hear_v thy_o love_a kindness_n in_o the_o morning_n intimate_v thereby_o that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o the_o love_a kindness_n of_o god_n towards_o he_o but_o it_o be_v afar_o off_o and_o out_o of_o hear_v and_o therefore_o he_o pray_v unto_o god_n to_o cause_v he_o to_o hear_v it_o and_o then_o it_o must_v be_v bring_v near_o and_o be_v sensible_a for_o hear_v be_v a_o sense_n unto_o he_o cause_v i_o to_o hear_v thy_o love_a kindness_n in_o the_o morning_n be_v a_o relative_n kind_a of_o speech_n which_o do_v presuppose_v absence_n and_o want_n thereof_o inasmuch_o as_o a_o man_n do_v not_o pray_v for_o but_o rather_o give_v thanks_o for_o what_o he_o have_v already_o but_o either_o david_n do_v not_o at_o all_o or_o at_o least_o not_o so_o much_o hear_v the_o love_a kindness_n of_o god_n as_o he_o will_v desire_v for_o and_o therefore_o he_o put_v up_o this_o prayer_n unto_o god_n in_o this_o manner_n why_o a_o sense_n and_o hear_n of_o the_o love_a kindness_n of_o god_n will_v be_v as_o so_o much_o stay_v and_o support_v as_o so_o much_o armour_n and_o defence_n against_o the_o incursion_n and_o assault_n of_o his_o enemy_n he_o have_v some_o apprehension_n of_o thus_o much_o from_o the_o follow_a word_n which_o he_o drop_v for_o in_o thou_o do_v i_o trust_v which_o again_o presuppose_v some_o fear_n he_o be_v in_o and_o some_o danger_n he_o be_v subject_a unto_o as_o to_o both_o of_o which_o he_o do_v trust_v that_o the_o invisible_a god_n will_v save_v deliver_v and_o preserve_v he_o from_o they_o thus_o much_o may_v be_v sure_o gather_v and_o reason_v that_o if_o god_n have_v a_o love_a kindness_n for_o any_o one_o he_o will_v never_o suffer_v he_o to_o utter_o perish_v and_o tobe_n whole_o miserable_a i_o do_v not_o say_v that_o god_n will_v not_o suffer_v he_o so_o much_o as_o to_o be_v strike_v but_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o be_v destroy_v that_o be_v not_o to_o be_v make_v by_o they_o eternal_o miserable_a his_o enemy_n may_v possible_o hunt_v and_o seek_v after_o he_o but_o they_o shall_v not_o total_o overcome_v nor_o prevail_v against_o he_o for_o ever_o david_n do_v here_o pray_v like_o one_o who_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n and_o understanding_n the_o spirit_n of_o counsel_n and_o of_o may_v the_o spirit_n of_o knowledge_n and_o of_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n isa_n xi_o 2._o for_o he_o know_v that_o if_o he_o have_v once_o the_o love_a kindness_n of_o god_n he_o have_v all_o which_o can_v be_v desire_v and_o what_o be_v necessary_a for_o safety_n and_o deliverance_n from_o man_n and_o devil_n and_o therefore_o he_o fit_o and_o proper_o pray_v for_o that_o in_o the_o first_o place_n thy_o love_a kindness_n in_o the_o morning_n as_o morning_n thought_n be_v common_o most_o fresh_a and_o lively_a so_o than_o he_o be_v most_o trouble_v and_o doubtful_a and_o his_o heart_n do_v misgive_v he_o and_o meditate_v terror_n lest_o he_o shall_v miss_v thereof_o and_o not_o have_v it_o as_o the_o same_o david_n say_v when_o i_o wake_v i_o be_o still_o with_o thou_o psal_n cxxxix_o 8._o and_o as_o the_o spirit_n say_v the_o lord_n mercy_n be_v be_v the_o more_o last_a and_o remain_v good_n here_o it_o be_v by_o a_o live_a voice_n and_o by_o word_n of_o mouth_n again_o of_o this_o you_o be_v not_o ignorant_a that_o in_o other_o city_n town_n and_o village_n there_o be_v the_o like_a creature_n of_o the_o same_o god_n as_o you_o yourselves_o be_v and_o alike_o sheep_n of_o the_o one_o and_o everlasting_a shepherd_n who_o have_v we_o minister_n for_o his_o under-shepherd_n and_o these_o sheep_n be_v to_o be_v feed_v instruct_v and_o exhort_v in_o the_o word_n of_o eternal_a life_n so_o that_o you_o may_v be_v content_v and_o god_n on_o the_o high_a on_o earth_n peace_n and_o good_a will_n towards_o men._n but_o as_o to_o the_o soul_n of_o they_o in_o this_o town_n and_o neighbourhood_n who_o shall_v perish_v they_o will_v still_o continue_v despiser_n and_o non-hearer_n reproacher_n and_o blasphemer_n stubborn_a and_o perverse_a be_v blind_v rom._n 11._o 7._o and_o snare_v isa_n 8._o 14._o at_o the_o word_n of_o my_o ministry_n and_o there_o will_v be_v a_o stumble_a block_n hinder_v they_o from_o come_v to_o hear_v it_o although_o i_o shall_v continue_v here_o all_o the_o remain_v evil_a day_n of_o my_o pilgrimage_n which_o i_o intend_v not_o to_o do_v as_o robert_n bolton_n call_v for_o his_o six_o child_n up_o when_o he_o lie_v upon_o his_o deathbed_n and_o utter_v this_o his_o last_o say_v unto_o perhaps_o although_o they_o be_v not_o in_o every_o part_n yet_o it_o be_v so_o in_o some_o part_n thereof_o for_o you_o be_v not_o as_o yet_o turn_v unto_o the_o lord_n your_o god_n with_o all_o your_o heart_n and_o with_o all_o your_o soul_n and_o with_o all_o your_o mind_n without_o the_o exception_n or_o reserve_v of_o any_o lust_n humour_n or_o will_n of_o your_o own_o and_o you_o be_v pray_v and_o ejaculate_a after_o this_o manner_n it_o may_v seem_v to_o encourage_v other_o in_o a_o like_a course_n of_o sin_v and_o teach_v rebellion_n against_o the_o lord_n for_o so_o do_v shemaiah_n the_o nehelamite_n in_o give_v out_o as_o if_o jeremiah_n his_o prophet_n be_v mad_a as_o you_o may_v read_v in_o jer._n 29._o 26._o 32._o so_o that_o instead_o of_o my_o pray_n father_n
