but_o be_v it_o not_o give_v to_o the_o pastor_n and_o minister_n of_o the_o church_n answ_n yes_o it_o be_v give_v chief_o unto_o they_o if_o they_o be_v saint_n yet_o not_o only_o to_o they_o but_o also_o with_o they_o to_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o saint_n their_o brethren_n quest_n but_o all_o the_o saint_n be_v not_o fit_a to_o be_v employ_v in_o this_o great_a work_n answ_n it_o be_v true_a that_o all_o the_o saint_n may_v not_o be_v fit_a for_o this_o work_n and_o therefore_o those_o be_v to_o be_v employ_v in_o the_o great_a affair_n of_o the_o church_n who_o have_v the_o great_a measure_n of_o grace_n bestow_v on_o they_o according_a to_o that_o say_n of_o the_o apostle_n 1_o pet._n 4.10_o as_o god_n have_v distribute_v to_o every_o man_n so_o let_v he_o minister_v etc._n etc._n yet_o the_o least_o saint_n be_v not_o to_o be_v despise_v or_o contemn_v who_o may_v be_v helpful_a to_o the_o body_n whereof_o by_o christ_n they_o be_v make_v member_n 1_o cor._n 12.21_o quest_n be_v it_o possible_a for_o the_o saint_n in_o this_o life_n to_o know_v one_o another_o answ_n yes_o doubtless_o god_n do_v declare_v and_o evidence_n they_o by_o his_o spirit_n even_o to_o the_o conscience_n of_o his_o child_n that_o so_o they_o may_v rejoice_v in_o the_o fellowship_n one_o of_o another_o and_o perform_v the_o duty_n require_v of_o they_o one_o to_o another_o to_o the_o performance_n of_o which_o the_o reward_n be_v promise_v which_o they_o can_v perform_v unless_o they_o know_v one_o another_o math._n 25._o chap._n 10.40_o 41_o 42._o quest_n but_o hypocrite_n may_v countterfeit_v true_a grace_n and_o make_v a_o show_n of_o holiness_n and_o satan_n can_v transform_v himself_o into_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n answ_n all_o this_o be_v true_a you_o say_v but_o yet_o the_o saint_n have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n in_o they_o and_o know_v the_o nature_n of_o true_a grace_n be_v able_a to_o judge_v of_o and_o to_o discern_v true_a grace_n from_o the_o counterfeit_a show_n of_o hypocrite_n quest_n but_o hypocrisy_n be_v hide_v in_o the_o heart_n and_o it_o be_v proper_a to_o god_n to_o know_v the_o heart_n and_o the_o apostle_n say_v 1_o cor._n 2.11_o that_o no_o man_n know_v the_o thing_n of_o a_o man_n but_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n which_o be_v in_o he_o answ_n it_o be_v true_a also_o but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o the_o heart_n of_o other_o be_v
manifest_a unto_o they_o when_o god_n shall_v reveal_v they_o unto_o his_o saint_n by_o make_v such_o a_o clear_a evidence_n of_o his_o grace_n to_o appear_v so_o that_o they_o may_v discern_v the_o same_o work_n of_o grace_n in_o other_o that_o be_v in_o themselves_o for_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o true_a grace_n shall_v always_o lie_v hide_v but_o it_o will_v be_v manifest_v at_o one_o time_n or_o other_o to_o the_o comfort_n and_o rejoice_v of_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o saint_n quest_n but_o by_o the_o parable_n of_o the_o draw-net_n in_o the_o thirteen_o of_o matthew_n it_o do_v appear_v that_o there_o may_v be_v wicked_a man_n in_o the_o church_n undiscovered_a and_o not_o know_v to_o be_v hypocrite_n until_o the_o great_a day_n of_o the_o lord_n answ_n it_o be_v true_a there_o may_v be_v such_o for_o i_o do_v not_o say_v that_o all_o hypocrite_n may_v be_v discern_v and_o know_v but_o that_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o the_o saint_n to_o know_v one_o another_o even_o in_o this_o life_n quest_n if_o all_o the_o saint_n may_v be_v discern_v and_o know_v than_o those_o that_o be_v not_o discern_v to_o be_v saint_n be_v to_o be_v judge_v hypocrite_n answ_n we_o can_v so_o conclude_v of_o they_o for_o though_o they_o be_v nor_o as_o yet_o discern_v and_o know_v yet_o afterward_o they_o may_v be_v or_o they_o may_v be_v saint_n and_o depart_v this_o life_n undiscerned_a through_o want_n of_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o saint_n who_o only_o be_v able_a to_o discern_v the_o truth_n of_o grace_n in_o the_o saint_n quest_n but_o how_o may_v we_o discern_v and_o know_v other_o to_o be_v saint_n answ_n it_o be_v very_o hard_a to_o set_v down_o any_o particular_a note_n whereby_o they_o may_v be_v know_v because_o the_o grace_n that_o do_v demonstrate_v they_o to_o be_v saint_n be_v inward_a and_o therefore_o be_v better_o conceive_v then_o can_v be_v express_v in_o word_n by_o we_o nevertheless_o if_o we_o can_v upon_o good_a ground_n assure_v ourselves_o that_o we_o be_v saint_n let_v we_o see_v and_o observe_v wherein_o we_o go_v beyond_o a_o hypocrite_n in_o the_o enjoy_v of_o any_o special_a and_o peculiar_a grace_n and_o then_o let_v we_o expect_v and_o look_v for_o the_o same_o grace_n in_o other_o and_o wheresoever_o we_o find_v that_o bless_a work_n of_o grace_n and_o fruit_n of_o the_o good_a tree_n ingraft_v into_o christ_n by_o a_o lively_a faith_n we_o may_v certain_o conclude_v he_o be_v a_o good_a tree_n because_o he_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n quest_n but_o the_o most_o holy_a and_o righteous_a do_v daily_a sin_n and_o do_v that_o which_o be_v evil_a and_o hypocrite_n may_v also_o do_v many_o good_a thing_n even_o work_v which_o be_v very_o good_a in_o outward_a appearance_n answ_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o the_o evil_n which_o the_o saint_n do_v be_v none_o of_o their_o fruit_n nor_o the_o good_a that_o hypocrite_n do_v be_v none_o of_o their_o fruit_n it_o can_v proper_o be_v call_v their_o fruit_n for_o the_o fruit_n be_v that_o which_o do_v discover_v the_o tree_n either_o to_o be_v good_a or_o evil_a matth._n 7.16.20_o rom._n 7.19_o quest_n what_o be_v to_o know_v they_o to_o be_v saint_n of_o a_o sudden_a assoon_o as_o they_o come_v to_o converse_v with_o they_o answ_n no_o certain_o especial_o in_o these_o time_n wherein_o we_o live_v for_o no_o doubt_n corruption_n do_v bear_v great_a sway_n in_o many_o that_o no_o doubt_n be_v saint_n and_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n do_v not_o manifest_v itself_o in_o many_o by_o reason_n of_o many_o discouragement_n that_o they_o meet_v with_o and_o for_o want_v of_o example_n to_o go_v before_o they_o to_o encourage_v they_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v very_o hard_a to_o discern_v they_o &_o hence_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o it_o be_v hold_v a_o impossible_a thing_n to_o know_v they_o in_o this_o life_n quest_n how_o be_v the_o company_n of_o saint_n call_v in_o the_o scripture_n answ_n they_o be_v call_v by_o many_o honourable_a name_n and_o title_n as_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n his_o body_n his_o spouse_n his_o habitation_n his_o temple_n zion_n jerusalem_n the_o pillar_n and_o ground_n of_o truth_n and_o many_o such_o like_a ephes_n 5.30_o 1_o cor._n 12.27_o cant._n 4.8.9.10_o 2_o cor._n 6.16_o gal._n 4.26_o quest_n when_o be_v this_o church_n and_o company_n of_o saint_n to_o be_v find_v answ_n this_o church_n be_v disperse_v over_o the_o whole_a world_n even_o among_o the_o very_a heathen_a quest_n how_o can_v it_o be_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v any_o saint_n in_o such_o place_n see_v they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o christ_n and_o there_o be_v no_o name_n under_o heaven_n whereby_o we_o may_v be_v save_v but_o only_o by_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n christ_n act_n 4.12_o answ_n it_o be_v true_a neither_o be_v they_o save_v by_o any_o other_o name_n under_o heaven_n but_o by_o christ_n alone_o quest_n how_o can_v they_o be_v save_v by_o he_o who_o never_o come_v to_o know_v he_o either_o to_o come_v or_o come_v in_o the_o flesh_n answ_n it_o may_v well_o be_v notwithstanding_o for_o there_o be_v leave_v in_o man_n even_o since_o his_o fall_n a_o certain_a knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o that_o he_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v and_o serve_v and_o there_o be_v also_o a_o law_n write_v in_o their_o heart_n condemn_v of_o they_o for_o disobey_v the_o law_n of_o god_n whereby_o they_o come_v to_o see_v themselves_o miserable_a and_o to_o be_v liable_a to_o the_o wrath_n of_o this_o just_a god_n though_o they_o know_v not_o how_o they_o come_v to_o be_v so_o at_o the_o first_o and_o also_o they_o see_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n extend_v towards_o they_o manifest_v in_o his_o creature_n god_n also_o work_v in_o they_o by_o his_o spirit_n persuade_v they_o that_o if_o they_o will_v seek_v mercy_n at_o his_o hand_n he_o will_v be_v merciful_a to_o their_o soul_n as_o well_o as_o to_o their_o body_n and_o this_o mercy_n of_o god_n be_v extend_v unto_o they_o for_o christ_n his_o sake_n though_o they_o know_v not_o by_o who_o mean_n and_o for_o who_o sake_n they_o receive_v it_o rom._n 2.14_o 15.26_o act_n 14.17_o rom._n 1.19_o 20._o qu._n be_v there_o not_o a_o communion_n and_o fellowship_n among_o the_o saint_n although_o they_o be_v thus_o disperse_v answ_n yes_o very_o they_o have_v a_o spiritual_a communion_n and_o fellowship_n all_o partake_n of_o the_o same_o grace_n all_o be_v beget_v by_o one_o father_n all_o bear_v of_o water_n and_o spirit_n all_o partaker_n of_o one_o precious_a faith_n all_o rule_v and_o govern_v by_o one_o and_o the_o same_o holy_a spirit_n who_o work_v in_o they_o a_o love_n to_o one_o another_o though_o they_o never_o behold_v the_o face_n one_o of_o another_o and_o do_v joy_n and_o rejoice_v in_o the_o happiness_n and_o prosperity_n one_o of_o another_o and_o for_o that_o end_n be_v daily_a suitor_n to_o god_n in_o prayer_n one_o for_o another_o ephes_n 2.14_o chap._n
