second_o place_n i_o pray_v you_o consider_v that_o in_o god_n there_o be_v not_o only_o a_o understanding_n but_o also_o a_o will_n and_o this_o will_v so_o far_o as_o we_o be_v able_a to_o discern_v it_o by_o the_o effect_n be_v a_o certain_a ability_n whereby_o he_o appli_v his_o workfull_a power_n and_o this_o will_v be_v his_o very_a essence_n as_o well_o as_o his_o understanding_n &_o be_v still_o a_o do_v as_o well_o as_o his_o understanding_n from_o all_o eternity_n and_o therefore_o as_o his_o understanding_n by_o a_o certain_a reflection_n of_o itself_o upon_o itself_o have_v beget_v we_o a_o second_o person_n who_o we_o call_v the_o son_n so_o this_o will_v which_o work_v everlasting_o have_v none_o other_o thing_n to_o work_v upon_o but_o itself_o do_v also_o by_o his_o work_n strike_v back_o upon_o itself_o and_o delight_v itself_o in_o that_o infinite_a good_a which_o it_o know_v there_o and_o so_o shed_v out_o itself_o whole_o to_o the_o love_a thereof_o and_o by_o this_o action_n it_o bring_v we_o forth_o a_o three_o person_n who_o we_o call_v the_o spirit_n or_o holy_a ghost_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o mutual_a kindness_n and_o lovingnesse_n of_o the_o father_n towards_o the_o son_n and_o of_o the_o son_n towards_o the_o father_n of_o the_o father_n the_o understander_n towards_o the_o son_n conceive_v and_o beget_v by_o his_o understanding_n and_o of_o the_o son_n back_o again_o towards_o the_o father_n acknowledge_v all_o that_o he_o have_v and_o all_o that_o he_o be_v to_o be_v of_o the_o father_n now_o because_o there_o always_o go_v some_o act_n of_o the_o understanding_n before_o the_o act_n of_o the_o will_n therefore_o we_o say_v the_o three_o person_n be_v not_o only_o from_o the_o will_n but_o also_o from_o the_o understanding_n and_o because_o he_o be_v from_o two_o and_o that_o by_o act_n of_o will_n and_o understanding_n therefore_o we_o term_v he_o proceed_v and_o not_o beget_v and_o because_o the_o three_o person_n proceed_v of_o god_n will_n and_o understanding_n and_o god_n will_v and_o understanding_n be_v his_o essence_n and_o of_o his_o essence_n can_v nothing_o proceed_v which_o be_v not_o his_o essence_n it_o must_v needs_o follow_v that_o the_o three_o person_n be_v not_o only_o coeternal_a and_o coequal_a but_o also_o coessential_o for_o as_o to_o be_v and_o to_o understand_v be_v all_o one_o in_o god_n so_o to_o will_n and_o to_o understand_v be_v all_o one_o in_o he_o and_o so_o all_o three_o come_v into_o one_o essence_n so_o that_o as_o we_o have_v god_n of_o god_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o son_n of_o the_o father_n by_o the_o everlasting_a in_o work_v of_o the_o understanding_n so_o have_v we_o also_o god_n of_o god_n again_o that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o holy_a ghost_n or_o love_n of_o they_o both_o by_o the_o joint_a work_n of_o the_o understanding_n and_o will_n together_o whereupon_o we_o conclude_v three_o distinck_n person_n or_o in_o being_n in_o one_o essence_n and_o though_o we_o say_v speak_v after_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n that_o the_o act_n of_o the_o understanding_n go_v before_o the_o act_n of_o the_o will_n yet_o be_v we_o not_o to_o imagine_v any_o go_n before_o or_o come_v after_o in_o these_o person_n but_o only_o to_o lay_v forth_o these_o thing_n according_a to_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n and_o now_o by_o this_o time_n i_o hope_v you_o do_v perceive_v the_o evident_a footstepts_a of_o three_o in_o being_n or_o person_n in_o one_o essence_n chris_n but_o sir_n the_o thing_n which_o i_o must_v desire_v to_o hear_v be_v some_o resemblance_n of_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o creature_n indep_n if_o you_o will_v have_v resemblance_n of_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o creature_n than_o i_o pray_v you_o consider_v that_o the_o sun_n beget_v his_o one_o beam_n which_o the_o poet_n do_v call_v the_o sun_n of_o the_o sun_n and_o from_o they_o two_o proceed_v light_a which_o impart_v itself_o to_o all_o thing_n here_o beneath_o and_o yet_o be_v not_o the_o one_o of_o they_o before_o the_o other_o for_o neither_o be_v the_o sun_n before_o his_o beam_n or_o the_o sun_n or_o his_o beam_n before_o the_o light_n otherwise_o then_o in_o consideration_n of_o order_n and_o relation_n in_o that_o the_o beam_n be_v beget_v and_o the_o light_n be_v proceed_v which_o be_v a_o apparent_a image_n of_o what_o i_o have_v say_v likewise_o in_o water_n we_o have_v the_o head_n of_o they_o in_o the_o earth_n and_o the_o spring_n boil_v out_o of_o it_o and_o the_o stream_n which_o be_v make_v of_o they_o both_o and_o shed_v itself_o far_o from_o thence_o yet_o it_o be_v but_o oneself_o same_o continual_a and_o unseparable_a essence_n which_o have_v neither_o forenesse_n nor_o afternesse_n in_o regard_n of_o time_n but_o only_o in_o regard_n of_o order_n and_o our_o consideration_n of_o it_o for_o the_o well_o head_n be_v not_o a_o head_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o spring_n nor_o the_o spring_n a_o spring_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o well_o head_n nor_o the_o stream_n a_o stream_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o they_o both_o and_o so_o all_o three_o be_v but_o one_o water_n and_o can_v almost_o be_v consider_v without_o one_o another_o which_o be_v also_o a_o express_a mark_n of_o the_o original_a relation_n and_o person_n coessential_a in_o the_o only_a one_o essence_n of_o god_n other_o resemblance_n hereof_o may_v be_v show_v but_o i_o hope_v by_o this_o time_n you_o do_v behold_v this_o mystery_n more_o clear_o and_o therefore_o thus_o much_o shall_v suffice_v to_o have_v be_v speak_v touch_v
